The list never went to the british police, it was meant for an internal propaganda department of the british government as a list of individuals who would refuse to work against communist influence in Britain. Orwell was pretty open about it in an interview, and even stated that he only listed those who he believed had knowingly attempted to whitewash the atrocities that were going on in communist countries and soviet puppet states.
Also, a snitch is usually someone who is involved in a criminal activity and then outs others. The whole 'snitch' part is about betrayal of fellow criminals, not reporting potential criminals. Orwell made it pretty clear that he was anti-communist, so those who were communist weren't his 'comrades' and thus he wasn't a snitch. And honestly, I couldn't care less, communism is a fucked up ideology and effort needed to be taken, both then and now, to make that clear to people.
Our Aussie standard for what makes someone a good politician:

I'm American who's been subscribed to your channel for a couple years now. I'm not personally invested in Australian politics specifically, but hearing an independent voice deconstructing the neoliberal narratives is like water in the desert. And environmental destruction due to political corruption and greed is relevant to all of us, in every country. We're all in this game, whether we want to be or not. Ecosystem collapse doesn't stop at national borders.
This whole thing has been a wild fucking ride, man. To see an independent, new age media voice actually move the needle and have profound positive effect on their country and resonate with so many politically disaffected others, (in spite of being ignored, then ridiculed, then demonized by legacy media outlets) well, it gives me hope and inspiration.

Friendlyjeordies is like one of those shows that starts off whimsical crazy and rather one-note, but then in later seasons hits you with the super emotional world- and character-building feels on such a deeper level it's almost profound.
I cannot believe he's morphed from Yilmaz and making fun of fucked up punters at Stereosonic...to commentary that actually nails the head on the state of our politics.
It's still whimsical crazy fun, but holy hell the transformation has been jaw dropping.
