Only surviving member. Cass died at 33, John at 65 and Denny at 66. Michelle is now 78 and appears to be very happy and surrounded by loving family. Stunningly beautiful. Men wanted her and women wanted to be her. She is so honest yet respectful. Love her. Absolute legend
Beautiful and Smart! An American treasure.
So very smart I just adore her.
I'm 36 and I still listen to California Dreamin from time to time I heard the song because of my grandmother she used to play it over and over she didn't know much English but I tell you she knew every word to this song I think of her every time I listen to it......
What a nice story, thank you for sharing it ❤
She was.more than a sweet voice and a perfect partner for Cass Elliot .. She really has a magnetic personality.. Like it or not..She has her own opinion and self confidence..!! I really like her personality !
So true well said, magnetic fits Michelle.
Awesome interview
Michelle is Timeless like their music
The songs hold up, that’s for sure.
Such a place in “Rock History....”
Love ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ u michelle phillips
I just can't get over how eloquent Michelle really is.
Do people these days do not know how to speak, so a normal communication is considered a miracle or some intelligence. That is when people stop thinking for themselves and start living like walking zombies!
Although they worked with the Wrecking Crew, I always thought that the instrumentation did not rise to the level of the vocals. Also, I think the quality of the recordings suffered because of the crudity (relative to today) of the recording processes, such as four track recording, bouncing, etc. I wish we could magically re-record their albums with today's studios and equipment. They would sound much better.
on the contrary I think the sound is wonderful despite the limitations, yes it's not like today, but that 'Spector' type wall of sound is beautiful.
@@noeldouglas Sorry, but I don't think the Wrecking Crew for Mamas and Papas sounds anything like the Spector Wall Of Sound. Spector used tons of doubling, reverb, large groups, whereas the Mamas and Papas stuff was very easy to identify individual bass, drums, guitar, etc. It always sounded thin and underdone to me.
Couldn't disagree more. Let's get rid of Pro Tools and go back to 4 track. It's OK to be musical!
@@boydcannon422 Their vocals & harmonies remain superb.
I would love some information on this video;who was the interviewer and does anyone know if the documentary on the M&P,that he refers to in this piece, anywhere on the internet.Im sure he was referring to the documentary that was shot in the recording studio as they rehearsed and recorded Trip,Stumble and Fall.I saw the most awesome version of that song that one could imagine. The LP version while nice,is nothing compared to the arrangement I heard that night.I have a great memory of things that impress me,this did.If anyone knows of the documentary I'm talking about, please leave a reply so I might revisit it.It was an ABC television special,if memory serves.Thanks.
Echos In The Canyon, check that out. Its not the doc you are asking about but uts a doc made by Dylan's son.
It says in the notes- Interviewer: Steven B Williams - unfortunately Steven was murdered in 2006 :(
@@Creativeworxmotionmedia thanks for the info.
Don't forget The Wrecking Crew Mama!
she must be 100 years old now! She didn't even know how to sing, even John would tell you that if he was alive! She was pretty and they needed her, she had her indiscretions with everyone!
crap
I think this is longer than 6 years ago
I think it was put on RUclips 6 years ago
@@evaneeurlich4799 It was in 1999. Posted in 2015.. maybe I should put the shoot year date in the title :)
@@Creativeworxmotionmedia I think it would save some confusion, Hello from New Zealand
@@evaneeurlich4799 Hello Hello :)
6 anos atrás ? Veja como ela está agora.
Incredible how pragmatic she is..
I wonder, what's her age in this interview?
If interview is from 1999, Holly Michelle Gilliam Phillips was born on June 4, 1944. Thus, she would have been 55yo & looking good !
still gorgeous...
