I miss Seoul!
Me too 😅
Same here.
As a Korean man, I really want to give u a huge respect to your brave trying totally new food in your life, and also like your pure expressions of them. I really hope you can have a great unforgettable time here. And if u have any problems, leave a comment and hit me up man.
So nice to see my hometown and to walk along the memory lane. I like Zane's laid back style of discovering new places without busy agenda.
Your videos are amazing!!! I was born and raised in Seoul, now working in the states, and your videos make me want to go back and travel the city!!! I miss my country so bad 🥲
As expected, Korean food looks delicious!
I love your videos - they captured the beauty of Korea so well! I am from South Korea but have been living in the UK for past 5 years. I really miss Korea almost having homesick😢 I really miss mountains and greens, peaceful temples and so on😢 I hope you enjoy staying in Korea😊
I recommend Korean Fried Chicken.
Fried Chicken (Without any sauce, original fried) : BBQ - Gold olive fried chicken
Seasoned Spicy Chicken (Traditional(?) Korean style sauce) : Pelicana - Yangnyeom chicken
Soy sause Chicken / Honey-Soy sauce Chicken : Kyochon - GARLIC SOY, Honey combo
Crazy crispy Fried Boneless Chicken (Without any sauce, original fried) : NorangTongdak - Fried Boneless Chicken
Zane-really liked seeing your adventurous side at the night market trying foods outside your comfort zone.
Keep it going buddy-Kudos
His personality is so polite.
I like his styles of trevelling
Yes, quiet and understated. I like it.
You should try the raw beef with pear slices, it’s so good and i think the famous one with michelin star is in the gwanjang market
Seoul looks amazing city😊❤❤
It literally takes 5 minutes to learn the Korean alphabet. It will open up a whole new world once you learn it.
Totally agree with what u say. I have taught Korean to one of my foreign friends. Literally, it took just less than an hour for her to learn how to read Korean. Isn't it amazing???
Korean language is so phonetic. That's why it takes a shorter time to learn Korean compared to other languages.
@@sunnycho7040 Hello! I m sorry to bother, but do you know where i cab learn Korean please?
28:05 ah yes.. Dave Ramsay.. Gordon Ramsays long lost relative 😂
🤣
Was looking for this comment lol
@@mateokangme too 👌
Have a nice trip😊
Can't wait for this guy's next video where he will explore malls and eat food and go to cafés and walks around the street aimlessly as he does with every video in every country!
🤡
Love having a new vlogger to watch, love the content brother. Started with your Japan series and will keep up moving forward. Definitely got to catch up with your older content.
Zane, you are truly exploring! Thank you for sharing your experience ❣️❣️❣️
I’m not sure how I found you but I’m sure glad I did! I just love the way you just wander around discovering all kinds of things, that’s how I’d like to visit S Korea as well! Thanks for sharing look forward to seeing more!👍🏽❤️
I love how open and willing you are to try new foods. You exude so much positivity and your videos are endearing. I love it. You have a new follower 🥰
Lotte pronounced “lo-ddae”
I hope you enjoy my home country ❤️ !
hats off to you for walking up there. went there using the public bus and from the station to the tower was already a chore and it was winter.
Really like the videos 👍
Seoul looks amazing❤❤😊😊
Actually, Korean Food culture tends to pursue personal combination. This means that you can try to make combination with your fav flavors. One of most unfortunate thing in my side is you didn't dip your Kimbab at tteokbokki source ㅠㅠ.
Ps. And I recommend foreigners who want to travel Korea especially Seoul, Please don't go myeong-dong. Some retailers could overcharge the price (not all retail just particular) and prices are more than expensive than local area.
To help with your Korean pronunciation, just think of adding the letter "h" after every vowel or combination of vowels. It will generally work. So, if you can say ah (as in saying ah when you go to the doctor, etc for the following vowels), eh, ih, oh, and uh, you can correctuly pronounce most Korean words. So when you are pronouncing hanbok, prounounce it as hahn bohk. And you can prounounc Namsan Hanok Village as Nahm Sahn Hahn Ohk Village. Also, the eo combination of vowels is usually pronounced like a u as in uh. So when you went to Myeongdong, you could pronounce it as Myuhng Dohng.
All that good food you were eating in the market. Makes me want some korean food right now!!!!
Pancakes like Hessie Brown you mentioned are mung bean pancakes and they need to be dipped in soy sauce Mung bean pancakes are delicious if you dip them in soy sauce. If you just eat it, it's not good because it doesn't have salt
enjoying the videos mate! are you coming to Australia?
If you go to Namsan Hanok Village, you can see a beautiful hanok with a traditional residential style, but I don't think you've seen it❤
Thanks for the video. I feel like I am doing virtual travel to Korea.
I live in Colorado as well~~
Great vid
15:00 Usually the air in Seoul is very clean except spring (it's because of the sand dust from China)
Enjoyed again :)
Just FYI
1.
Han-bok(복) : (Traditional) Korean Clothes
Han-ok(옥) : (Traditional) Korean House
2. Namsangol Hanok Village
Embarrassingly, I didnt' know such place existed. Seoul tried to maintain some of the old-form of traditional village, they managed to gather that part of the city and made into multi purpose village in 1998.
3. You've donated your 500 won after getting that Pocari Sweat :)
4. Putting locks on the fence between lovers kind of started years ago. After that, it just became a thing for everyone who visit there. Seoul once had to stop people because they rusted and were just too heavy for the fences, but they decided to support it to be a cultural thing.
