- Recently, one side of my Bluetooth earbuds was noticeably louder than the other. I investigated to reveal the diaphragm was clogged with ear wax. Here's how I made my Bluetooth earbuds louder and it may help you fix your earbuds as well!
If this video helped you, please consider a Super Thanks!

My right ear enjoyed this video, now both of my ears are enjoying it!
Love it! Good stuff!

Sameee
Why is it always the right ear tho
Haha. Good observation. Do you sleep with earbuds on? Maybe like how most people are right-handed, maybe most people sleep on their right side?
@@radimgabaj4263 for me the right one is louder
What i learned from hardware repair jobs, is that you can wipe alcohol on the mesh with a q-tip like you suggested, but instead of removing that diaphragm, you can use a *small* excess of alcohol on the q-tip and play a "liquid clearing" audio through it which you can find on youtube and i think thats a better solution
That sounds pretty good. Like the eject feature they have on lots of smart watches and some phones. Good thinking!
it's always the right side
Weird how that happens.
YESSSSS
@DanielGarcia-vr5gz strange phenomenon
Thank god, you're really helping me. I thought my earphone was broke, until I found your video. You're saving my life man :D
Thanks for this video! Two years after posting it you saved me from tossing my Skullcandy earbuds. I took the mesh out of the quiet side (left), cleaned it (with the help of alcohol, cotton swab, precision tweezers, magnifying glass and "a real bright light") put it back and presto! Both sides now perfect!
That’s doing it like a pro! I’m glad this video helped you. I just kick the can down the road by not replacing the mesh. Bad move I know.
Thanks for this... Used a combo of dust free air cleaner, contact cleaner and a lint-free towel along with this video. I was able to pull off the diaphragm intact, clean both earbud and diaphragm, and put it back together. 😊 All is right in my little world again.
Im not the type of person who comments on videos but damn that was really helpful and i hope your channel succeeds
That’s really nice of you. Thanks.
Watched four videos no help. Your video, and warning helped m solve and preserve my buds. Thank you and good luck with your channel!
I want to say thank you sir I'll subscribe to your channel you fixed my liberty Pro earbuds which you can't even remove the screen but I did an alcohol swab and cleaned it and now it sounds brand new thank you so much. I really appreciate all your help man well done
Awesome comment and thanks for the sub!
Thanks alot saved me a big hassle sending these earbuds back. It worked like a charm. 👍🏻 gained another sub 🍻
I just got a pair of sephia earbuds brand new an the volume lowers In on ear randomly .it doesent have earwax ot a hole I can put anything threw. What do i do? They cost 20 bucks an I'm pissed there doing this. 😅
Ear wax, why didn't I think of that. Thanks dude, it worked.
Great video but is there anything you can do after you remove the thing inside and the speaker gets covered itself?
Can you clean the diaframs cause i have an expensive set of earphones and i want them to last a long time but my diaframs are clogged.
Thank you man i couldn't have done it without you
Got a pair of wf-xb700 did a small dunk of alcohol for my left earbud, which was working fine btw the same day I had my first issue. Put them on again and significantly random lower volume for left. Anyways did the Q tip deep clean as well, nothing in the settings was changed for the earbuds as well what else should I do?
I’m still thinking you have blockage. Can you shine a light on there and see? Maybe use a magnifying glass?
Thanks Ryan, gonna sub just because of how helpful this was ❤
Thank you very much, I thought my new earbuds were done for but this video saved me from having to buy new ones!
I've purchased Jabra Elites, JVC's, and Raycons all within a year and every single pair has had the volume significantly fade always on the right side. Either I'm extremely unlucky, or my right ear is a lot waxier than my left...
You saved my life, I thought it was a eletronic problem, thanks a lot!
BROOOOOOO U HELPED ME SO MUCH. I have a pair of primus earbuds and this worked like a charm man thanks
I have these wierd nails and I just scrape the wax of is that very good?
THIS WORKS my right earbud haven't been working properly like really low volume
so I cleaned the exterior w a q-tip and then I slowly pushed the diaphragm to take it off and I cleaned the inside and I put it on again after cleaning and now it works perfectly TYSM❤
Worked like a charm! Even managed to put the diaphragm back on after removing it gently with a thin sharp needle. Thanks for the tip!!
So many success stories in the comments. You all make me happy with all the nice comment. Thanks!
You deserve that for making us all happy with the nice video! ;)
@AlxM96 Too cool! Thanks a lot. Stop by anytime!
So I just took out some earwax out of my right JVC Gumy Plus earbud and that did it for me. I had these babies for a little over a year and I didn't really feel like getting some new ones. Thanks for the help.
Great video. I thought i got scammed because i bought some cheaper earbuds. After this fix sound quality was perfect on each side.
That’s excellent news!

