"If I wanted to make money I wouldn't have got into politics" - Woman who earns 400k a year
Hahahaha Humdullah bro
Humdullah
If she’d never entered politics, she would never have had the option of earning over 100k.
It’s politics that gives her a cash platform to dive into any ocean or cash she wishes. Without it, she’d just be that creepy maskless woman in a hood from the ending of 1973s Dont Look Now.
She said “earn”…
and accepts all kinds of money under the table from lobbyists
imagine being that ignorant to say that out loud
*ONE* count of corruption! Ah, ah, ah...
*TWO* counts of corruption! Ah, ah, ah...
*THREE* counts of corruption! Ah, ah, ah...

Comparing Gladys to any Sesame Street character is a fucking insult to anyone that worked on that show
Grouch wouldnt even be friends with her and he is legitimately friends with garbage
Dude, they're made of felt. They have no feelings!
Did we not see Binchicken as Oscar the Grouch?

The show had a pedo on it so no it’s about the same…
“If I wanted to earn money I wouldn’t be in politics.” While getting $400k - holy shit, she is infuriating. Shows what sort of revenue streams are available in NSW that are off the books.
Well obviously $400k seems pretty low to those three, because they all actually make way more money than that. They aren't in it for a petty 400k, they have millions on all the side deals they have....
I've been saying it for years- a LOT of money flows through this country, it's just that us "normies" aren't allowed to see any of it, it just goes to the James packers, the rupert murdochs, the Gina Rineharts... and apparently the slomos and bere'jerk'lians.
Its a split economy. One half vibrant and prosperous, the other half poverty.
I want to be a politician

Did anyone actually cop any real consequences from that ? Like in end was it proved who exactly allowed it to happen ?
@@яяя-д1ч yep - as with all things in her electorate, the buck stops with Gladys as far as responsibility goes.
As far as accountability goes, she scoffed, shrugged and finger-pointed her way out of it like she does every time she makes a mess of something. To my knowledge there was no formal enquiry on it or if there was, it would have been a similar deal to the ICAC enquiry.

Kyle calling someone “3 chins” is the pot calling the kettle black if ever I’ve fucking heard it
And also saying someone else is overpaid
He says it with the resentment of someone who can't handle being the butt of someone else's jokes, like he was trying to make it light and funny but his nasty streak came out too strong. I think he probably still has a grudge against Dave Hughes for upstaging him more than 10 years ago, and J from Frenzal Rhomb even further back, and literally any other public figure that says a single word against him. The guy seemingly can't handle criticism whether he's receiving it or giving it.
And indicative of someone with no argument.
Not bad is it, coming from old "3 cells"
His whole head is fucking chin. 😂
Gladys don't care about wages, the real money comes from under the table
@@speedweasel you nailed it and she used that same shy girly girl tone when she said "oh I don't know" to the fat slobs question of why do they get more than you..........ffs
Demand a Federal ICAC
It's not even under the tables these days. Some of the dodgy deals are blatantly on display. All you need to do is deny doing anything wrong and it seems to just go away. If it's no longer in the media it simply never happened?
we were all thinking it
The real money comes in the first big business job she gets AFTER she gets booted out of the Premiers office !
So Gladys hooked up with her ICAC lawyer?? So when she was all over the media as "poor little me, I've given up on love. I will be single forever" sob story, she was actually pegging the Count at the same time.
She's ment to be a " role model for women in Australia and everywhere " but getting into a fuck buddy relationship straight after breaking up from a supposed serious long term relationship doesn't scream anything good.

That made me literally feel sick. The median pay is about $68k and having her $400k salary up there saying how she should be paid even more and she has the audacity to claim that she didn't get into politics for the money, like she's some kind of social worker on $50k.
Vile and TachyO .
Lol Gladys knows the salary means nothing because she earns so much more from corruption
It's so insignificant to her, that it was probably the first time she'd even seen the numbers.
And acting as if $400k isn't a f-ton of money is frankly skin crawling on it's own. She is a hop skip jump away from being Margaret Thatcher, except at least the Iron Lady was competent in her rule
What people don't say that matters as much as what they do say. ""Methodical" is how one staffer, choosing his words carefully, refers to the way she runs her office." That speaks volumes. If someone has to choose their words carefully, there's an underlying desire to say something else far less complimentary.

@@Beno27591 oh I 100% agree that they are all overpaid, especially without a universal basic income serving the lower classes of Australia who actually keep the country afloat and alive. What I resent is the callousness displayed towards one premier for an injury and not another in light of corruption. Dan certainly doesn't deserve $400K. I would argue that politicians should be on minimum wage regardless of station. Maybe that would test Gladys' assurance that she does her job for the love of it rather than grimacing at her "lowly $400K" as though it's the insult that Kyle and Jackie O make it out to be.

NSW premier’s responsibilities would eclipse easily any private sector equivalent in the NSW economy not just by monetary value but also all the extra ‘powers’ that come with it. Whilst her performance is naturally up for debate… that’s politics but this tit for tat over her salary is so stupid. What should the premiered be paid $200k, $100k….. how about $1,000,000 if you like her and $25k if you don’t. She’s not even the highest paid public servant in NSW by a long shot.

Why do Sky News hosts think that Democracy means complete freedom from all laws and regulations? I was under the impression that a Democracy was a system by which everyone had the ability to vote for their preferred political candidate unimpeded.
Assume this is a rhetorical question, because the very obvious answer is 'because that's what their audience wants to hear'
That's a poor excuse of a democracy you're suggesting.
That is part of what democracy is. The other part is the limit on government power. The human rights to freedom are not given by government, but are our rights beyond any government right to infringe upon it.
Basically, we have rights to freedom, self defence and the freedom to make our own personal decisions regardless of weather the governments of the world want to go full nazi or not.
In this case, it would be the governments, both left and right, who are responsible for the destruction of our individual human rights. Likely because they got a taste of power and thought “ohh this feels good”…. I don’t trust any government anymore regardless of what they say.

I’m a Victorian, and IMO Dan Andrews earned that money. He worked tirelessly to stem the spread of COVID, and as bad as it was it could have been worse without him.
And he didn’t ‘hurt his back’, he broke it. After carrying the state on it for over a year.
Lmao your kidding right?? Dan Andrews is a literal joke. He's as bad as Gladys. He locked down the state longer than wuhan. Because of him and Gladys we're laughing stocks to the rest of the world for locking down the state over 11 cases over a flu. Expecting security to not bang their clients is a fair call and aside from his decision to run horse races during lockdown (which he didn't go through with) he has been clear and concise with instructions and protocols.
Which worked for the state. Its truly tragic how life has been impacted by this but i like how no one (including the opposition) hasn't actually came up with any ideas of what he should have done. Instead they just go "hurr durr China, Dictator Dan, power hungry, treason".

That's the Aussie way. We pride ourselves on cracking open a beer, watching the cricket, and forgetting the real issues. We literally have made the ignorant larrikin a national character.

@@cart172 Agree. The larrikin character is continually reborn in popular culture, providing a model for behaviour and attitude especially directed at the most privileged group in our society: white males.
