A secret fun fact. When people make claims that Subaru makes the motors , you should know that Toyota (owning a portion of Subaru ) builds the engines with the same division they made the modern Camrys .
First off, very well done video. Second, I've owned an outback, WRX, STI and a FRS. Never had a head gasket issue. Also rebuilt a ej20 and an ej25..... Is the only issue with your engine is a head gasket issue. That's as easy as replacing the clutch. They can be issues but don't always require a full rebuild. Love my Subaru engines and they do have problems... Yet the only time I had an issue was when my brother went way past redline and spun my bearing. All cars have issues. The low down weight and boxer rumble... The engine may not go half a million miles but the pros out weigh the benefits.
Such fun cars , mine is a 2020 BRZ , the 2017 facelift got a few upgrades - better intirior , shorter gears to manage the Torque dip a bit (tuning it out would have been better subie , thanks!) , better Sachs dampers , and some tweaks. great cars , very financially friendly in insurance, maintenance etc... and like you mentioned Aftermarket is insane. It can even turn head a bit (not a ferrari of course , but they get some attention from the uninitiated - what is that?? ) It's my daily driver , love it! P.s Driving with a passenger is always funny , the intial drop on the passanger sit is large , people are not used to it at all , so much fun , don't even get me started on the back well , shelfs really , not seats. Hope we see gen III
my 320HP 2015 BRZ has been turboed with e85 flex fuel (SME F-bomb) for over 8 years and has been reliable , it all depends on the tune and maintenance . It is a stereotype that subi motors blow up when you look at them wrong but that was the old EJs. The FA engines are much stronger (esp the new FA24 in the 2nd gens) and head gasket issues are unheard of for the FA engines
Yayyy Markyyyy!!! Wait? New age Miata? You know Mazda still makes the Miata right? Its more of a new age ae86 levin/trueno. I'll bet the car has turnsignal issues because it's distantly related to BMW through the Supra!
I'm a car guy anytime I game I use the g920 with 6 speed shifter but for real life driving I love autos. What's some good auto cars with sporty edge to them?
I just purchased a 2018 BRZ Ts or Sti... it has 60k miles on it, and I wanted your opinion on what the best oil for this car is and can I adjust by coilovers to stop them from bottoming out. They clunk with a bump. Dealership said it was because they where adjusted to the lowest setting.?
My 2014 frs still running strong with 125k miles on it, never had any issues, basic maintenance kept it running great
Bro mark i JUST switched to wanting an FRS over a RSX recently and you posting this video is PERFECT timing. Keep it up.
I am still deciding between the two because brz reliability is concerning whereas rsx is very reliable