thank God!! you helped me , I thought my earbud has some hardware problem, It really worked, thanks for this valuable information
This guy has got wisdom! Great video very skilled for the guy that doesnt know
man.... it was perfect for me! i thought it could be some hardware problem.... even that I'd lose it. thank you so much
Thanks man, I have a pair of lenovo Thinkplus xt80 and my left earbud was having this issue. I cleaned like you said and boom. It worked. I made half of dozen of candles from all the earwax I removed hahaha.
That’s great news! And thanks for sharing the make and model.
You are amazing! Thank you so much! Subbed
Idk if this is a placebo or something, but I feel like it really worked for me, thank buddy, +1 sub ,to complete the team.
My left diaphragm is missing will that affect audio pls anyone because my left powerbeats pro is very low
Thanks helped alot.. I discovered removing it with toothpick in a hot water (not alcohol) would clean and enable u to re stick it again as alcohol may remove the adhesive completely
Oh yeah. Well my tips kinda pop on.
BRO YOU SAVED MY LIFE THANK YOU SO MUCH 💗💗💗💗
does use earphones without meshes makes it broken easier or last shorter?
Potentially. And I covered that exact question in the video. Maybe you need to watch it again. They’ll definitely be more susceptible to damage from moisture
Thank you I can finally hear out these things again
took everything off! there was a metal mesh and then some foam. Both sides work perfectly now. Should i use something else to cover the entrance a little? Feeling that it's not gonna last very long
Well you found the problem. And yeah, now your earbud on that side and the electronics are much more at risk to sweat, water and ear wax. This may be a temporary solution.
love you man your the best person ever
I was about to buy new ones until I saw your vid
Thank you so much Ryan! For some reason my right earbud was very quiet, i looked for a tutorial and found you! And my right earbud started to be as loud as my left earbud! And again, thank you so much!
Really same here mine right one was also quiet and I thought it was broken
Omg thank you, you are a life saver my guy thanks again
Awesome! Glad you got your earbuds back to full function.
What a blessing this video was. I had to totally remove the screen from the left bud. Let's keep our ears clean!!!
Haha. Making sure our earbuds stay working is good motivation.
damn this really helped me. keep up the good work!!
Yup! Cleaning it, immediately fixed it
Thank you
Thanks so much this was so helpful I sub
Finaly. After 2 weeks of hearing music louder on one side than the other. I can rest.
You sir are...a LEGEND!!!!
Thanks boss. Removed the diaphragm and levels are even now. Pre happy cause these phones got good quality
Awesome!

wow.... never thought that cleaning the diaphragm would solve the problem) I almost bought a new one) thank you for the video.
Thank you. So simple but it works.
Congrats!!
OMG ! I didn't even think this could work!! srsly ! I just pushed it with my nails and wollaaaa, It's working again :D thank you for the video
I really doubted this I was sure the speaker was shot thanks man
Thanks very mush man i thought its something need to fix you helped me alot
Awesome. I’m glad this video helped you continue to enjoy your earbuds.
Haven’t been using the right earbuds since I got them it doesn’t work at all can’t send it back cause I have had it for months now.
I have that problem but for some reasons the quality of my right earbud also is worse than the left one, and after checking i didn't have the small mesh cover on the right one, maybe i lost it while cleaning, is there anything i can do ?
Maybe it went into your ear and that’s why things sound lower on your right.
Maybe visit an ENT to get your ears scoped and cleaned.
@@SillyReviews thought it's weird because i hear well like usual and headsets are fine as well
Maybe your earbuds are just damaged :(
@@SillyReviews yeah unfortunately that's what i think too, guess i'll buy new ones then, thanks !
Thanks dude
I thought my earphones is broken then i just cleaned just like you did
And now both of my earphone enjoying this video
Thank you it worked. I had that soldering iron ready but thanks to you it didnt get to that. Hahaha. You are much appreciated sir.
I removed the tips sucked on the side with lower volume ,i heard something popped and then its all level now on both sides
This helped alot sir... thanks 🤙🏾
Yo holy doopy poopy, THank you so much, I was really hoping I wouldn't have to buy another pair of earbuds
(This is 100% BlameAM certified)
Most respectable certification this channel has ever received!
What kind of earbuds did this video help you fix?
I tried this and I felt like it was doing nothing, but somehow it worked cant thank you enough
Thanks awesome presentation. It helped me🙏
I literally bought a new pair like a week ago before finding this video. I decided what the hell and tried it with "the broken ones" and... FML, it worked. Thanks, though! I prefer the old ones, but now I'm mourning a bit about the unnecessary purchase
It worked!!
Thank you so much for the video it saved my life, is there any problem on the long run if I couldn't return it back and remove it completely?
I remove my filters completely. It’s a gamble but it’s better than just stopping using them and having to buy new ones. Without that filter, it’s easier for the components to get wet.
Thank you so much dude🙏
You saved my 100 dollars😉😎
Lovely, thank you kindly.
Awesome! I’m glad this video helped you with your earbuds.
Thank You Bro!!!!! You Helped Al Lot!!!!!
If you're like me and you already removed the diaphragm, soak a pointed (pinched-up) cotton swab in hydrogen peroxide (3% is what I used) and it will disintegrate any earwax. It's much safer than alcohol on both the electronics and your ears! Plus it's good for your ears!
The sizzle of peroxide eating earwax is something else.
@@SillyReviews finally, someone who gets it
@deusexmaximum8930 haha. That’s awesome.
What kind of earbuds are you keeping alive using the steps in this video, then your maintenance cleaning?
i don’t have any alcohol at home, but plenty of hydrogen peroxide. worked great thanks! i was afraid i had to throw away my $160 earphones 🥲
@deemah3602 great success!! What kind of earbuds?
IT LITERALLY FIXED ITSELF WHILE I WAS WATCHING THIS LOOOOOOOOL
It worked just fine, thank you ❤
I can't believe this actually worked. Unfortunately I had to remove the mesh from both the earphones for it sound right. Anyways, thank you for not making me think I ruined my new headphones.
I’m glad to read that this video helped you with your malfunctioning earbuds. Yeah, I’ve done this on many pairs of wireless earbuds now. I wear earbuds all day and night. Interestingly, even though I do wear them to do activities when I sweat and stuff, removing the mesh has so far not led to a single pair of earbuds failing.
I can’t believe how effective this was the video was on full volume and it was quiet after I did this it was really loud
Awesome!

