Love the Ranger Tugs. I just wish they were in my price range. I guess I'll keep rocking my 1986 President 37. Seriously love them, I just drool over the tugs..
Yes, the prices have gone up considerably . That is one reason we purchased the R25 bare bones. Sold all the other toys we had and made the investment. We didn't own a live aboard previously . Good for you to enjoy whatever works for you . The number of bigger boats out there was mind boggling. Being trailerable the R25 is perfect for our needs.
Great video! One trick for packing we like in regards to chips is to make a small hole with a pin or something to take all the air out then put a piece of tape over it.
Always looking for videos of of real world adventures and conditions out on the water as I am thinking of taking the plunge of owning a 40 plus type hole in the water for the San Juan’s 👍🏻👍🏻
Can you tell us a little bit about the orange line reel you guys use for stern tie? Is it permanently mounted to the boat or does it just sit there until you need to reel the line back in?
The orange line is sitting on a spool on the port side. It is mounted in a rod holder. Easy to pull off and wrap around a tree and run back to the boat again. We plan on doing a video about this in the future. You can imagine it’s like a big fishing reel
We just lift the motor by hand from the dinghy to the boat . The little motor Hangs on a bracket when not being used . We show installation of the bracket on another episode.
I just found you guys yesterday and I'll be following you, that's such a cool little live a board! Are Ranger tugs from the same company that makes Ranger bass boats? Cheers from CO
What made you go with the 25 vs the 23 or 27? what size is your tow truck. i retire in 5 years, im hoping to do something exciting. I'm a fan of the ranger tugs as well, compared to the Solara, Jeneau, etc. The Cuter is my second favorite.
Terrance, the R23 was just too small. The R25 was perfect for trailering and the size was acceptable. Julia would have preferred the R27 as the galley is bigger but for the price difference and towing regulations in certain states needing special permits we decided against it . We tow with 3/4 ton Chevy van . We like it because it has a ibeam construction frame. and not a unibody. Then we had Quigley install a 4wheel drive system. Quigley is an excellent after market 4 wheel drive installer. Located in Pennsylvania. we highly recommend them. All the best in your final years of work . good to have a dream to work towards!

We always said the most dangerous thing you can have on a boat is a schedule. 😉
So true Mary !
How do you store your 6hp motor and how do you get it onto the dinghy at anchor?

Welcome John! Glad to have you on board. Ranger bass boats are a different company.
