16:57 Fun fact, related to the V-Pet episode: The series director for Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 0, Hiroyuki Kakudo, would later go on to direct the first two seasons of the Digimon anime, Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02.
Regarding episode 1, yes. Tetsu Trudge is Tetsu Ushio. He's also known as Demetrius in the Dungeon Dice Monsters video game. That's what makes the timeline so crazy, because I guess Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's happens at the absolute most 30-40 years after Duel Monsters.
My man please keep this up. @@Gannonhhit’ll be even funnier to find something out, the most recent piece of Medabot material misnamed the franchise, the digimon vital bracelet called them “Medarots” on accident
Loving your videos, I haven't seen Season 0 but I have read the manga and its so cool to not only see what they added, but to also see what they changed. A good example being that the Capsule Monsters episode showed some random guy being the antagonist when in the manga it was actually Mokuba. Also Miho was a one off character in the manga who Honda had a thing for, thankfully she didn't stick around in the manga lol
20:33 fun fact: Takahashi had scenes like that in the early manga to, it was like flavor text on a vanilla monster, but it justified the effect, it was cool
29:58 The evil guy from this episode is impossible to take seriously for me because his VA is the same as Hattori Heiji from Detective Conan because their personalities are so fricking different but they have the exact same voice lol. I love this series!
2:06 yes, in Japanese he’s Officer Ushio, aside from the Joey/Jesse Wheeler thing that’s the only direct Duel monsters reference we got past GX until Zexal made Dark magician legendary BECAUSE of Yuugi
Oh my goodness yes you're back, with season 0 nonetheless :D. I always wonder to be honest where Yu-Gi-Oh! would of been if the card game in this original series didn't sky rocket to be as popular as it is.
Lesson learned. When the hype is consistent and not so over the top, you better believe the hype. Reminds me of how people spoke of "The bear" being such a good show but I never got around to watching it until late last year. Now I get it. But yeah, yugioh season 0 really is that good.
you can definitely get a sense for what this franchise was suppose to be by reading the early chapters or the manga or watching this season of the anime. villains that only pop up once will just have a random game that they'll play with Yugi but recurring villains will have specific games that are almost exclusively associated with them. Kaiba plays Duel Monsters, Mokuba plays Capsule Monster, and Bakura plays Dungeons and Dragons. I imagine if Takahashi had continued the manga with this format we would have gotten more new games occasionally, the only real remnant of that in the rest of the franchise is Dungeon Dice Monsters. once this series and the world it takes place in become entirely focused on Duel Monster everything just went off the rails.
18:53 Pretty sure it says "I'd like to thank you for taking care of the pet. Come to XX Warehouse". I'm not exactly sure what "the pet" refers to as I didn't watch the episode so don't get the full context, so it could easily translate to "my pet". At any rate, I can see why people think it says "meme" warehouse, as the X looks very similar to the katakana letter for "me". But the double X is just there to replace an actual name of place so that the anime doesn't have to provide one for the audience. They do this often with phone numbers where they show the first few numbers and the rest are just Xs.
The reason it feels like the end of a season and not a series is because it's exactly that. Or atleast it's that In The manga. Duel monsters is a sequel series but Yu-gi-oh! Is still cannon with Yu-gi-oh! duel monsters and Yu-gi-oh! R
What?... Episode 14 was like, my favorite one, and it's just ok!! Also, yes, the fortune teller probably burnt that kids' house down, but the more important question is how did he cause the earthquake he predicted? Lol.

Having recently started reading the Manga, I honestly think the anime version is superior for the most part. A lot of the "Game of the week" stories are expanded on and feel less rushed, Tristan is given a bit more uniqueness to his character with his gimmick in Season 0 (and in general is a LOT more involved) and Kaiba is a much better reoccurring antagonist (he literally loses in his debut and doesn't probably show up until the Death T saga, which is so odd compared to how he's used in this anime). 48:45 The answer to this is yes since between the first duel and Kaiba's second appearance was a larger space of time.
This is a bit of a spoiler but in the manga's adaptation of Death T Kaiba admits to getting the other three BEWD in, let's just say, very unconditional ways
32:29 Nah, bro, in this case, it's a perfectly valid question since you're asking about a Japanese-made show depicting a Japanese high school. Btw I Googled it. Yes, Judo is a PE class students can take in Japan.

I asked Manga if they planned to release season 0 since they had the licence at the time, no confirmation though 32:25 wouldn't worry about it, Japanese aren't really that easy to offend. they would just take thequestion as a honest attempt to learn 34:20 you missed the best part of this episode, jounouchi and Honda talking about it complete with a funny scene in their heads
Am I tripping? I swear there was a scene where Joey throws the last piece of the puzzle into the school swimming pool and gets it back later for yugi and that’s how they became friends.

Dude, your green screen setup looks really clean, But when you go to chroma key it, your still getting a lot of chatter. Do you need me to help you out with your Green Screen Key?
Yes. I'm not sure how much of this was from poor scheduling or from executive decision or from simply censorship, but there are many games/situations that are either more graphic in the source or were cut. Here are some examples: Jounouchi vs "Dragon1" along the pipe was a game "One Inch Terror" where Jounouchi (and only he) has a knife gripped by his teeth where one bad punch means death; when inviting the game to Death-T Mokuba plays a game of Food Russian Roulette (that he loses and has an antidote for) which got cut; Kaiba's adoptive father didn't just "look" down to put it lightly. Oh and btw about the mokuba example, the capsule monsters game of yugi vs that crybaby who loved miho was originally a game of yugi vs mokuba as revenge for seto losing (not a draw in manga), complete with the capsule rigging; after losing both that and the roulette game I think seto is completely justified in thinking his brother isn't capable of besting yugi on floor 4 despite mokuba's high score feats and such. Even in the Duel Monsters 4Kids decided to make there were censors from JP manga to JP anime. Things like Panik duel (instead of flamethrowers it was....rope) or the "kaiba ghost/impersonator" being a creepy puppet master or the rather infamous scene of Pegasus having Keith play a russian roulette penalty game come to mind. The tone of consequences and frequency of changes didn't change after the duelist kingdom arc either; the Dungeon Dice Monsters arc was completely reworked in the anime (certainly due to Mr. Clown; look him up if you don't know). I could go on and on about examples but I should probably sleep some time soon.
