I got a generic one for Full size fords 62-74 on eBay. Comes with a new master cylinder and several size rods/levers. There’s a video w a guy installing same type of thing on a ‘55 Plymouth wagon that is super helpful.
My '68 Galaxie 500 has disc brakes in front. My booster looks a *lot* thinner than yours. Is this procedure the same on mine? And how do you test your booster to know it's bad? Mine *does* hold vacuum. But the damn brakes are *so stiff!!* It takes every last bit of strength to get the pedal to travel about 6 inches, then it's like the bottom drops out and - *boom* all four wheels lock up. I assume that's the damn booster -- but how do I know for sure? I've replaced *everything* in the brake system in this stupid car. Calipers, rubber lines, pads in front, shoes/springs/adjusters in back. AND the brake booster and master-cylinder. But they're still so stiff! So how do I know for sure I was sold a bad booster? Edit: Never mind. you're not installing the master -- so there's no way to know how to get it all adjusted correctly to work together. Do you have a video that shows that part?
LMacNeill how I usually check mine I pull the vacuum off and if they're still hard and there's no change in the booster when you put the vacuum back on then it's not working
Hello, sorry my question , but I don't know, I have a mercury monterey 1962, I bought 2 weeks ago, today I saw the booster has a lot oil inside , this is normal?
bigg,g ford guy , thank you , I don't know what they did with the brakes looks, new booster and master cylinder , I bought 2 weeks ago, , the check valve is broken, that's why I saw inside the booster and is half of the booster fill whit oil