Thank you so much 😊 🎉❤
Thank you very much boss!
Tried this on my left Raycon earbud. Used razor blade to pick the "screen" off. Wiped it with my finger but couldn't see it well enough to know if did anything. Placed it back in position and Voila! Worked like a champ!
I love a happy ending! Glad this video helped you with your Raycon earbuds! Thanks for sharing the feedback.
Thanks mam it really help me out i am just getting worried that it's sucks but after this video...
I just wan a say thanks you really
Congrats. Hopefully your earbuds will last for a long time now. I’d recommend cleaning them out monthly as best you can. At the point, if they’re Bluetooth, your issue will be the aging battery.
Worked perfectly!!!! Thanks Man!!!!!
Another satisfied viewer. What’s the make and model of the earbuds this video helped you with?

Awesome. What model earbuds did this help fix?
Holy shizzzz.
It actually works!!!!
Thanks
This worked! Thanks so much!!!
thanks bro now my earphones are as new as they were😄
Just cleaned the diaphragm with a dry swab. Works like new! And protected too!
That’s excellent news. What kind of buds?
Here's what i did to fix my Samsung IA-500 earphones:
When i removed the sillicone, there wasn't just one diaphragm/filter, there were 2, both of them have this white and black diaphgram glued together (it looks like one at first, but when you take it out, you can seperate them), so after i took the diaphgram out, i seperated them and put only the white/silver looking one in both, it balanced the volume just as new.
Keep in mind, The model of my earphones are Samsung IA-500, there's obviously a diaphgram in every earbud/earphone, but i don't know if there's two glued together, if there is, then just do what i did.
For all of you that can't or don't want to take the diagram out, I grabbed a needle and poked every single hole. I know, it sounds like it's gonna take you 3 hours, but believe me, it doesn't, I did it in 5 minutes and now my left earbud which I thought had an issue with the speaker inside of it, is working better than the other one because I've just done the deepest cleaning you can do without taking the diagram off. Try it, it's a lot less risky than the diagram method and it gives you the same results. It isn't this guy's fault for not having known this but perhaps, you can make another video with my method :)
I just thrown my other earbuds and it works, Highly recommended.
That’s fantastic!
thank you so much for the help dude
You’re welcome. Glad this video helped!
Thank you so much!!!!!
IT WORKED!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH

thank you sir, you just save my earbud. one side got lower volume than the other side.. now both work perfectly

@@SillyReviews oh im not 100% sure which model.. but its from sony.. after quick search it look similar to mh750 but i could be wrong.. xD
Cool. Thanks for sharing and congrats!
This is a great video and just one problem that can be caused by low volume...however there is one other fix that ear bud users problem does not know exist is the accessibility settings under hearing in there smart phones. You can adjust the sound balance slider for right, left and middle. You can also change the channel settings from Mono to stereo if it is at default. This is for Android users. I am sure Iphone users have a similar setting.
Yeah it’s possible someone can accidentally move that slider but if everything you’re listening to is low on one side, if you move your balance setting towards that side you’re going to be able to even out the volume but the max will now be lower and you will still need to address what’s making that side lower.....which could be built up ear wax.
I’ll also mention that I clean my ears almost daily and don’t think I have some kind of abnormal wax production. I think this is just a super common happening for earbud users. Super annoying, too.

I cleaned it but now it's muffled?
Thanks bro you saved me so much money
Of all the things to work. Popped mine out with a pair of tweezers, instant fix to the problem. Weirdest part is they don't look dirty, and popping them back on, if a little worse for wear, didn't reduce the sound level again. Maybe they're still clogged and the sound is just going past them IDK, but they work now. And I figure I can clean the interior of them just fine if that ever becomes a problem.
Thank you very much.
Awesome! Much better than having to buy replacements.
What kind of earbuds were giving you trouble before you found this video?

Sweet! Glad everything worked out!
Wow never thought of earwax could be the problem.. I checked in other devices and still sound was low on one side, I thought my earphone has given up on me, and now I have to buy one and was looking for new earphones online but didn't actually bought and thought, would there be a way to fix this on RUclips and saw your video.. did the same with alcohol but with piece a cotton cloth and it worked 😁👍
it has helped me i wanted to open the buds and have cleaned them they are right now
Thank you
