I have been watching Simons video for last 6 years. When he started with Visual Politik to Geographics to Warographics. The guy is a legend.
The writers are legends. He just reads.. Have you learnt nothing since 1975?
@Peterbrendanalbert You are missing the point, writer's are good but what makes you think he is not contributing there? Besides it's the delivery that engages us the most.
Same when I saw this video with same man narrator it just like "wait how many channel he have" 😅
this channel he seems to take accuracy more deadly seriously. some of his others can be a tad spotty if you know the videos topic on a special interest level.
When I do something a lot, I usually have random dreams about that thing. I can only imagine how dark Simon dreams must be.
Dreaming about narration does sound terrifying
Nah he just dreams about getting his hair back with Keeps
I remember during the 9/11 timeframe I dreamed of war a lot.. Now it is tornadoes and hospitals with grotesque patients with parts of the floors missing.. And random elevators on the beach.
Now, imagine the dreams (and nightmares) that serving soldiers and military veterans who serve worldwide. (and all those in conflict zones really), get! :/ *sigh*…
Great percent of people don't dream at all, and not all dreamers dream like that too. I, fortunately, I get to do all things in my dreams that I can't do in real life .
I’m sorry to not be commenting on the content of the video itself (briefly I will say I appreciate the effort put into the craft, it’s amazing) but I am utterly and totally in awe at how many channels are under the today I found out umbrella. The teams behind the research, script writing, editing, and production as a whole are so talented and what is more profound is how they seem to scale up the quantity of production without compromising quality of it. And I’m obligated to mention that even in his earliest appearances on RUclips, Simon has always shown himself to be an incredible presenter. Throughout all these years, he is just in a class beyond most others in his ability to captivate, tell stories, and entertain without losing the heart of emotion behind each topic. Just excellence from everyone involved in all aspects of all the channels. So good
These videos have helped me tremendously understand what is truly going on, since information is always scattered around the Internet and one gets lost sometimes. Thanks to the team for the great work they're doing.
And network news doesn't have time or will to tell the details
And say what you will about Simon he’s INCREDIBLY centerist. Like it’s incredible. It still blows me away
😂👌
@@Fluffy_production being centrist and being factual are different, I think he's very factual we don't really know his political views aside from his views on the Russian Ukraine war. I don't think he's ever condoned or supported hamas or houthies or other hot topic political/terrorist (depending on your flavor) groups and I appreciate that.
Most of his shows are very very badly researched.
Netanyahu's assumption that any long lasting peace will be achieved after all he's done is nothing short of childish. The survivors of this war will have nothing but contempt for Israel after this.
They had nothing but contempt beforehand. But maybe, just maybe, they will think twice in the future before doing 7th Oct again.
@@hankjones3527So you’re saying if someone drone striked your entire family and you have lost everything you’re now less likely to become radicalized? Highly doubt it
@syedhasanalimahdi7390 Yesz because now you know the consequences. E.g. after WW2 both the Germans and Japanese not only relinquish violence but actually became the biggest supporter of the US who did most of the harm to them.
That's why Israel's unofficial policy is to not leave anyone around to feel contempt
@@hankjones3527 Funny you bring that up because the US’s subsequent support for West Germany and the Marshall plan were one of the biggest reasons for Germany’s economic miracle. A happy and succesful country has no reason to hate you.
These vids are fantastic. Puts MSM to shame with the quality of information given. Never stop
I'd say ONE issue with MSM is the lack of air time they've never been about long form content that can paint the bigger picture.
They'll try to compress it into a few minutes and leave so many details out, purposely too much the time.
@@MVPMTKING I agree with you 100% it comes with the territory of their format, but, with 24 hour need channels, it's not like they've not had the opportunity to change that up.
That being said, I've found the Telegraphs podcast on Ukraine very informative, albeit coming from a pro Ukraine perspective (just like this channel often does) which shows that given the opportunity to work with long format, MSM can be great.
@@MVPMTKINGthese news networks are also essentially lobbying the public on behalf of whichever political party they happen to be supporting. That’s really the problem lol
MSM in medicine means men who have sex with men (literally the technical term). As a med student i nearly spat my water out.
@@joshbaker3370 big facts, I hate the fact RUclips is often filled with the same types of news videos from 100 of the same news networks when what I'm really looking for is a fleshed out analysis, whether it's 20 min or an hour documentary.
Simon, please do a warographics episode on Israel's nuclear weapons program. Explain how they got it, why it's the worst kept secret in the middle east, and what the Samson Option is.
This war makes this aspect of Israel important for educational purposes.
Because?
@@ydplays4002 because Israel as a state is a pox on the middle east, a veritable monkey with a nuclear shotgun
Literally every nuclear power has a killswitch option. Presenting it as something unique to Israel is dishonest.
@@ydplays4002 It'd be a cool video? If it's not worthy for a video of it's own it also could be talked about in maybe a video about a hypothetical Iran/Israel war, Simon has done lots of videos talking about hypothetical China wars involving America and Taiwan, I think a war between Iran and Israel is just as likely as any China hypothetical.
@@ydplays4002 Well if for no other reason than showing that there is no danger of the country being wiped out as some of the language since October has implied or stated outright this is a possibility.
Will be interesting to see the next one with whatever comes out of the Iran/Israel growing conflict
Thank you Whistle Boy and Co! I was anxiously waiting to hear your updates!
It's crazy how this war is unraveling. When Warographics talked about it earlier, I thought they were just being over dramatic, yet here we are.
Which war? He talked about several different wars in this episode.
But there is no "war". And there won't be. The reason why is that _there is no equivalence between Israel's military and that of any other country in the mid east._ I mean, come on people! If you're Iran, why would you start a "war" that you're literally assured of losing?
Wars often follow periods of severe economic problems. The arab spring followed on the heels of the 2008 down turn for example

