Originally this video was meant to be for the new travel channel, however given how much photography there is here, it made more sense to go here. I guess it's more difficult to separate travel and photography than I thought ha.
Also I said the word fantastic way too much in this video.. not sure where that's come from. Must have been the drugs.
I’m from Slovenia and i really think you did it justice. Beautiful photography and as always big thumbs up 👍🏽
Thank you!! Can’t wait to come back
Thanks for this nice video!
I went to slovenia (Ljubljana) in september as well for an business trip. (But it looks like i was there before you beacause I had nice weather the whole week :D) I took some days off since it was my first time there. Really enjoyed it - beautiful country and lovely people.
Most of the time was in the northern-east region. Luckily, I was there by car. So I was able to visit a lot of nice places in the mountains.
Lake Bled was awesome of course.
Some more things i can recommend:
- waterfalls (like Slap Peričnik, Slap Boka or Slap Kozjak)
- river Soca with its nature and adventures
- Blejski vintgar
- Kransja gora and Jezero Jasna
- Velika planina
- Just for photography: The Church of St. Primož/Felicijan and Cerkev Sv. Tomaž
Deffo adding these for next time. Cheers!
Man that photo of the boat in the water framed through the leaves... magnificent 👌🏽
Superb video, Roman! I'm loving this mix of travelogue and photography. I hope you do more like this, whether on this channel or your new channel.
Thank you!
Everytime I watch one of your travel videos I add another country to my bucket list.
You did my city/country justice! The entire country is extremely picturesque. For instance, I really like the contrast between Tuscany-like Goriška Brda, and the mystic plains of Prekmurje. And this is only scratching the surface.
Here's a video of mine (shot with the X-T4 and 16-55). ruclips.net/video/lUN8fn4ir1Q/видео.html
Coming from a local that’s even kinder. Thank you!
i live in Hungary, considering going to Ljubjana for shooting trip after that video, thanks
@@snapsbyfox If you're close, as a landscape photographer, you should go move from ''Ljubljana'' down to one of the furthest points of Croatias coast line, the town of ''Dubrovnik!'' It's a famous route/tour for bikers and hides endless ''hidden gem'' landscape shot opportunities throughout the entire route down!
In case you or someone here plans on going, here's the roughly estimated route; Starting from ''Ljubljana, Slovenia'' and going through ''Snežnik, Slovenia,'' then following through to ''Risnjak, Croatia,'' from where you start moving east towards ''Veljun,'' after which you start moving down south towards ''Plitvička Jezera,'' then start moving west towards the town of ''Gospić'' and the ''Velebit Mountain,'' which then, after reaching ''Velebit Mountain,'' you start moving through the mountain roads down south towards ''Nacionalni Park Paklenica'' and then follow through the old mountain roads towards ''Kudin Most na Krupi,'' where you start moving east towards ''Dinara Mountain,'' then south to the ''Cetina River Spring,'' after which you move further south, down to the town of ''Sinj'' from the eastern side of lake ''Peruća'' alongside of mount ''Dinara,'' then when you reach the town of ''Sinj'' you start moving towards ''Omiš.'' Once you get to ''Omiš,'' you follow the main coast line road down to the town of ''Makarska'' from where you keep following the coastline road all the way down to the village of ''Komarna'' where you follow down any of the roads, towards the town of ''Dubrovnik.''
wow!!! thanks
I'm going to Ljubljana a couple of times next year, and this video is a very nice guide! I would also love to see a video on the travel side of things, like what are nice places to eat, culture and stuff!
Fantastic video, so thought out and informative, everything considered!!
My favorite country to visit. Although the places you visited are quite touristic, next time you visit, keep in mind and try doing a hike from Most na Soci to Tolmin and then to Kobarid. After that, feel free to spend couple of days in Kobarid. You'll love it. Cool photos as usual ;)
Very cool, I love the video and all the photos! Maybe next time you could go Kranjska gora, there are some beautiful hikes with breathtaking views. Slovenia is really such a beautiful country.
yeah for sure i will be back…. i was there for 3 weeks and its just not enough
I stayed in all of these locations for a few days and took some of my favorite photos. There are even more great places in this wonderful country.
yeah its so good. cheers
You even said Ljubljana right! Nice job, Roman!
My home country!! Such a beautiful place, I really recommend exploring the rest of the country as well as it is extremely beautiful. Great video!
Loved this Roman. Definitely fills a niche in the photography / travel market. Well done. I feel bad that you had to sack your Mum though.
I recommend visiting Kranska Gora .. maybe for 2/3 days .. fantastic scenery locally ..
