If you have never had a buck charge you during rut then you will never truly understand the necessity of that walk. Take treats and leave them in the same spot every day and then when rut is over let him come back in the fence. I had a buck on a ranch I worked at remember me after almost 5 months of being gone and came running to me when he heard my voice. They are amazing creatures. I can't wait to see those babies grow up and will definitely keep Lucy in my prayers. She is a sweet ole gal!
I took him a bowl of vegetable this evening and he came running when I called, Amanda! Hopefully he will stay relatively close to that gate area! Thanks. God Bless! jimmy

Milburn is leaving because he has shed his velvet and for the first time he has a set of hard antlers. He's not a baby anymore and with breeding season coming he will be full of testosterone. That will make him very dangerous to the Houston family and Lucy and her family. It was always going to happen. It's not just because Lucy is sick
