Bassmaster Open: Sam Rayburn Day 2! (Day in the Life of a Bassmaster Pro) Dealing with Adversity!

- Day two of the Bassmaster Open on Sam Rayburn was trying, to say the least. What I have learned over the years is you have to put your head down, find positive features of the day, and move on. Confidence is key. No reason to dwell on the negative, at that point there's nothing you can do to change it. Be positive and keep fishing. I really hope you like this video. Let me know if you do! I've enjoyed the videos man! I appreciate how you interact with your co anglers. A guy I'd like to be a co angler with for sure. Best of luck.
I really enjoy the after tournament recap. I'm always interested in how people make adjustments throughout a tournament.
This next one will be pretty good
Andrew, really like the content and the way you’re showing us how you make decisions (just awesome). I have a hero 8 and when I plug it into the boat I keep the battery in and it works great.
That’s interesting. I’ll try it.
Great video. I like these type of videos. Not all tournaments go perfectly, awesome to see you put your head down and get it done.
Andrew, great video I love your honesty and straight forward attitude. Been following you, Bradley and Todd for some time now and always look forward to seeing your posts. Thanks again, best of luck on tour and keep the terrific content coming brother.
I watch and like your videos. Usually good stuff when I can't get out and fish. Keep them coming.
Thanks Tom!
That’s so cool seeing them swim to the boat and then catching them under it! Another good video!
Thanks Lance!
Man I love watching your videos. Always gets me fired up. Fished Sacramento Delta yesterday and just had a terrible morning but stuck with it , got a 4 and a 5 in the afternoon and ended up wit a 17 pound bag....good for me. Yup lost poles, lost cameras and lost nets....happens to everybody. Thanks for taking the time to make your videos. You will be at 10,000 subs soon!
Fingers crossed! Just gotta keep grinding, that’s what I tell myself anyways.
Keep on trucking Andrew, Never doubt yourself and always follow your gut and don't over think it. I know this is easier said then done. Good job on the video! Looks forward to the Hartwell video!
I’m worried about the Hartwell video 😂
Love the aerial pics at take off!
Co-angler here that watches all of your videos. Keep it up!
Thanks Brent!
You do a great job with videos. I really enjoy them. I learn so much for them.
Thanks for the kind words Leroy!
Good Stuff Andrew! Between you, Scott Martin, and B-Lat ive learned so much over the past few months and cant wait for my first boat in a couple months.
Pretty awesome Kyle. Glad you watch
After watching what the winner and top finishers were doing, you were right there doing what you should have been doing. I live on Rayburn and those brush pile fish can be such a timing thing, its crazy. An hour difference in when you hit a certain pile can make a big difference. Those big fish eat only at a small window of time and if you happen to be there you will be golden, if not you catch the line burners. I enjoy the videos and voice over!
Thanks for watching. Yea, it’s tough looking for your shoulder watching the leader of the event catch a 7lber on a place you just fished.
Glad to see you fish with my guy Mo! Great video bro 😎
He was awesome!
Good video. I follow you, Castledine, Martin, Hallman, and others. I like how you threw in some tips as well! Keep it up and good luck on the rest of the season!
Thanks a ton!
Great job & the Voice over is awesome when your doing your breakdowns. We can hear you clear & I think it gives you time to put together a more informative presentation. Just lots more of a pain in the ass for you. LOL. GREAT VID !!!
😂it’s worth it if y’all like it though, but yea it takes about two times longer to edit then.
Hey Andrew, Great videos. I’m a huge SMC fan and always have enjoyed seeing you, billy, Todd, Bradley and Scott all cutting up. I also enjoy the breakouts where his videos will follow each of you for a piece. Your videos being part technique, part talk thru, are a nice balance of what I look for. Learning and always laughing, that’s my motto. Keep up the hard work.
Thanks for watching. I try really hard to bring good content.
Great video. Keep them coming. Can't wait to see yall at Hartwell. It's right up the road from me.
Heck yea buddy!
Enjoyed the video Andrew. Keep em coming.
Good stuff. I love how you presented the perspective from a pro point of view. Keep pushing and fish strong
Always🤜
Nice one. See ya on the next one. Congrats on 9k subs.
Thanks buddy. See ya soon
Good stuff! Appreciate the time you take to post these.
Thanks Ashley!
You get on them next time. I think next year I want to fish a few of the North bass Opens as a co-angler. Just waiting for the list of lakes to drop for 2021. Great video. You Todd and a few others on the Strike King and Lews team guys have me running baits from them not using them before and they are straight catching fish for me. Keep up the awesome work.
That’s awesome man! Glad they are working for you
I forgot I was watching, thought I was fishing, nice job !
That’s awesome!
Great video keep them coming i watch all the time i learn alot
Thanks Jonah!
Great after action analysis and report. Keep up the great work?
Thanks Dennis!
Good luck on Hartwell this week. Thats my home lake and its been rough on there this summer. Cant wait to see how you, Scott, Randy and Brandon break this lake down...