Great video of my hometown and its surroundings! If I knew you were visiting I'd give you a tour of the lesser-known spots and buy you a coffee (for less than 4€). I need to add to the weather situation that there is not all sunshine and rain with nothing in between. There are long periods of fog in the autumn, mornings and evenings, sometimes even a whole day, because Ljubljana is located in a basin area.
Nice video dude! I've been to Ljubljana actually and it was one of the coolest places I've been. I definitely need to get back.
No chance to go there in the short term, but I really enjoyed the video. Looks like a really beautiful place and a place I’d definitely consider in the future.
Great style of videos going Roman, can’t wait to see your next adventure in similar fashion. Amazing quality advice and photography
Absolutely brilliant video Roman.
Thank you!!
Wow, Lake Bled is stunning. Great shots, Roman.
Thanks! Yeah in real life way better than the photos
Hello! I really loved the photography you did in our country, I really liked all the posts you made on instagram while you were here in Slovenia. I think I said in one of your previous videos that next time if you visit you could also go check out the other regions of Slovenia that are a bit more north and east as there is a lot of beautiful culture and cuisines there to try as well as good locations to take photos of course :) The only thing I wished you did in this video was not to mention just Ljubljana because you also showed clips from lake Bled and if I remember correctly you also visited Lake Bohinj and Piran and those locations are not Ljubljana they are somewhere completely else in Slovenia (it’s kinda like if you would say I went to London and you showed clips from Leicester or Manchester). What I’m trying to say is those places are all beautiful and deserve to be acknowledged separately, because someone might think Ljubljana has this lake with an island in the middle of it but no Ljubljana is just a regular capital city which in it self is also beautiful and you captured that beauty very amazingly :) Maybe instead of saying what Ljubljana has to offer you could of just said what Slovenia has to offer.
Awesome photos and glad you enjoyed yourself.
One thing I love about taking photos in the wider Ljubljana center is the fact that it's closed to car traffic apart from essential services.
If I had a penny for every time I cursed under my breath while taking photos in London streets because it's almost impossible to get a scene without cars littering the streets left, right and center I'd have a few pounds at least by now.
I know there are other cities in Europe at least with s similar arrangement and it would be really great if London followed suit with some of the more prominent areas.
Haha agreed! Thanks!
Bellissimo posto💚
Grazie mille!
Love the video! Was wondering where you got that rope peak design strap from and your thoughts on it?
ah it was a custom made one and the business has gone bust now it seems… having looked at it closer, its just a rope, a couple attachment points and a leather bit connecting it together..
Next time you're out rowing, try slowing down quite a bit compared to this. Look at the water and feel the feedback in the oars and try to find the sweet spot where you spend as much as possible on moving the boat forward and as little on stirring up the water. You'll be both more energy efficient and have a more pleasant experience. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.
Amazing! Nice video
This is phenomenal Roman wow are you going to do a book from this trip? Great job
Cheers man!
Hmm not here... instead I will include photos from this trip in my 2022 book that's gonna be out in January
Beautiful shots! Gives me another place I want to visit!
For sure you have to! Thanks!
Love it. Fan forever
Fantastic Video Roman, great photos with loads of information for anyone wishing to visit this beautiful country, which i defo will be.
Ah perfect, having lunch while watching this.
The prices are a bit off. I’m from Slovenia and never paid a coffee more than 2 eur.
I guess you stumbled on some of the most expensive spots in the country.
Great job with the photos.
Roman you are awesome.
The Hybrid Shooter has a new review today: "Fujifilm X-H2 Review - 40 MP, 8K, Great Value [Fuji XH2]"
I really think you should make an exception and watch this!
Hey Roman, if you ever visit Oslo, hit me up. I know cool places you will not find on ''top 10 things to see/do'' list.
do you ever feel that, regardless of location, you're just taking the same pictures over and over again - albeit with changes in "local colour" ?
Yes and no… There are a certain type of ‘household’ shots i go for regardless of where I am. That’s because I like that style and all i am doing is repeating my style in different environments and as you say introducing the local colour… to me that’s the best bit. However i do always try to broaden my horizons. for the next few years is more on travel photography and not street, so that will creep in now and again too.
Did you meet The Hybrid Shooter there?
not sure who that is im afraid
@@snapsbyfox What! The Hybrid Shooter lives in Ljublana and in my view he has the best camera reviews of Fujifilm and Sony cameras and their lenses. I'm not sure of his real name, but if you're still there I highly recommend meeting him.
Ah I don’t watch camera review channels hence why. Nah not there any more I’m afraid. Deffo wanna come back
@@snapsbyfox What a pity! The Hybrid Shooter is such a calm and nice guy, and I'm sure he should love to show you his city Ljublana. A long time I thought he was a German though, because of his detailed reviews.
You mistook Ljubljana (Slovenia) with Bratislava (Slovakia).
hmmm, i live here