5. The lining up restaurant is one of the famous raw-beef dish restaurant.
6. Tteok-bok-ki(떡볶이)'s tteok is the rice-cake which you thought was cheese earlier.
Unlike western food, most of korean food have 'paring food' to eat with not just that very dish.
ex. tteokbokki should go with the Eomuk(Fish cake) soup and maybe Sun-dae(Blood sausage) or Twigims(Assorted Fries).
ex2. chicken feet dish is very spicy and it really is not to eat on its own. It's Anju(Food for alcohol) and pairs well with mild carbs dishes like rice balls or the gimbab you ordered later.
p.s. those gimbab is a simple version of ordinary gimbab (there's just too much to say...haha). It goes well, again, with some strong flavoured dishes.
p.s.2 if you're still around in Busan, I will take you to local places and show you how to enjoy.
7. Korean soup based dishes are very hot, it is not just ok to slurp in Korea, you should slurp in Korea lol and enjoy the raw hot-ness of the food without burning.
And you are meant to add Kimchi in either on your noodle or to your mouth while youre chewing the noodle and balace the flavour, and at the time you swallow them, take the bowl and drink a sip of the soup for easier/fulfilling swallow.. Then drink the shot of soju to cleans. and repeat. Yay!
8. Mungbin Pancake (Bindaetteok) is paired with pickled onion and Macgully(Rice wine). Just like you'd have ketchup and coke with your potato fries.
wow, thanks for all the explanations! If you don't mind i'd like to just add to #8 Mungbin Pancake = Nokdoojun (녹두전).
Can you tell me do and don't of buying street foods like tourist trap place where people should avoid. Recommend some cheap tasty street food place😊
your video is so satifying. 38 mins feel like 5 mins.
Have a nice trip in Korea.
Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩🇧🇩🎉
Thank you for the video! I really miss Korea, I wish I would try more of the Korean street food. Me and my husband do the hiking to the Namsam Tower, and I do not recommend unless you really like to hiking which was not my case, we was just following the maps and didn’t realize it was a hiking trail, it was funny the old ladies hiking and laughing about us struggling all the way to the top.
South Korea has it's days of harmful air pollution, especially during the winter months. china's fine dust + pollution moves in to the Korean peninsula.
I am now hungry. WOW
"Dave Ramsey was there"
Gordon Ramsey 🤣🤣🤣
Wow. You really enjoyed seoul good for you
Im a Korean but Im also traveling Seoul with your video, so funny. Amazing Seoul!
What did you use to film this, the quality is AWESOME.
You eat Korean food so well
It looks so delicious.
Locks at Namsan tower is committing to love! It’s a couple lock❤❤❤
21:03 “Subscribe”😆🙌🏻
You killed me when you said you thought Tteokbokki sauce was tomato sauce. That's a very innocent American perspective, which there is nothing wrong with.
Also when you said hope you'll be okay after eating a chicken foot and a bite of blood sausage 😅
34:00 EXACTLY! 100% correct.
Calling Gordon Ramsay Dave is the funniest thing I’ve heard all week but otherwise thank you for the vlog. Currently planning my first trip to South Korea and I’m so excited
My favorite thing about Seoul was the numerous very large parks throughout and the countless smaller ones! Didn’t know about the Namsan hanok park but went to like 7 other large ones haha
So is Seoul your favorite Asian city? Curious to see what is your ranking for Asian cities you visited. 😄
Your videos now showing my youtube algorithm.
16:14 The drink costs 500 won, but I think you paid 1,000 won and didn't take the 500 won change even though the vending machine gave it to you.
no it's 1500 won (there's 1 next to 500)
Haha I love that you kept calling Gordon Ramsey: Dave Ramsey haha
Very. Nice clip
I love your butchering of all Korean words 😅
17:44 it just says the stairs are built from the charity listed in the sign. :)
Nice ❤
How cute 🥰
decent videos but I'd like to see more focus on prices, especially of food since that's the 1st thing I look at when I decide to go on vacation somewhere 😅
Actually, you walked by the Netflix lady's booth couple times. I don't think she was working there the day you were there. But if you look carefully, there were signs of Netflix on the booth, its the one where you said there were a lot of people sitting down. Its too bad you missed her, she is very friendly. Maybe next time.....
What do you use to film this video? Love the content!
GoPro hero 11
29:15 Tteokbokki is not tomato sauce. It has Korean sauce called Gochujang(red pepper paste)😊
RUclips's strange recommendation system has guided me to your channel lol. The locks in Namsan Seoul Tower are for couples to "lock" their relationship for the world to see basically. Fun fact alot of those couples eventually do break up 😂 so its just a superstition thing
Gordon Ramsey my brother! lol Enjoy your videos!
16:24 change ….500won
I Love South Korea❤❤❤
24:20 gam-se-hab-ni-da 감-세-합-니-다
love it 😂
I’m sure you might crave Dr Pepper by now. 😅 BTW, I’m Korean living in the us and sometimes I want to drink chilsung cider instead of sprite although they taste similarly as you mentioned.
You were right in front of the Netflix Lady's place for a little while even pointed at it 🤣 27:07 and 27:20
Please eat with free fishcake soup next time~
16:23 you left the change 😂
I’ve been there and wrote on a locks
Now I'm soooooo hungry
Just for a second I was tempted to go and find your lock, but then you pulled out to show the galaxy of locks, and I said "OK, probably not" ^__^ But I was at Gwangjang Market this afternoon, and I'm actually eating the mung bean and meat pancakes I bought there right now, wow!
Dave Ramsey LOL
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
the bok is hanbok is close "boe" than "bawk" 👍
so you walked all the way to the tower and didn't go up it
💚
Han-boak
We spent the day at Namsan Seoul Tower and couldn’t find your locket unfortunately :(
