Can someone help me? I'm looking for a container that will hold both my pre and post workout drinks, while holding at least a gallon of ice cold water. Any advice would be appreciated.
Mario Pafundi Why the hell would i watch that idiot vegan gains, after seeing Stan explaining things with patience, science and logic, that are not only common sense but also come from experience. I think Vegan gains is a waste of time and only tries to make money from youtube using big names in his videos, besides that he is rumbling on and on about his point of view(which is just a point of view after all) A simple kid without any experience in life who thinks he has seen it all and can talk about everyone else with great authority !
devilu18 Dude thats exactly why!! People think Stan's argument (about how people can benefit from a high cholesterol diet) is on point yet fail to see it is deeply flawed!
Homemade sauerkraut helped get rid of my IBS symptoms, that and intermittent fasting. Ironically the probiotic I was taking was doing more harm than good because I didn't know I was allergic to yeast at that time which was the main ingredient in the probiotic. Thank you Stan for this information and your interview with Matt Wenning was very informative as well. Life got crazy and I fell off my diet/workout routine and gained most of what I had lost but my IBS symptoms were at a minimum even though I went off the rails which was good and reassuring that I could go back to a "normal" diet now that my IBS is in check. This time around I'm trying to loose the weight on a diet and workout schedule I can maintain even when life gets chaotic. There's no excuses with the simplicity that Stan has created in the vertical diet.
I've never ever felt so well in the gym since i started to listen to your Rhants!! red meat and whole eggs are magic in form of food. you are the best Stan! this is gold
sir can you please make a video/videos about your personal life choices or ups and downs.most of us here are young men and i think your life has great examples about everything that can help us greatly. maybe a video that evaluates your own life from start to this point and what you would do if you had a second chance to live it all again.maybe your regrets or things that you are happy with. marriage and disadvantages of getting married later, monogamy vs polygamy, things like that.most of us dont know what to do or what to think in life and i am personally very scared of my decisions and feel like im stuck. your videos about sports and nutrition helped me greatly but i think your life has greater lessons for us even more than your knowledge.maybe i am asking too much and you dont want to explain your personal decisions but i want to take a shot at this.again thank you sir ,see you in the next video
Another good message filled with important information. Thanks for the tips on how to train to eat more food I have trouble with that. On the one show I did I was doing 90 minutes of cardio 7 days a week and lifting for 90 minutes 4 days a week on 1450 calories at the end. I got down to 235 for the show, flat as a pancake.
Considering we know stans take on vegetable oils I'd be surprised if he was so casual about unnecessarily high omega 6's, easily oxidized fatty acids, inflamation etc. all the same issues that occur
He's covered this in other rants. If you intentionally avoid eating grains high in omega 6s that cause inflammation then it follows that you would avoid meats that were fattened on said unhealthy grains because an inflamed animal is a sick animal it follows its protein is also sub par. Grass fed meat has yellow fat from naturally occurring omega 3s in the grass that cows eat for example. But if you can't get grass fed the at least trim the white fat off if you're being stoic. Grass fed unsalted butter is a great source of omega 3 rich fat.
First off, thank you for doing this video series. I've learned quite a bit from you in the time watching and listening to your videos. This particular video has made the biggest difference in my training and overall health. I've noticed my energy levels have leveled out since eating specifically a ground sirloin, white rice, and no gas forming veggies, mainly a stir fry veggies (flavor is awesome with a little Worcestershire sauce). I've also noticed a better ability to consistently train 90% and above during training, which has been great in pushing to new personal records in weightlifting. Thank you again.
I can listen to you all day. I have the same type of curiosity and love and ocd lol for nutrition and exercise and what the human body is capable of. I really wish I could be involved in this type of field for a career than doing what I do. Keep up the great work man. Your hard work will continue to teach and reach and live long
Finally that was a good speech , he knows what he is talking about and he is honest !!! I liked a lot , he is not talking about bull crap like other bodybuilders !! I am eating 25000 calories cakes and pizza and hamburgers !!! Yeah you right !!! This guy he knows what he talking about , keep up your good speech 👍👍👍 thank you !
