  • A couple of shots of Pacific National's ageing 48 class 'ALCO' fleet in Central West NSW.
First up we see 8146 and a well weathered 48123 departing Parkes with a short rake of loaded grain hoppers for the mill at Manildra. The 'grain inspectors' (pigeons) are very busy in the background.
Finally, this time at the end of the line at Tottenham, 48201-48144-48123-48162 are in the process of loading their train. Most regrettably I could not stay to follow the train back to Parkes and had to be content with a few shots of the train loading. The Tottenham Line is a lightly laid branch line and only 'branchliner' locos like the 48 class are permitted onto the track.
