I've watched this 10 times already, and it never gets old!
My teachers in the 50's never hesitated to give me a big red F in Arithmetic. SO.... I'VE BEEN COMING HERE FOR REVENGE! and i'm getting it!
Because of you I don’t hate math anymore.❤️❤️❤️
5t/6 - 1/3 = t - 3/2 get the LCD of the /3 and /2
5t/6 - 2/6 = t - 9/6 and now just now multiply everything by 6
5t - 2 = 6t - 9 subtract 5t from both sides .. and add 9 to both sides
7 = t
That's how I learned how to do it in algebra in high school in 1992
@@mathewhorodner2000 I hate to admit it .. but for me it was 1972
At the title card, just starting my first formal math class (college intermediate Algebra) in >30 years, I think the answer is 3) 7.
LCD of the fractions is 6. Therefore, we rewrite the equation as:
5t/6 - 2/6 = t - 9/6.
Multiply both sides by 6 to take care of the fractions:
5t - 2 = 6t - 9.
Subtract 5t and -9 from both sides:
7 = t.

Thank you
The nice thing about this problem is that the denominator can remain "6" on both sides of the equation, and the answer is the positive value of the numerator on the right side.
got it 7 LCD of 6 and solve. thanks for an easy one.
5t/6-1/3=4/3=1.1 (t+1t-1)
7.
*e*
Got it because of my "test taker" skills. My algebra is still a work in progress but I tried it first and did not get very far. :(
May I... (5t - 2) / 6 = (2t - 3) / 2 so 5t - 2 = 6t - 9 or t = 7 (answer E)
Excellent video but teaching kids how to pass an exam is not teaching kids Maths. Your first method of trial and error would take up half the exam time and how many points would you get for a question like this? 1 or two. Solving equations is vital in mathematics and if you can do this well it will enable you to many things such as Trigonometry ( Soh-cah-toa) as well as two thirds of Physics.
The answer is always 'C', unless there are more than 4 options - 'E' in this case.
e) 7 pretty easy
5t-2=6t-9
t=9-2=7
T/6=3/2-1/3
T/6=9/6-2/6
T=7
7--- This required a lot of paper
Is 7
7 from the top of my head so why use 19 min?
Maybe you should go on to Calculus after we pat you on the back and assure you that you're so smart and worthy? now GET OFF OUR PAGE!
@@lamper2Smart? We learned this when I was about 15 years in 1962. No fuzz needing 19 minutes, just simple routine math. Mutiply with 6 and clean it all up.
@@kjellg6532 hese videos are aimed at people learning maths at this level and getting to grips with solving equations such as this. Go find a higher level if it's too easy for you.
Answer is 7 I know wrong😔
