    Mrs. Cunningham will always hold a piece for my heart. As someone who struggled for years with dyslexia back in the days it wasn't common knowledge and being called dumb by teachers she was my light at the end of a very dark tunnel. She owned a school for kids just like me and to this day talking to old school mates those years at that school make us the happiest. It was just a loving and learning environment.

      Thank you so much!! My husband died when I was 26 (I’m 29 now) and I didn’t think I could do any of this without him. Well I am! And I honestly couldn’t without support, especially from strangers who don’t even have to be kind to me. So thank you, it means more than you know ❤️

      @@brittanyream9872 ⚘Hi Brittany! I just read your thank you message. Oh, you're welcome. My heart and prayers are with you. Life can be so tough but it's the grace and love of God that makes us strong enough to endure. What a blessing you have been to walk this walk and show your child or children that you can make it through any storm. You are an example to many people. Yes, its true, many would fail but you rose up and did your best. Each day you will be stronger and stronger. Hold on to the beautiful memories that you have of your husband and share those with your child (or children) and loved ones. Your message here will teach others today to love one another. We are all CHILDREN OF GOD, and in Gods Word, we are called to LOVE ONE ANOTHER. We may be strangers but our hearts are united. Be encouraged today to be STRONG and PRAY each day. Just His Name "JESUS" is a prayer all by Itself. Call on Him. He knows what you need. "JESUS!" He will provide as you walk with Him. Love, Peace, Prayers and an online (((HUG)))! GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. Lynne 🍃🌷🍃
      *Lifestyle Blog, your comment to Brittany made me smile. God bless you! 🍃🌻🍃Peace, Lynne

    I agree that a note is the best! Steer clear of Dollar Tree and cheap pencils. The lead is not always down the middle and causes lots of lost time at the sharpener with a pencil that will NEVER be usable.

    I am still close with many of my teachers from high school. With that being said, I'll always cherish my sixth grade teacher. My mom died when I was 11 and after having my intradistrict transfer revoked for poor attendance, I was placed in her classroom. It was a God send. I was dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts. I barely took care of myself and most of the time was late to school because I was too depressed to get out of bed. I would have breakdowns in the middle of the day (very "adult" problems for a young kid.) Still, she loved and believed in me, even calling my house and making me get up when I felt like I couldn't, giving me a safe space to cry and a shoulder to cry on. She saved my life that year, I will forever be grateful.

  • @maryinsanfrancisco
    @maryinsanfrancisco 5 лет назад +22

    Some teachers would prefer a gift card to Target or Starbucks, even in a small denominations. My mother is a teacher and diy decor gifts are nice but they're just not her jam. Having said that, this could definitely be another teacher's jam, so I guess the question is, what's the best way to figure out what the teacher would appreciate/could use the most?

    • @ruthlloyd1163
      @ruthlloyd1163 5 лет назад +8

      maryinsanfrancisco I agree, these are cute, but older teachers typically prefer a thoughtful note and maybe a $5 Starbucks gift card, as they are overloaded with cute mugs and the like.

    • @Supermonkurz
      @Supermonkurz 4 года назад

      maryinsanfrancisco You know what you could do? And I’m just spitballing here... you could just.. stay with me now... ASK!
      Ask. Ask them if they’re overrun with DIY gifts. Ask them if they prefer Starbucks or Dunkin.
      Also, it’s never a bad idea to get to know your child’s teacher.

    I received many awesome gifts for teacher appreciation. The one that sticks out the most was a little guy who was three. He glued his self to me on day one. I was the assistant director and I just walked by his classroom. I walked him in and sat on the floor until he felt comfortable. I did this everyday for 2 years. His mom gave me a gift certificate to the DQ across the street. I treated myself to lunch twice a month. Her kindness was much appreciated. I still see them around town and he is as tall as I am. His hugs were the best.

    Great ideas! We always handmade our gifts for my kids teachers. It was usually a goody of sorts, fireside coffee, Russian tea, always the favorite, my Peanutbutter fudge or White chocolate munchie mix. They all knew me very well beings I worked in the schools along side them. I also did something for everyone at my school. My custodians were treated very well because they were the ones that took care of me. Turned the heat on in the office so it was warm and toasty for my arrival and had coffee made and waiting for me. Some years I would cater a lunch of my famous Chinese Chicken Salad for the schoolwide staff. It's being appreciated and recognized, to know they matter 👏🤗
    God bless you and your family Kathryn ❤ XOXO

    I liked the wreath. I think it would make a nice gift for a friend or family member that is a new teacher. Personally we give small $ amount coffee shop gift cards at Christmas and at the end of the school year. It's been a huge hit. I should mention we give to the teachers, principal, secretary, custodians and bus drivers. We feel it's important to remember all the people who contribute not just the teachers.

    Thank you for putting out such wonderful videos. I enjoy them so much, especially your little ham man, he is fun. I have a love hate relationship with hot melt glue. In the end it never really sticks or holds things togegher for me. I see a lot of crafters rely on this and I just wonder if anyone else has this problem or am I simply using the wrong glue sticks? My one tip for use is this...make a dot of hot melt glue onto a piece of waxed or parchment paper and when it dries, use it to replace the back of a stud earring. I've been doing this for over twenty years and this is the one thing it has not failed me on.

I teach American History. So a frame and a US map from the school supply section at Dollar Tree as the background. Print out on cardstock the initial you want. I can also use the ruler boxes in both my classrooms. My son is in highschool so we send notes and gift cards. Thanks for the tips. I use “The Works” to get the rust build up off my shower stall. I spray after my shower (it stinks) and leave it for awhile and come back and rinse. I’ve found if I do this regularly then the rust or soap scum doesn’t build up in the tub or surround and I don’t have to scrub at all. And ... it’s a dollar! Thanks so much for all your videos and your channel. You are amazing!

    I usually give my children's teacher something the children made and chip in with a gift card with a good amount. These teachers most of the time give from the little they have. So a gift card and some thing a little extra does it for me. Great idea btw!

    Great ideas. Schools in the UK don’t break up until the end of July, still brill ideas tho.
    In the UK most teachers get a box of Celebrations (chocolates) or a plant etc.
