You can always try epoxy sculpt to make new fingers and fix her hand, also to smooth over holes on face. I have seen miracle repairs using both the putty and clay smoothing with water. It states it is safe to use with vinyl, couldn’t hurt. 🤷🏼♀️😉🥰💕
Dried spider? How perfect for Halloween. She looks great. I think the flaws in any doll are part of their life story. My first American Girl doll was a flea market Nicki that came with her almost complete meet outfit and she has been my favorite for a long time.
Molly is my favorite and I’ve restored several! If you dip a toothbrush in boiling water and shake off the excess water, it’s perfect for brushing her bangs. It only takes a very light touch and they’ll look almost new again. It’s always my finishing touch when restoring PC dolls. Love how she turned out!
Does that work with super rough/dry hair too? I have a white body Kirsten who came to me with hair in awful condition. I did a boil wash and used a flat iron and improved the back of the hair a lot, but the top of her head and the bangs are still pretty terrible. I really don’t want to replace the wig because I think she might have tinsel hair. Or maybe not, but either way I don’t want to replace the wig.
@@prairierose_ There's only so much you can do if it's in super rough shape. I definitely wouldn't flat iron her bangs if you can help it since it's so hard to get the wave just right. I would suggest starting with just a room temp damp toothbrush, then change to hot water, then try the toothbrush in boiling water. Too much heat on the bags will straighten them out, so I would just go carefully and keep her eyes covered. If the ends of them are really bent and resemble split ends, I don't know how much this all will help. You might have to weigh up if you prefer tinsel hair vs a fresh wig. I hope that helps!
@@brutejonny Thank you for the advice! Unfortunately the ends do resemble split ends, but I will see what I can do. It might help just enough to make her look more presentable until I can find a wig that I like, if that’s what I choose to do. Thanks!
My favorite doll is Felicity. Molly turned out so cute! I love fixing up old dolls. American Girl is particularly fun to do. They clean up so well and are excellent quality.
I think she cleaned up very well! As for her hand I think it looks kinda like she's a disabled girl and it adds to her character! My favorite American Girl dolls are the CYOs as I think they're more personal but I also have a particular fondness for Corinne and Kira!
Well done! Especially the trick with the glasses. 😁👍 ...I never had an American Girl Doll since we don't have them in Europe. I had a Götz doll and a Waldorf doll my mom made for me. And later in school I made two Waldorf dolls myself. Every pupil has to make one in Waldorf schools (which my brother was not amused about 😄).
Wow! She came out really cute! You managed to salvage every bit of her. Even giving her glasses to hide the bite marks on her face.🤓 Even her missing fingers give her a little character. It tells a story of how she was saved and is still loved, even with her "special" hand! 🤗😍🥰
I, too bought a Pleasant Company “Molly” from Goodwill. I think I paid $2.99 for her. She was in really good shape except for the bad hair cut someone gave her. Lol I cleaned her up, tightened her limbs and she turned out great!! As I said before, her bangs had been cut short, and I had to even up her hair; but I am well pleased with her!!! Enjoyed your video today, thanks for sharing.
Ah your skills is so cool and amazing able to restore her. She look so adorable. My American Doll Jessie is very old when I got it from a flea market. Your video is so helpful for me,as I don't know how to restore her,as she is my first American Girl Doll. Thank You🌷🌷💜💜
I really enjoy restoration videos, it’s so fun to see a doll saved and made beautiful again! You did a wonderful job, she is adorable! Of all the girls, I always thought Molly was the “cutest…”But Kirsten has always been my absolute favorite. 💕 The spider in Molly‘s hair freaked me out though! Along the same lines, I have taken the stuffing out of a few dolls and it always creeps me out to stick my hand in and not know what I’m going to pull out. I have no idea what I think I’m going to find, but it just is creepy for some reason! 😳
I've never seen anybody use a wing nut thingies to restring an American Girl doll. Thats cool and very helpful if the store doesn't have the gold clasp things
I got a few crochet hooks I'm thinking I can get the tension cups out using those with the hair dryer and then knot the elastic using a crochet hook with some medical supplies
Hello, where can I buy these white capsules from the arms and legs, because they have become porous and broken. I can find any shop that offers these spare parts. Thanks for the answer.
I've used it for years and it's been fine for me but I don't have a chemistry degree or anything so who knows 🤣 it's made for super delicate stuff so I imagine it's way better than harsher detergents

I love it too, and I agree, AG tends to clean up particularly well.
Kaya. Not only did I think she was a pretty doll, but I loved her story, and finding her way back home.

Great job! Interesting to see how these dolls are put together... only recently started to collect these cuties 😆😂... never ends new dolly interests 💖
I'm always finding something new to love too 😆

Thank you so much 🥰
This was such an amazing restoration!
Molly is my favorite, but Felicity is a close second!
Thank you so much! It took several days and was a bit of work but I think it was worth it to give her new life 💜
I always end up watching your videos late at night when I can’t sleep. Great video BTW!

I think so too! I love dolls with stories and her hand tells a good one..the glasses really worked out well too 🤓

Thank you so much I hope you can get Jessie looking great 💜
The dead spider in her hair SENT ME 💀😂🕷 you did a great job!!!
I think that would have been a deal breaker for me lol
🤣🤣🤣 I feel like I paid $2 for the doll and $1 for the spider 🕷️
Very interesting video, I loved to see the process. I'd never seen the inner engineering of one of these dolls. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Thank you so much for watching 💜

I have pulled out some interesting stuff from stuffing before, once there was even a bit of shredded newspaper mixed in, not sure how that happens!
She looks great! I love the artist outfit! Honestly I was never a fan of the dolls but I loved the books and all their clothes and accessories!
The accessories and clothes were on point!
Fun makeover!
You did a great job on her.
Thank you so much 🥰
Your Welcome.
You did a good job of rehabbing her. She looks great!
Thank you so much 🥰
She looks so cute now! Well done! 😃

Great job. She turned out great. 💗
I've always wanted to complete fix a tlc rough doll. I have a hair cut Samantha with her leg hanging out of the socket with the elastic dangling
I got a few crochet hooks I'm thinking I can get the tension cups out using those with the hair dryer and then knot the elastic using a crochet hook with some medical supplies
She looks great.
Thank you so much 🥰
Beautiful job ❤️
Deff a great transformation! I would try epoxy sculpting for her hand ✋
Thank you for the tip!
Great job!😊
good job!
My favorite is Kirsten 💕🌸🌺❤️
💜💜💜
I gotta get Clorox wipes for when I bring home AG dolls 2nd hand.
She looks beautiful, cute teeth 💜🙋♀️💜
💜💜💜
She’s adorable
Thank you so much 🥰
Hi will you in the long run get her a new hand you really did a great job ❤
Hello, where can I buy these white capsules from the arms and legs, because they have become porous and broken. I can find any shop that offers these spare parts. Thanks for the answer.
I've never seen anybody use wool lite for washing a doll hair is it safe to use? Will it do any damage to the wig or vinyl,?
I've used it for years and it's been fine for me but I don't have a chemistry degree or anything so who knows 🤣 it's made for super delicate stuff so I imagine it's way better than harsher detergents
Maybe try using some kind of a Clay
or something to give Molly a new hand without sending her into the doll hospital for a new hand
What year do you think this molly is from? 90's or 2000s?
