  • Welcome to another episode of Trailmakers! Today I want to build a helicopter than can transform into a submarine using the same propellors for both air and underwater propulsion.

    About Trailmakers:
    In the toughest motoring expedition in the universe, you and your friends will build your own vehicles to cross a dangerous wasteland. Explore, crash horribly, use your wits to build a better rig, and get as far as you can with whatever spare parts you find on your way.
    Welcome to the Ultimate Expedition!
    Journey over grueling mountains, hazardous swamps, and bone-dry deserts on a distant world far from civilization - it is just you, your fellow adventurers and the amazing, jet-powered hover-buggy you built yourself. Explore, crash your vehicle, build a better one, and get as far as you can with whatever spare parts you find along your way.
    Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
    Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
    Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
    Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

    for the helicopter
    Name: Sea Minnow SH-16 (16 comes from the 16 minute video time)
    Description: Designed as a search and Rescue Helicopter, it can go in both air and water by pivoting it's main rotors toward the front of the craft, making it have propulsion from the main thrust even when in water, with the addition of a Reaction Wheel so the Sea Minnow can have an easy time with yaw control while still staying compact so that there is less weight to deal with when in the air. This Helicopter, with the aid of a good pilot, can go in tight areas where most might not be able to reach, along with reaching underwater areas to easily save whoever it is in distress. (this craft can also be used for exploration purposes due to the performance)
    here you go Scrap Man, i hope you enjoy the idea!!

    Only 6 guns avaiable and as much dynomite as you want

  • @MrMattkid
    @MrMattkid Год назад +1

    This would be the most OP Stealth helicopter, under the water there is no chopping noise from the blades. On a side note. The swash plate is pretty easy to make, all you need is the 1x2 hinges stacked with the directions perpendicular for the 2 layers. So to help visualize first layer place the hinges layer like this = and on the other layer like this || hope that's helpful. After that it's just programing the tilt. For a closer to realistic yaw control, you use logic with your helicopter rotors to slow down one set of blades depending on which direction you need to rotate. Admittedly the yaw controls are a lot more work than the swash plate. And if you really want you can still utilize your other controls with the swash plate, that might give you more precision control but not sure about that.

      In hindsight though, sonar would still be able to pick them up, but with it being so small it would still be hard to pinpoint it's exact position, but it would technically be possible to spot them.

    • @loke-42
      @loke-42 Год назад

      @@MrMattkid I think you're underestimating the power of sonar. It finds fish even at long distances, so what makes a helicopter so hard to find?

    • @MrMattkid
      @MrMattkid Год назад

      @Loke You see sonar works by bouncing sound off an object. But when you have massive blades chopping the water they interfere with the audio bounce back, especially considering the body of the craft can get complete cover behind the blades. That's why I said possible to spot it but not pinpoint it's location. If you just listening to ambient noise in the water with a military grade sonar system you'd know it's nearby but without any real direction, possibly a rough estimate that might be close enough to take it out. The pinging sonar on the other hand will can get an exact position however it only listens for it's ping frequency, and as I mentioned with the chopping, it might eat that sound frequency into the din of other noises, it could even end up scattering it in random directions causing a flood of False positives. When an object can't interfere with the sonar such as fish, I'll give you it's highly accurate.

    • @loke-42
