I do try to start with water though, but I eat breakfast every day, and when I have to skip it due to poor time management, I have granola bars to eat on the way to work/school and emergency frozen vegan meals to eat at my destination.

Of cause, not astonishing at all if you ask me, less processed means less production time and effort as well as no need to have a scientific development team behind it.
This difference makes me adamant to not call chickpea flour an egg substitute, cause it is just a whole food prepared similar, not something artificial created to be similar where you pay extra for.

Love this! I constantly have people telling me "Aw, I wish I could go vegan but it's too expensive" and I always have to explain that it really doesn't have to be expensive at all. Personally, I find it cheaper than what I was eating before I was vegan bc meat and dairy are actually quite expensive. I was even living before the poverty line and was still able to eat nutritious vegan food with staples like bananas, rice, beans, and oats. It only gets expensive when you buy the boujee alternatives that really aren't necessary.

    • @kraziiXIII
      @kraziiXIII 3 года назад +1

The hard part of being vegan isn't the actual food you have to eat but learning how to cook beyond meat, veggie, carb, repeat and learning how to slowly implement vegan choices. That is where I've been struggling the most.
Like I've come to view meat in the last six months as an occasional thing rather than a daily or even weekly thing. Same with a lot of dairy products. Like I have a sensitivity to milk so i haven't drank straight cow's milk in probably over two years, but I've struggled to find good replacements for yogurt, sour cream and my favorite food cheese. Chao slices have definitely saved my hind end for my grilled cheese fixes. Still haven't found a homemade vegan cheese yet or like cheese board cheese replacements or a good plain greek yogurt replacement.
I am trying to go for a practical, more realistic approach since I have issues with disordered eating and my end goal is to have 80% of my meals vegan, 15% vegetarian and 5% omnivore(?) for the time being. It gives me the flexibility I need to fall off the wagon or be a week day vegan and a weekend/special ocassion/holiday omnivore.

The reason I love watching most of these vegan recipes and videos, most of them just classify as halal food unless you are using alcohol or any item that is not halal. but all these nine recipes qualify as halal, so I can easily replicate them. even though I am not a vegan.

Yes!! and halal restaurants are usually great for vegetarians and vegans,so it goes both ways 💚

@Sstun Taar by ZSA omg exactly! Especially when you don’t live in a country where the majority isn’t Muslim, it can be very hard with products. I felt very happy seeing your comment, knowing we’re together in this :)

Bless you Rachel. As a college student I'm struggling to find a balance between healthy and appropriate for budget (not from US so a lot of the healthy stuff is expensive). Definitely gonna try these out.
Also William is so fun to watch!

The main staple of my weekly diet is a vegan chili recipe that I got from (pro skateboarder) Neen Williams' channel, and Rachel's interpretation of a vegan chili definitely gave me some ideas to try out. Saving this video for later!

I cook vegan since I'm 12 for variety, although I will never be able to go vegan. But there are just so many fun things to do you would not consider if not restricted and eating pizza, Macncheese and burger all days.
While I'm absolutely not a fan of soy and mock meats, I enjoy tempeh based on other legumes.
Soups and curries based on coconutmilk, cake using flax seeds instead of eggs and I totally love the tast of a good oatmilk in my coffee ^^

@@sarahelizabeth2359 for short, I totally could resist the temptation, I know cause I more or less recently crossed all and everything people crave from my plate...
But it does not make sense from a health perspective in my special case.

I am mainly vegan for dietary reasons. Meat isn't that exciting to me, I can't eat dairy or gluten....so vegan seems the easiest and safest for me.
