I'm really enjoying your content. I've been wanting to get into copywriting for awhile. I've gone through lots of content on RUclips, but yours is some of the best. Thanks for real talk.
Thank you so much! :) If there are ever any Q's I can answer, just let me know!
@@jpearce30 I'd feel selfish if I had questions -- you've put out so much free content! I'll go through all your content first, and if I have questions after that, I won't hesitate. :)
Sounds great! (and also appreciated haha!) My website/blog has a ton more in-depth content, too, if needed!
Great Video. I love the transparency.
Aside from writing-skills, a career in freelance writing requires business skills like negotiation and management. It's important that people understand this before setting their mind on this path.
YES. Those skills are mandatory!
omg jackie your way of talking is really adorable!! i enjoyed this thank you :)
“I am just selling words.” I think that needs to be my new blurb on my home page. 😆
I support this 😂
Preordering the book next week.
Perfect timing
And great video 👍
Thank you so much!
That's so awesome you get to interview her! I know you've mentioned how awesome you think she is before. Congrats!
I KNOW I'm so damn excited!
The part with a dedicated site with non-paying clients had me cracked up
Hey, loved the video!
I have 2 questions, hopefully you can answer:
How do you write copy for a physical product that's not a problem solver, for example a Kitchen Knife ? As in, there are no pain points to trigger or a UVP..?
Second question is, lets say I want to earn 1K per month as a beginner freelance copywriting who's self taught with no experience but well learned in this - what is a genuine and fast as possible way to achieve that ?
Thanks in advance !
Get you a DX racer chair. They may be for gaming but they are super comfortable.
I'm definitely going to look into it! I had a gaming chair at one point and it was amazing
Pre-ordered your E-book Jackie, (A Full Pipeline) I can't wait to get it!
Thank you, Linda!
How was it Linda? Can you please give us your review? Thank you very much.
Excellent video. Thanks for the info.
For sure! :)
thanks jackie. very helpful!
Absolutely!
How do you retain copyright until the client pays, in a way that their website host will actually take down their content if they don't pay and you contact them? How do you prove that you wrote the content first?
It's in my contract and I also mention it upfront in an email. You'll have to end up filing a DMCA takedown notice, which can be mildly complicated, but worth it if someone's taking your work. 99% of the time, even an email threat of it to them can help you get paid (in my experience).
Thanks a lot Jackie, Good to know!!!
Thank you so much for making these videos!
You're welcome!
Hey Jackie i'm getting into copywriting and was wondering how you find new clients?
Thanks Jackie! I foudn this video very helpful :)
Happy to help!
thank you for this
Question, when you say you get 50% down is that 50% of the whole project or the first milestone?
Also please talk more about copywrite transfers. Does the work have to be registered somewhere for it to become officially copywrited? Where is the best place to get a copywrite transfer form?
It depends to what we agree upon! If we broke it down by milestones, I do 50% of that milestone.
For the copyright, you don't need to file anything. If you wrote it, it's yours. If it ended up going to court you could prove it through emails, timestamps on documents created, etc. When they do their final payment, your contract states they now own it.
@@jpearce30 Thank you so much.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for posting this. Just wondering most of my clients do direct deposit into my account. Is there a reason for not being paid this way? (Potential of fraud ? Or something else?)
If you trust them, it's usually just fine!
Thanks Jackie ❤
thank you!
For sure! :)
Hi, I know this is an older video, but do you have an example of the questionnaire that you send to potential clients? It is very annoying to have that conversation manually with each client
I do but I generally tweak it for each client. Mainly I just need to know what the overall tone of their site is, the goal for their pages, and what makes them different. It's not always easy to get them to fill it out so I often have to do it over the phone
@@jpearce30 Thanks Jackie!
Does Stripe freeze accounts like paypal?
I’ve heard sometimes but nowhere near as often
if you are going to send your work, where are you going to put the output?
I mean word document or other apps? 😄 Thanks have a great day.
Google docs, usually!
What’s usually your first project idea and can you give examples?
landing pages, home pages, emails
