    Great video... CRP inflammation marker is very important maker in heart disease . Glad you mentioned it
    Also, if you have low tryglicerides and high HDL... ignore high LDL and total cholesterol it becomes irrelevant.
    High LDL is only relevant if tryglicerides are high and HDL is low... then worry

    Great video Stan. I like how you emphasized the main movers or drivers of inflammation, thus health deterioration. One easy suggestion to self monitor blood sugars is to just buy a glucose meter. The strips are now very cheap (Walmart) and inexpensive due to the newer continuous glucose monitors that have come on to the scene. One would just need to do a waking or fasting test a couple times a week and watch trends....

In fact, a low cholesterol level can lead to death. I'm 114 total. My doctor advised me to eat more saturated fats... from meat. There was a study that had shown apparently that if you end of in an emergency room for something serious and your cholesterol is below 100, odds are you are coming out in a body bag.

    • @dft2858
      @dft2858 3 года назад +1

      This is not medical advice. Just telling you what I did. I had the same problem(VERY HIGH BP and IBS issues) Long story short...I started eating 2 meals a day. Mimicking keto. But every meal I eat a clean protein... either wild caught cod cooked or 93% Turkey ground meat cooked. My protein per meal is no more than 6oz - 8oz. Anything more raises my blood sugar too high. My meals are like this: each meal, spinach, cabbage, onions, mushrooms. I air fry all veggies in the air fryer. 5 min on 250 degrees, with IBS or IBD, it's a must that you eat soft foods. Veggies, I don't count calories, I eat as much as I want. And then my one of two protein sources( either cod or ground Turkey). Veggies and protein. I've done this now 36 days. Lost 18 pounds. Blood pressure problems damn near gone. BP was 210/160 when I started. Now BP is 133/79 while fasting. 141/88 even after I eat a meal. I eat a meal every 12 hours. Black pepper and turmeric for my seasonings. Again, not medical advice, just hoping this information helps some others out. Don't worry about minerals or supplements, fix your eating first. Most mineral and vitamin problems fix themselves when you consistently eat clean. Also 40oz - 64oz of water a day minimum. Once again, not medical advice.

    Please do a session with your take on Reversing Insulin Resistance

    • @frodothehobo9938
      @frodothehobo9938 5 лет назад

      Increase your activity. Your body uses insulin to transport energy to the parts of the body that need it. You become insulin resistant by producing insulin your body has no need for over and over and burning out the receptors. Start making a demand for insulin and eat more "natural" carbs i.e fruit/potatoes and less table sugar

    • @johnpmcgeejr
      @johnpmcgeejr 5 лет назад

    That was a pretty good summary, except that those items are really not likely to fix high blood sugar quickly. Even moving to a strict ketogenic diet may not reduce a high blood glucose (and high insulin) level very quickly for long term obese individuals. Even full water fasting can take months to rectify some severe metabolic damage.

    Mr. Efferding, this is a bit off topic, but I know you advocate for lean ground beef, steak, bison, etc. I'm a hunter and every year(God willing) I bring home about 150lbs of whitetail venison. Would this be acceptable in exchange for the meats I named above? Also, I process the deer myself and grind a lot of it into burger. I always add some fat as venison is so lean on it's own. Would you recommend pork fat or beef tallow to grind into the meat? Or should I just leave it as is?

      Dont be vegan. Low DHA causes depression. High green diets are extremely high in oxalates, those cause depression and leaky gut, also cause kidney stones. Seeds (includes beans) are loaded with phytates and lectins, phytates block absorption of nutrients and lectins punch holes in the small intestines. Doctors that have done autopsys on vegetarians and vegans have noticed that their muscles are grey! Have you ever noticed grass fed beef is so much more red than grain fed beef? Or how some pork chops are almost white while some are robust and almost purple? The difference is nutrient absorption from the diet! No different in humans. You will eventually lose your mind if you keep going. Most disease is related to malnutrition

As a type 2 diabetic I am sick of all this deprive yourself of everything you love and exercise ( which I hate) every day, 24 hrs a day ,day after day for the rest of your life stuff. I want to eat ALL the stuff everyone else eats everyday and don't want to exercise ( Yech). I realize the industry is making billions of dollars off of us diabetics, but if you know so much why don't you cure insulin resistance so I can live a normal life instead of how to deprive myself. Don't want to finger stick constantly, and heaven forbid I should have a snickers bar. ( oh no...there goes my a1c, now my doctor will yell at me and my insurance company will send someone out to give me another lecture) I am so tired of this baloney I don't know what to do ( can't have baloney ether) don't want to eat salads for the rest of my life. Maybe if it wasn't forced on me and I had the option to diet or not and could quit whenever I wanted it wouldn't seem so bad. But to be forced forever and forever to do this is stupid.