Crazy that attacking another country results in you yourself being attacked. Who could have seen this coming. Certainly not the country which recently attacked a country in retaliation for being attacked
You mean them targeting a kudz force cvnt responsible for a large portion of worldwide terrorism?
Considering Iran has been finding proxy groups for years, they had that strike coming and they deserve what happens next. Don't excuse them when they themselves are guilty.

When my father was a child, the Middle East was at War. When I was a child, the Middle East was at war. My children now are seeing a Middle Eastern war. Can you see the pattern?
No, the media environment around it is "moving swift". In reality, Iran basically completely failed. Palestinians are continuing to lose, as they have done for 60 years. Their reality is simply getting worse by the year.
The big picture: Israel is by far and away asserting itself as the sole military superpower in the mid east. And yes, they are a superpower. There's a reason Iran said "ok, we're done, we wish no more hostilities" after their failed attack.

Except that Israel does not actually want to "take" any part of Gaza, which to them is tainted wasteland (if they wanted Gaza, they would not have left in 2005). Iran's direct attack probably needs its own episode. I would personally love to hear your take on the fact that Jordan helped defend Israel against Iran, and will do so again.
To me, that's the most remarkable element
Jordan is hugely dependent on israel to keep iran and syria out of the country. Their economy is mostly foreign aid and tourism. They also depend on israel for water.

Thank you for the news Simon. I dont watch msm anymore so these episodes of world news are my main insight into matters of concern.
Yep, me too! Mainstream news is absolute trash.
Hard agree. Same.
I am surprised that you glossed so quickly over the the info that an Embassy was attacked, ignoring the inviolability of diplomatic and consular premises and personnel. It clearly violates the Charter of the United Nations as well as the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.
An attack on any Embassy elsewhere of the world would bring hell and brimstone, regardless of what one thinks may or may not be happening within an Embassy.
It wasn't an embassy.
You forfeit protection if it's used for military purposes. Embassy, church, hospitals or otherwise. That in itself is the war crime and mitigating factor. So Israel was in its rights to strike. Iran however, well... Israel is a NATO strategic partner... and NATOs policies state... Iran better Irun.
Iran seized the US Embassy in the past.
Cite the articles in question not the 50+ pages of documents. When you cite the article you imply you have actually read it (which you have not as you refuse to cite the article, attacks are under 29 and 40 on the vienna conventions iirc both of which consider the obligations of the host country, not about inviolability in general). Just cite the UN brief of Russia and China which is what you are paraphrasing anyways.
Good overview. Also fix your jackets' right elbow.

Is there a chance for english subtitles in your videos? No offense to the editor, but in my opinion, the increasingly intense vignette that has been creeping into the videos over the past year makes the videos feel tacky and more like a true-crime channel than a serious news video. I know the subject matter is usually quite intense, but I don't need the over dramatic color grading to be horrified by the increasing tension around the world.
I agree its intense, but im not getting murder show vibes. It has to be intense or somber when discussing people dying due to the sensitivity of the nature. Its a hard atmosphere to create, i imagine. What would you suggest?

I know you're trying to take a jab at Palestine, but Israel has been the one who's refused to negotiate on the past 3 ceasefire talks. The exchange was to be all Israeli hostages in exchange for all Palestinian hostages, and three separate times Israel has refused.
@@bl0bbyy As you've just described it, Israel isn't refusing to negotiate. They simply aren't willing to accept that proposal. @PrezVeto What hostages does Israel have? None. Israel didn't go into Gaza and murder, rape and kidnap 1200+ citizens. They have convicted terrorists who they are considering releasing. Hamas has rejected every deal that has been offered. They also broke the last ceasefire agreement, as I recall.