Heck yea. Should be a good tournament!
I learn a ton when the audio goes out. I love the voice over because you can explain the method more thoroughly. I know it is impossible while you're actually fishing. I have learned a ton from you and Scott Martin even though I fish deep reservoirs in AZ. I watch all your stuff so please keep it up and keep plugging away this season! I also hardly comment, but since yku asked so nicely here it is. Lol
Heck yea Andy! Thank you for taking the time to comment. I’ll be traveling out to Mead in a few weeks. Love fishing out west.
I enjoy watching these and would like to see more.
More on the way!
Garmin needs to use your catch in a commercial. See a few fish swimming up to the boat and drop on them and catch one. 🔥🔥🔥
Right!??
Thank you , great info on the size of weight that you are flipping grass, I’m a local on Rayburn , you are doing great videos
Thanks for watching. Hope the tips help!
Sucks you lost your spinning rod but thank you for showing us that even the pros mess up too. I lost one but luckily for me the water was only 8 feet deep, so I went in after it. Thanks for the video.
Oh, I felt horrible. Mine was in about 25’, so not much chance of me getting it.
I like all the tips you give....helps a lot
Thanks Jeff
Andrew, good video again. I enjoy watching the real videos of what goes on in tournaments, the good, bad and the ugly. I like your live commentary of what your thoughts etc are while your fishing, and not live when your audio goes out. Owell. Ya, i think on tough days, u bust out the dropshot more often. Do u ever try shad type of baits on the drop shot? If not, try some! They work good for me. Good job hanging in there at the end and catching fish in last hour. U earned an IKE, Never Give Up t-shirt. LOL
I want to start a go fund me for that lost spinning combo overboard! LOL It is painful to watch and for all of us it is not "if" but "when" we have rod (S) go overboard. Great job and thanks for the hard work producing video content.
😂 heck yea, I like the way you think! Totally kidding!
Great video and information Andrew 💯👍👍
Thanks buddy!
That sinking feeling when the rod goes overboard.
Agreed
@@AndrewUpshawFishing You're getting old son. Back in your younger days you would've got before it was out of sight, lol.
Squirrel @ 18:54 was like oh shit Andrew is dropping knowledge
😂😂😂
Congrats on staying consistent
Thanks Larry!
Proud of you brother
As a Co angler myself a dropshot all day will get that limit 95 percent of the time. It is mentally saying YES this is what I am going to do! #RippinLipsInc
Great info! Enjoy watching you! Thank you.
Thanks for explaining your gear!
For sure!
really like the tournament breakdown vlogs
Thanks for the feedback, Zack!
Hey love what you do. I also enjoy the way you work with your co-anglers really respect that. My brother is a co-angler and fish the tournament. Clarence Schwarz is the name.
Heck yea. How did he do? I treat everyone the way I want to be treated, momma’s rules!
Andrew Thanks again, I really like the voice over for learning etc
Appreciate it Chris! Learning everyday
I think that as long as you can come away with some valuable information it’s still a win, yeah it bites when we have some bad luck but it’s something you can take with you everywhere.
Good job brother I hope you all of team smc make it to the bassmaster
Fingers crossed!
Grear set up with flipping rig. I also through 8/1 when flipping 👍👍
Thanks Steve!
You make me feel as that I am right there with you and you want us to fish with you. Great show again, where are we going next .
Thanks Jerry. That’s what I’m going for!
Well made. Fishing that far south to me would be a mystery.
It’s interesting to say the least
Video is on point. I really like the anger therapy ones y’all do. I hope all of you make the classic this year cause it’s by the house and would love for my 7 year old grandson to see you guys in person. We gonna start him off on tournaments next year. Anyways keep grinding and stop letting castlerock get the best of you. 😝
Thank you for the awesome comment! I hope we do too!
Keep up the hard work buddy
Thanks buddy! Hope you and the family are well!
Also like Scott and B-Lat, I enjoy the tournament progression. Because like you guys have pointed out each day is unique and changes for better or worse.
No doubt. Good to see the good days and the bad days.
Great great video!!
Thanks Darrell!
great video!!!
Hey!!! You are too close to one of my favorite spots in this video! 😂
😂
i like your presentation, very informative. New sub.
Thanks Tomas. Appreciate the sub and view!
Thanks for the recap Andrew. Your GoPro sound issue may be related to amperage. Say for example the camera requires 2.5 amps to run the video and mic. Yet the boat USB only puts out 1.5 amps. In which case the GoPro may disable the mic. Just a though..
Good luck in your next event.
I think you are absolutely right!
Great vid
Thanks Jason!
Good video, when you had a fish follow your worm in and the one that hit your Jackhammer when you sped it up wondering did you try burning a rattletrap or spinnerbait
I bet you’re right!
Your doing fine, you'll get videos dialed in just keep fishing.
Thanks. I’m about to buy an 8 for my console lol
I hope to fish with you at Cherokee! It'll be my first ever BASS, and Co angler tournament.
