- Part 2 of my BBQ kitchen build - Constructing the gazebo roof. How I built a gazebo on my own with power tools and a ladder.
Completed over several weekends for approx 5 months.
I've never done anything like this before. I knew the type of structure I wanted to build after looking at pictures online. The pre-made kits didn't give me the size I wanted and were too expensive, so I decided to go it alone (literally - did this by myself!). The hardest part was actually getting started! Once I ordered the 6" x 6" posts for the frame and started to dig the holes it gave me motivation to continue and research how to complete the next steps.
Gazebo size is L 4m x W 4m x H 2.5m
Hope you'll find it useful, interesting or even funny watching a novice trying to be a builder, chippie and roofer! I managed to not fall off the roof or loose any digits using power tools, so that's a bonus. If I can do it, so can you!
Just take that leap and start digging!
Part 1 is digging and cementing the posts.
Part 2 is the roof beams, roof covering and felt tiles.
Part 3 will be paving for the floor.
Part 4 will be adding the 2 back sides to the gazebo.
Part 5 will be the BBQ kitchen build for my kamado's, gas grill and maybe a wood fired pizza oven.
Please like and subscribe to follow my journey and good luck if you get inspired to build something of your own, big or small! 😁👍🔥

Cheers, didn’t see that.
Very useful video as I’m having a go myself.
Using 8” posts.
What size wood did you use for the perimeter beams? Look like 6x2?
@@fatboyhurstyt7985 Yes, 6x2 for the perimeter & top beam and 4x2 for the rafters 👍
