I lived in Manoa as a child and it was just magical. We were there in the 70's/ early 80'd before our parents made us move. The lot we lived on has a $1M + price tag now, view of Diamond Head, etc. I feel so blessed to have lived there, a total dream. Fruit trees, rain showers, plumerias, rainbows, it was incredible.
That MCD and Safeway have been there forever. We used to go to Kay's Crack Seed regularly ❤

Born and raised in Honolulu, grad Kamehameha ‘68, grad University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington ‘72.
Moved to Hilo, in ‘72, been here ever since. Love your videos and find the dialogue, opinions, observations, mana’o,
pleasing, interesting, and amusing. Brings back memories of Honolulu when I lived there. Cool, mahalo. Ray P.

Turned out his mom was watching from afar, but still, I didn't want that little kid to wander onto the busy road!

I agree with Kenji. Stayed in Makaha Valley the last time I visited. My fave area so far of many stays. I'd totally live there. Loved the vibe out there. Great video!

Aloha! I was interested in that sign at Makiki community garden, and found this online" It translates as: " unfolded by the water are the faces of the flowers." The saying is better understood as, "flowers thrive where there is water, as thriving people are found where living conditions are good. Also good call on saving that kid! Thank goodness 🙏

Loving this video so much! I was born at Kapiolani Hospital. Went to Manoa Elementary, Stevenson, and grad from Roosevelt in ‘65. Have been living in Florida for past 31 years. If I could move back to Hawaii, I would definitely want to live in Manoa again! You did such a great neighborhood drive through the valley, and I love your drone footage! A little homesick right now. Aloha!❤

We are going to be starting a monthly subscription service to send you a small box of Aloha every month. Stay tuned. Also, my dad was supposed to graduate from Roosevelt and 62, but he didn’t graduate and he ended up living in Florida for 30 years in Pensacola.

You parked right in front of my place on Manoa! Also showed one of our cars in the beginning. Love living here, so lush and peaceful.

Great informative video as usual and yes, we appreciate your (and your cameraman's) local views, things that are difficult to find unless you dig through pages and pages of old forums somewhere. And props to taking care of the kid! Never looked at Manoa and Makiki (because we simply didn't know about them) but definitely we do at least a once over every area after your videos!
A couple of questions that I can't seem to readily find:
    1. Why is the northwest part of Oahu not linked by road by Kaena Point from Yokohama Bay to North side? Is it simply because there's no commercial incentive or is it more ecological?
    2. How is it possible to have leasehold and fee simple listings in the same structure for condos/townhomes? Is it that certain leaseholds just ended their leases early and the land owners sold property with the land rights while the remaining leaseholds are just in fact those that are not done with the leases?

Another fantastic video. I have been looking at Manoa, Nuuanu and the surrounding areas…your video is helpful.
As u know, real estate is so hard because we want everything while not having to pay for everything. I would love the Manoa “small town” feel, the cool moist climate, and the proximity to Town…but then I’d also want a view of the ocean which seems hard to get in Manoa.
Anyway, it will be fun to see with my own eyes some of the areas that you’ve been presenting…thx again.

I would dare to say the Manoa would be about the top neighborhood in Honolulu! No doubt. Kahala would be No. 1 but it's too expensive! Hawaii Loa and Makiki Heights is nice but it's up the hill and too much to climb the mountain everyday with your car. Your brakes would go quickly and smell every time you go down the hill.

I am grateful that you show us footage of oahu through a drone.....now i see it is overpopulated......such a shame 😳....they should never have allowed those high buildings and let this beautiful island be an island....they should put a stop on the population growth to, in order to keep it a beautiful island.....it is a shame it's in the hands of a greedy nation instead of the authentic indigenous people who respect their land. 🌈🙏☀️
