Great Video, Very interesting to see how this critical and often overlooked capability is taught and perfected. EOD may not seem as glamours as Heavy Armour, Aviation or precision artillery, but it is just as important in achieving combined arms manoeuvre. Anyway who doesn’t love a few explosives!👍

So after some digging I see plenty of negative comments. The combat engineers course guys and what not, You have to understand there is alot going on behind the scenes with this Regiment. These guys are basically the equivalent of the US Army's Security Force Assistance Brigades (SFAB) but with a cooler name. Claiming they're in the league of Army SF is a joke.
Okay but what’s with the emojis? Ranger Regiment take those skills and apply them to combat situations I guess, probably behind enemy lines. Unlike combat engineers who have to be supported by other arms if it’s in a combat zone

I taught B2 Combat Engineers a long time ago and it was always taught that you detonated to the face of the target, I am surprised that bulk explosive didn't slide off the target being detonated from the end, however this worked maybe because of the knots in the PE. Get as much as you can from that training people because you never know when you may need it. BTW we did carry explosives in Engineer tanks, CET's, AVRE's and Bridgelayers mainly for battle sims.

It’s heavy. If you were asked to walk 10 miles and there’s a possibility you need to blow something up do u want to take 2kg of explosives or 40kg and bring 38 back.
Special forces selection is way harder than ranger regiment which is just regular infantry units given extra training, as far as I know. You can’t really throw money at the SAS and expect more blokes to pass without lowering standards
Increase the SAS and SBS? Why don’t you join then and help increase it? Sure with your skills on COD and as a seasoned keyboard warrior you’d fly through.
Let me explain this to you. Britain has an all volunteer army and marine corps. Training standards are high. Professional. There are boring old county regiments who are better trained than some nations so called "special forces". There is also the fact that there is no direct entry into the SF in Britian. Which as it should be, otherwise you end up with money pit units like the SEALs that are filled with steroid using white supremacists who lack prior military experience. Don't confuse our armed forces with the American ones. Different animals. We have higher overall standards and there is less of a need for so called "special" forces.
When this country is in a civil war with those who don't share our common values/laws, I wonder if the Army would deploy to defend British people or would it stand aside for fear of being deemed racist and let the indigenous be slaughtered?

This isn't EOD though, it's Dems. They're practicing demolitions, not the disposal of explosive ordinance.
It's not EOD it's basic Royal Engineer skills. EOD only became fashionable when forensic evidence started to become a requirement.

Not much of an expert when 50% of what was shown on video worked.
So why is an outside agency doing this training and not RSME?
Good question.
Could be a lack of slots on RE courses for non RE personnel.
Because this private contractor is much more practical, and own a way better range for dems. And they design and build their own kit for dems
