Great review, spot on I’ve owned it since October and I love it, especially with the upgrade to the SRAM AXS eTouch shifter in the rear. Incredibly my first MTB, your review makes me feel even better about my purchase as an MTBing newbie.
Orange Stage Evo can be built up around 24 pounds and has the ultimate downcountry geometry. You definitely need to get your hands on one for a test. I think you will be quite surprised.
@@davidarthur Agree! I own an XTR Stage EVO and it is great, I like this style of bikes so much I wanted a carbon/fancy option so am building up a Yeti SB115 too - AXS/Carbon wheels etc - should really shift and look clean.
Not sure why people ride the Large frame and then complain the Yeti is too short. Step up to an XL with tt comparable to others and problem solved. Yes, Yeti needs to update their sizes but, the XL option is there!
Thanks for the great review, the 115 is on my short list for my first new MTB since building (And still riding.) my Chumba XCL Be cool if you could review and compare the new Evil Following and Transition Spur with the 115. Was very interested in the reach comments, not many have mentioned the “short” number of the 115.
Lovely bike and great review - always wanted a Yeti and in the market now - do you think the 130 will have better geometry? Is that short reach going to hold back a not very good rider (like me!) - thanks!
I have a 130 which is a great bike. Loves to go fast and can handle anything thrown at it. It's a bit of a handful in the tight stuff though. I have one flow trail I go to that is very tight and not real fast. I test rode a 115, fell in love and bought it. I know most people can't do that so it basically depends on what the main type of riding you'll be doing.
You must live near me as I recognize many of the roads you film on but I don't know these woods. Where are they? as I have lost my mojo on the road bike lately and want to do more MTB this winter. :-)
i HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT A 2021 115 WITH THE XO/XX-1 KIT, ITS THE C-2 MODEL, PRICE IS 7800.00 USD, NO NOT CHEAP BUT IF RESALE IS GOOD DEPRECIATION SHOULD BE OK
You simply cannot be serious that the issues you consider to be material on a MTB are as mindless as the company badge. Reviews are about how it rides, not how it looks in the car park??
Yeti, like so many other "boutique" brands, is charging way too much for way too little. Yes, they're a small company, but so are many others (YT, Canyon, & Rose) and in those others the value proposition is being defined. I think Yeti would benefit from following a similar sales model to those direct to consumer brands, to reduce their own costs, reduce the cost to their customers , and boost sales by making their products more accessible and reasonably priced.
@@davidarthur Haha, it was just funny because there are so many cool things about this bike you could have said first. Great review though. Road a 110 yesterday sweet bikes.
Very good review David, as always, love your style and honesty. 👌
I love mine! My first 29” wheel bike

Yeah it’s the perfect newbie bike 😂
I recommend you also get a hard tail to teach you to find good lines. Hard tails are ideal to start with to develop basic skills.

Good recommendation thanks I’ll try can check one out

Nice squirrel at 01:50 🐿️
This why we practice MTB - because all fun is out there !!!!

Nice film of you riding the bike, where is most of the riding done?
Always wanted a yeti but years ago it was a over the phone order to America only. Great pedigree.

Yeti needs to bring back the sb5
.Great review...sick bike.....
Dropper post cable housing is the culprit to noise

Thanks. The short reach won’t necessarily hold you back, it still rides very well, I just feel a longer reach would have made it even better
I have a SB130 and its the perfect all around bike. It pedals great and its a beast on the descend.

@@davidarthur as mentioned, do you think sizing up to an XL would have negative effects?

Some of it was filmed in the Forest of Dean and some in more local woods
How does the SB115 compare to the Santa Cruz blur? What does specialized offer for this type of bike?
Hows the sizing on the yeti sb115? Im 5'9 with 30inch inseam, should i go M or L? Thanks in advance
Same height and inseam as you and I was wondering this as well... M or L?
Definitely the large. You want to go one size up from your normal on the 115.
Dream machine. I love it. Want one ;-) But shame about the geometry and price. Will have to remain a dream machine :-/

If 475 reach is your sweet spot, why didn't you up size to a XL? It has a reach of 470.
Supply is the main issue and really I shouldn't have to size up to get the modern geometry we riders want these days don't you think?
great review...
Loos like some of this was shot in Box Woods?
A bit further north, around Painswick and also Forest of Dean
@@davidarthur ahhh. It was that drop to the right that had me convince it was Box.
Just looking for a MTB that doesn't need any upgrades for a while.
This looks so light

Im sure they doing fine the way they're operating... "Way too much for way too little"? Im pretty sure you've never own one
This or the Izzo David, slightly different but comparable in many ways.
The Izzo for its geometry and value for money. Compared to the SB130 I want to arrange a ride on, well that might be a different outcome
@@davidarthur just to many great bikes, that’s the problem. Love the channel 👍
I know right! Just when I think I’ve found the perfect bike, something new gets launched.
da baby
Good review except for the first two "5 things I love," the look and head badge? C'mon, you were doing pretty good being objective until then. Haha
I’m not allowed to comment on looks? 🧐

oh yeah, everything fantastic fantastic, hahaha, bad geometry meets uglyness meets arrogant prices. great
Pretty bike..., on the price of a small new BMW...
