    Working Party: The MOS

  • @ericisafrog8

    I was told that they wore red patches bc grunts would try to claim they're landing support instead of going to combat.

      yea, that's why we needed to be distinguished.

      @usmc-veteran73-77 7 лет назад +9

      Andy_in_NH Im an old Marine (1973-1977) why are Grunts today obessed with POGs? It takes 3 to 4 POGs to support Grunts. And without Grunts you would not need POGs. Just wondering....by the way I was a Grunt, if I had to do over again I'd been a POG. Fresh sheets on your rack, dry feet and fresh starched Utilities everyday.

      @Andy_in_NH 7 лет назад +8

      I don't know Grunts today obsessed with POGs (your word). The only issue I've had with support personnel is when they didn't do their job or when they copped an attitude about who they had to support - the Grunts. Sometimes it is referred to as "Grunt envy". I was a Grunt for twenty years (0311, 0369, 0306). If I had to do it all over again I'd be a Grunt again. I didn't do it for the money. I did it for the experience of being around physically hard, mentally tough Marines who took pride in accomplishing their mission despite the challenges of terrain and weather.