I hope so buddy!
I got my new Nitro Z20 with the 250 proxs back in may and I love it (so far). I know you have put about a million more hours on your's so I was wondering how you like it and if you have had any problems? I'm sure it's difficult to give a negative response since it's what you are running but you know where I'm coming from.
To be honest, I love the motor. I had one issue at Clear Lake, but that was a recalled part in the lower unit. I’ve put some time in since getting it fixed and haven’t had an issue. I’m a big fan of it honestly.
Andrew i know im a little late sorry !! First thing i want to thank you and Hallman & Castledine for helping on my Fantasy Picks , I had Welcher , Logan ,Weilder $ Zadain lol . Also i have a Brute Magnet in boat at all times just incase a rod goes overboard !! Which let's face stuff happens right . Besides that's how i get my tackle lol just kiddin , but you would be amazed at what you find at ramps.. @BruteMagnets they have different weights I got a 1,200 lb one for like $80 and comes with good small carrying case and 50ft of quality rope .. They call it Magnet Fishing on RUclips , Go figure lol. Hey who knows if ever somehow which is unlikely you don't make a check perhaps you could drop Magnet and pull up a pot of gold lol . Thanks for everything & keep being you always !!! Not Hallman or Castledine LOL . All three of ya are TOP NOTCH GUYS and GOOD for the sport !!! No it doesn't weigh 1,200 lbs Castledine it's a rating as to what it will hold vertical on clean flat metal surface . It's not real heavy or bulky incase your wondering plus if you had one you would be fishing with that spinning outfit today , they seem to cost a tad bit more than a Zebco these days lol .. GOD BLESS you and all that you do and stand for !!! Like your team on Sante Cooper . Sorry so long & one last quick trick Bill Dance told me 40 yrs ago . He told me i would catch more fish if every time i cast , I would believe i was getting bit !!! Didn't realize untill later in life what he meant .. All I can say is I'm always ready to set the hook .. Get ready for the Elites cuz thats where your going bud !! oh i know all rods & reels are made with lighter metals , that's the reasoning behind 1,200 lb mag any little hard metal screw and it will pick up just pull up slow and steady ,, also drive safe slow and steady to each stop this and every year !!!
I’ll see you in Alabama! Fishing Co
Good luck!
Video idea after Hartwell you could come an hour and half south to Lanier and teach me how to dial Lanier in because I suck on Lanier. I’ll pay you too. But hopefully you cash a big check and don’t need it lol.
I wish I could man, I love Lanier!
Andrew Upshaw Fishing lol I knew it was a long shot but would be a cool video helping a subscriber break their local lake down. Maybe in the future. Just remember my idea 🤣
Enjoy the video's good luck at the next open!
Thanks buddy!
Good stuff! I had one of those "grind" kind of days on the water today. Will you be fishing the Open at Hartwell?
I’m here in the parking lot as we speak!
Also not sure how deep it was where you lost your rod, but hopefully you marked it and went back with a bare weighted hook and tried to get it.
With everything that went on with 2020 do you ever have second thought on not staying at FLW well still fishing the opens?
Not in the slightest. Had I stayed, I would never had made a RUclips channel
Andrew Upshaw Fishing Thats a fare answer.
Don't forget about that bullworm flipping this time of year / just try it you wont be sorry / love the vids
Thanks Forrest! I won’t forget
Bullworm flipping? Is that a brand name or special technique?
@@TheFishdoctor1952 - its a strike king Kvd bait / no special technique just flipping a big worm and Rayburn bass like it / Toledo bend not so much
@@forresterb6594 Thanks for the reply.
Sorry dude I just watched your Clear Lake video but I would still like to hear what your answer is to the previous question.
Just replied🤜
Rayburn kicked my butt.. woulda could of should of... lol we all do it
Heck yea, feel that!
Is there a time where you would use all blue plastics?
You can flip Sapphire Blue at the James/Potomac River’s or just about anywhere in Florida.
Andrew the videos are good man keep it up my name is kev offill and id like to talk to you about my lake it's a rough one I catch good ones out of it but sometimes its beyond hard holla at me thanks for the content bub
Whatcha got?
How do you zero in on a flipping weight? Trial and error?
Trial and error is the best way, but it also depends if I’m flipping through a bush or punching through a mat.
Did your co a catch any
I have had problems with that media mod and getting audio!
Super dumb. Spend that kind of money and get a dud
Andrew Upshaw Fishing yeah I was super excited to use it and literally like every other clip would have audio. I think it happens because when we turn on gopro on it’s still figuring out the settings so we hit record right away and it doesn’t have time to switch over the audio. If that makes sense!
Again, I’m one that don’t comment a lot. Lot of others I follow never answer and I figure most of them aren’t reading it
I always answer. Well, maybe sometimes I miss, but I make it a point to.
We all know why there was no sound i would have said some un choice words after I lost my spinning rod
😂😂😂
Thanks. I’m about to buy an 8 for my console lol
Right?
