Nice details, have wondered about getting this kit as its a bit different. Fancy using a deep wading kit. Probably will end up gettin Tamiya again.cheers for sharing
Stunning build Shane. I've missed your videos brother. If you'd make it a place like night shift I'd support you. I've been building Sherman's my Entire life. Well I've had two loves in plastic in the 70s Sherman tanks and the tiger tanks. Right now I just finished an M24 chaffee italeri/Tamiya and I'm up dating Tamiya's M18 hellcat. 😁 I have a problem a good one but a problem nevertheless. 🤣🤣
Thanks mate! You can never have too many Shermans and its a problem I have no issue in indulging lol I really need to get a M24 for the collection as I don't have any light US tanks for the my armored collection. Though I do have the M18 too, and man what a kit it is! Looking forward to seeing what you do with yours mate!
haha thanks mate! And don't worry I have loads more Sherman content on the way! Also I have a Sherman playlist with I think 13 videos in my channel so check that out for more!
A nice one again, Shane ! This particular hedgerow cutter isn't a Culin cutter, but rather a Douglas one (the one shown in the picture during the video is indeed a Culin). The Douglas system was used by 3rd Armored Division only, just prior to Operation Cobra. There were only round 60 Sherman (M4 and M4A1) fitted with this type of hedgerow cutters, the field modification being made in Saint Jean de Daye. So be sure your M4A1 is going to depict a 3rd Armored Div. one unless you take full artistic and historical licence ! :-) Link to Saint Jean de Daye workshop video : ruclips.net/video/PRSX7CCrBeQ/видео.html 3rd Armored, 32nd Regiment, B Co. tanks here modified. You'll notice the use of a German captured Steyr 2000A cargo truck by the US troops, which is also a nice find (at 1'51"). Enjoy !
Thanks very much mate for the great insight and information. I was originally intending to paint mine up as a 2nd Armored M4 but now have an excuse to try something new :)
Hello, sorry for the super late reply. Hope this does not arrive too late, or at least might give you some ideas for further Sherman projects. The Asuka kits are pretty good out of the box. The only things I would recommend replacing as a matter of course. Is the barrel with a metal replacement, other added details I would recommend would be adding cast textures with liquid putty such as Mr.Surfacer. Super sorry for the late reply Shane.
@@longlance67Thanks Shane. I’ve made good progress on my Sherman following many of your suggestions- metal barrel, TMD upgrade set, extra stowage, some subtle cast texture. I got lazy with the tie downs for the tools so I ordered some 3D printed ones instead of making my own. I always enjoy your content - hope you’ll keep those videos coming!
amazing work, very nicely done those tiny details are very self rewarding when you just see them you think of the story behind them, very good and solid work
Thanks mate! I always like to try imagine why certain details are the way they are in my way, as your right it really helps build a character and personality to your work
Hi Shane, that is some outstanding additions you have added to the Sherman, just like most is not all armour no two vehicles look the same, thanks for sharing this video, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia.
thanks mate, I really like the fact that Sherman's really lend themselves to allowing you add your own character to them with stowage ect while to being faithful to the real machines
Thank you, really glad you liked it! As for A1's with early features, I did a quick search through my references and could not find any US M4A1's with the early transmissions and rotor shields but that is not to say that none were deployed. I will dig out my Zaloga reference books and see if I can find any photo evidence there for you

thanks mate, I've always wanted to a Omaha beach M4 with full deep wading kit at some point, so I totally feel ya about adding wading kits.

@@longlance67 You're welcome.
I did an unboxing video of one interesting tank on my channel. You can watch it if you are interested as well.
Very helpful video - I’m building this kit right now. Your suggestions & upgrades were very helpful - many thanks!

Fantastic work. Looks splendid. Do you know if the earlier model M4A1s with M34 (narrow) gun shield and bolted transmission saw action in Normandy?
