Here are some examples of the 80/20 rule in action:
20% of the worlds population controls 80% of the wealth
20% of patients use 80% of healthcare resources
20% of all Google's reported bugs cause 80% of the errors and crashes
This is the normal application of the 80/20 principle to business to maximize sales or decrease inefficiencies, but why can't we apply it to our everyday lives? Why can't we use the 80/20 rule daily to improve our lives dramatically?

Who am I:
My name is Zach. I’m a Resident Physician in Boston. I make videos about medical school, studying, and growth. I love trying new things and often mess up. However, every time I screw up, I usually learn something. Whatever I learn, I post it either on RUclips or on my website 🌐 (zhighley.com/).
I write a weekly newsletter 💌 (zhighley.com/newsletter/) linking the best things I read, watched, and listened to that week. Join the 4,000+ that read it every other Sunday morning.

Where have you gained the most from using 80/20 rule? For me, it’s Joy.

The Pareto Principle helps prioritize tasks, emphasizing the extreme importance of focus. Rather than completing one task at 100%, it suggests working on five tasks at 80%, yielding a total of 400% output, creating a significant leverage effect. For advanced users of the Pareto Principle, what most people don't realize is that it's not about a single point on a graph but a curve known as the Pareto distribution. This means that when a Pareto distribution is present, the 80/20 rule can be applied multiple times in succession.
Such a great video! Left me with lots to think about and some reflecting to do. Thanks Zach and Happy New Year!

Hey Zach.. Glad that you are still uploading helpful contents despite your busy schedules of residency.. You have changed my life with some of your videos.. Specially the " Why you procrastinate" video.. Could you make a video on Adhd???
Yes! You need to reinforce positive habits and eliminate negative ones. If you can replace bad ones with good ones, then you're on a whole other level. Good luck!

How do I apply the 80/20 rule if I am a Medicine student?
What 20% of studying causes 80% of your information retention/understanding/test performance?

Yeah me too
Well done
I wanna use 80/20 but I realised 80% in highschool won't be enough to get me into medical school 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Kinda just sounds like prioritizing resource allocation
20 80 sounds like minimalism
