09.09.2019 - VN24 - (Part1) Semitrailer truck collides with breakdown truck - A2 in accident chaos

VN24 - Oelde / Germany (Part 1 of 2) Serious accident on the A2 motorway near Oelde. A trailer truck loaded with bread was stopped around 18 o'clock due to a puncture on the shoulder of the Dortmund directional lane. When the driver got out to check on the damage, he could only jump over the crash barrier to safety. A following semi-trailer truck loaded with empty glass bottles crashed into the left rear of the breakdown vehicle at full speed. Both trucks were torn open at their sides and twisted into each other. The broken-down vehicle loaded with bread crashed to its side and collapsed. The driver's cab of the semi-trailer was so damaged that the roof was torn down and the driver was sitting outside. A passenger might not have survived the accident. Unbelievable luck for both drivers, they were not seriously injured in this severe accident, yet both were hospitalized. The salvage and clean-up work continued into the early morning hours of the following day.