Thank you for your absolutely straight up talk about diet and calories!! As a 72 yr old power lifter( who is recovering from foot surgery) I am going to use this when I get back in the gym!! Rant on Rhino!! Dave Woods ( NYS WNPF 220# record holder squat, dead lift and bench press)
Stan - I really love and appreciate your content, it's all very useful to me. I can't help but wonder if you're on nootropics of some sort, because you are such a coherent speaker. thanks so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge with us!
I am so lucky to be able to take notes on every video I watch of you. I live in Sac and am 49 and worked out hard for 34 years. Hahaahah, I like seeing an old guy like me strong. I am learning a lot from you and will follow your advice here and there. Awesome free info each video. You are an amazing man.
Hey Stan, great rant. In regards to probiotics, one you may be unaware of is Sciff's Digestive Advantage, which touts 100x better survivability due to a patented tech it uses for its enteric coating to help survive stomach acid. There is very convincing research that the strain Bacillus coagulans helps to increase the uptake of amino acids (NOT help DIGEST it, just increase uptake), as well as help bloating, diarrhea, and general gut "feeling." Another important factor is the necessary CONCENTRATION of probiotics. The research suggests that the necessary dose needs to be much higher than the "recommended" dose on most products. For example, after accounting for 100x better survivability of the Schiff, one would still need to take 2 capsules daily to see the true benefits. All the research is great, but how is it in practice? I've personally been using it 1x before workouts and 1x after and noticed that I FEEL much better gut wise and bowel movement wise, and my performance has increased due to this. I learned of the product from my good friend, Dr. Jim Stoppani who also personally uses it this way, for what it's worth. Might be worth looking into for those interested. He also has a great article on probiotics worth reading: www.jimstoppani.com/home/articles/probiotic-roundup?preview
another great video!! thanks for posting this.really good info. so many fail to realize it's not all drugs, it's a lot of food , training , proper planning and sheer will power.
I can't believe how coherently you can speak for such a prolonged period of time as if you are reading from a script! Amazing clarity!!! You spoke about eating until full in the off season. I've found that post-show my rebound was fierce and in season I was dieting around 2200 up until my show. I'm not feeling full until 4500-5000 calories these days. I've put on 8kg in 4 weeks now. I'm wondering your thoughts on the rate at which fat is accumulated within the realm of post-competition states and the hunger that follows due to changes in leptin and other hormone imbalances. You said reverse dieting is a good concept, but you prefer calorie based eating. Is there a middle grounds for competitors whose metabolisms are "damaged"?
stanefferding sorry yeah the alternatives are listed in the subtext it's not a separate List. I wouldn't mind the only veg I really eat is spinach, broccolli and asparagus.. haha. Time for a change I guess.
I've been very consistent about my food choices for the past 18 months, focusing largely on chicken and turkey breast, rice and vegetables, eating basically the same meals virtually all the time, just upping the quantity gradually, and I've had the same experience - over time, my body got better at digesting it all. In the evenings, if I want, I can easily eat one and half pounds of chicken and the same amount of vegetables, go to sleep and wake up in the morning with flat stomach.
Wow!.. Tremendous Intel in a relatively short video!.. You can bet I'll apply your, "advises", to my training... Thanks again for getting straight to the core & for Not sugar coating anything either...
Stan, thank you so much for such a great and insightful rant! Very much appreciated. You're articulation of all issues related to this sport is wonderful. Again, thanks!
Thank you for the knowledge. I have been struggling with being bloated due to some of the foods I have been and this right answered some of the questions I had been asking myself.
I personally used Layne's reverse diet system to basically do this....went from 2,200 calories at 245 pounds to 4,400 calories at 248 pounds. Much stronger and more muscular. I was scared for so long because I was afraid I'd just get fatter but for anyone looking to try a system like this I strongly recommend it. The key is exactly as Stan said, to go very slowly and gradually and let yourself get used to the food. Thanks for the rants Stan, love them!
