It’s an easy mistake to make since they’ve all been released quietly and spaced out over the last 7 years. At least this incredible run is finally easily accessible from start to finish, O’Neil’s underrated run is still stuck in limbo with only Love’s Labor Lost and a Marvel Masterworks coming out this month with his first 10 issues. With how long it took to get all of Nocenti, I’m guessing O’Neil will be available as a whole in at least 4 years lol
What's crazy is the new writers need to learn from Nocent Because she didn't even like comics nor cared for it but she was able to create such care with Daredevil unlike most writers today who can't stand the characters and want to put their own political agenda in it. It's pretty amazing for someone who didn't know anything about comics or anything she did a perfect job with Daredevil
I couldnt resist and read the trickster chapter. The trickster referes to himself as a world wide famous stunt man, but no one knows his real name and if his fame didnt make him happy, he wants to know daredevil motivation. Daredevil also recognised him as a famous sort of magicia. They say he uses tricks, but as you saw there are things that doesnt make sense, wich open the posibility of something mystical going on. Also he says he is going to climb the building to make a ritual to make it snow, someone on the audience says there is a machine up there that can make it snow. So was it magic?. There wa a narration of an internal voice for the trickster saying to let go and at the end he was not awere how was he tied up. So its open to be a mysterio type magician that is crazy and kill himself because of voices on his head and we dont know how he made his tricks or could be a paranormal possesion type of thing on why this magician became famous on the first place. This comic was great, very intriguing, I assume that there is a subtext that is going over my head but due to the execution and how open it is makes it very memorable and kind of scary.
Oh damn you're gonna do the Man-Thing ultimate Spider-Man team up issue? Nice, kinda funny cuz I was watching some other videos going over the ultimate clone saga but didn't have a good video going over the team up that introduced ultimate lizard and found a pretty great video dubbing over it. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it! As for daredevil I definitely think this run was my personal favorite, and I really love to hear Nocenti's thoughts on comics and heroes in general. I agree with a lot of what she says and I think the best way these characters should be done is by someone who's not afraid to really experiment but also has a strong passion for them by expressing that in the stories they tailor around them. She did a phenomenal job in that regard, even if the competition could be considered steep for many.
So was Boffo the Trixter? I always thought he was? I really liked Nocenti's run because it jumps around, with various plot points interweaving between certain one off storylines later on. I think irs memorable for me because of just how unique many of the plots were. I love the Black Panther issue where Daredevil and him are hunting a Wakandan Migrant
There’s a book store in my town that sells a lot of old comics, and I managed to find about 20 issues of Noceti’s run. So that’s pretty damn cool having physicals in good condition of this stellar run
Thankfully they collected the entire run in vol 12-15 of the epic collections. I believe the one with DD in upstate NY is out of print tho so the run isn’t super accessible in its entirety
Not yet. I'm very behind on contemporary comics. I haven't even finished Ultimate Invasion or whatever the event was with The Maker that Hickman was doing!
All of Nocent’s run actually has already been collected in its entirety in Daredevil Epic Collection Volumes 12, 13, 14, and 15
I know I hearted this, but, how DARE you prove me WRONG!?

There should be an omnibus but the epic collection are pretty cool.
"So Marvel. I know you're listening..."
Strong flex, Smokey.
It’s crazy to see daredevil fight saber tooth but hey it’s comics especially marvel comics so cool haha , amazing video !!!!
RIP Mark Gruenwald. You left too soon.
No way this went under my radar (sense)
27:50 I can hear the Tony Hawk Pro Skater soundtrack watching this
I was contemplating putting that in, but I didn't want THE HAWK coming after me!

THANK YOU SMOKEY! I LOVE DAREDEVIL!!!
So does Matt pretend to not be blind while working as a fry cook? LOL
Yeah at this time he just stopped using the glasses and walking cane and just acted like a guy who has working eyeballs
Man i love the diffrent styles of each artist but they all manage to work well within the story. Great choice for video smokey.

It's possible? But I never read Boffo as Trixter. It could work since Boffo never shows up after #241!
@@SmokeysVideosYou Make Some Very Good Voices For The Characters In Marvel & DC!😇👌

I love these videos
I still think h2h combat DD beats Batman 🤷🏿♀️
Have you checked out the new ultimate spider man

Good morning Sir, like if you agree Daredevil should have a cartoon?! I do. 🎉
She seems like her disdain for storytelling is tedious
Her dialogue is heavyhanded but she's a better storyteller than 95% of people working in comics.
Love it man keep it up!