I have discovered that I can eat more often if I don't have too many carbs. I digest protein and fat quickly, so bacon is often on the menu. Bacon is a great source of sodium as well.
This makes a lot of sense. I remember for my first power-lifting meat I ate out the night before and felt all kinds of movement in my stomach. The 2nd time yeah i did not do that again just ate what i normally did. Thank you for going more in depth with this.
So much honest great info in these rynos rants !!!! So many knowledge bombs dropped ! Thanks Stan for these free videos I am learning so much ! I met you a couple times with Ben Seath and you were super cool . I plan on doing the emerald this yr I hope to see u there ! Take care big guy your a true role model for powerlifters and bbers all over the world !
My first video I watched of yours was the quit being so fat video. Now, I was expecting a big jacked up guy screaming and ranting and not making much sense. What I got was big jacked guy, that had a great, well spoken story to open, and some solid facts throughout. And the way you put things make it easy to understand and extremely helpful to me as far as the goals I would like achieve in the gym and in life. Already subscribed and quickly becoming my favorite youtube channel
Great content. Saw your video recently and started following you straight away. Feel sorry for the people who makes fun of the cooler and stuff. They just don’t appreciate the kind of knowledge you offer for free.
Watching this 6 years later and the information is still GREAT!
Can someone help me? I'm looking for a container that will hold both my pre and post workout drinks, while holding at least a gallon of ice cold water. Any advice would be appreciated.
doesn't exist...if it sounds too good to be true...
+E how much did you get paid by Stan to post this comment?
Depends if you want your bench to go up 100lbs?
I was looking for a scale to weigh my balls on also.
Like Scott earlier said "doesn't exist...if it sounds too good to be true..." There just isnt a scale that goes that small
The only comment here should be: thank you!
Check out vegan gainzs' recent video on Stan. Im an avid meat eater but he makes him look like an absolute ignorant fool!

I mean stan is just too awesome. everytime I listen to him I learn so much. no wasted words with this guy. keep up the good work dude.
"Time to let the vegans and bro science comments commence." Hahaha! You're the Stan man!
26 minutes long?! I'm gonna need my Kooler for this one
Forget The Kooler, you should be giving classes on how to speak like that.
That'll be a great business!
U killed me with "I Went on the seafood diet(what i heard), everything i see i eat."
These Rhants are the most informative videos out there. Stan, you are the real deal!
Stan is just as good at selling Steak as he is the Kooler
Did you know it stores a gallon of ice water?
Thanks Stan Efferding! Your rants are gold!
Your content is the REAL bodybuilding bible, thanks for sharing your precious thoughts!
You're one of the most knowledgable dudes on the web concerning these topics, love these rants, keep 'm coming!
It's actually really impressive that you can talk this well, while also driving.

Stan Efferding is my hero.
thanks man, big help
Pure gold! so much useful information!
I'd like to know Stan's take on grass fed vs factory farm beef, vis a vis fatty acid profile.
I'm sure his opinion is that while grass fed is slightly better, it's not worth it on a money to quality ratio.
Considering we know stans take on vegetable oils I'd be surprised if he was so casual about unnecessarily high omega 6's, easily oxidized fatty acids, inflamation etc. all the same issues that occur
He said he got all his meat from a local butcher. Chances are it was probably grass-fed.
He gets most of his beef from Costco.
He's covered this in other rants.
If you intentionally avoid eating grains high in omega 6s that cause inflammation then it follows that you would avoid meats that were fattened on said unhealthy grains because an inflamed animal is a sick animal it follows its protein is also sub par.

But if you can't get grass fed the at least trim the white fat off if you're being stoic.
Grass fed unsalted butter is a great source of omega 3 rich fat.
The eating and meal planning IS the hard part. 100% agree
Thank you sir for the free info.
