I brought the flamethrower to bot helldive and cooked berserkers, devastators, and hulks to Death The range is short, so u need to use cover extensively to get in there But the fact it can work is just Hilarious

Charging it to 3/4 is pretty much a safe mode shot and does barely any damage. Dont look at the meter, just count to 3 seconds A good way to demostrate that (although dont use that in normal play as its cheating) its so try to macro it with the charge times being 1 second(30% charge, 70% on meter), 2 seconds(half charge, 80% on meter) and 2.8 seconds (max charge, max charge)

Just confirmed you can: 2-shot bile titans to the head with the railgun (fully charged), one-shot chargers to the head with thermites, & one-shot stalkers (non-headshot) with the eruptor, & the napalm barrage is S-tier. All this from my first 3 drops back in over a month, and with so many new builds to try I'm apprehensively excited for the way the game is going... WE BACK

you GOTTA run fire armor, torcher, crispr (or whatever sidearm) and thermites, its such a fun combo (and it slaps SO hard) support weapon ideally flamethrower but consider bringing stalwart/mg/hmg for shriekers and heavies
You have to charge the railgun to nearly full charge to 2 tap most enemies rather than 3 -5tap. Try to make it a fraction a second before exploding. Around 90% charge is perfect ( cause most of the meter is the safe charge part and the damage increases the most at last seconds) some of the shots you took that looked as if they were 70% on the meter, they in fact were more of 30% (count time, dont look at the charge meter ratio)
I’ve been away from this game for a bit. Logged in last night and just fell in love all over again. Is it my imagination or did it get a bit of a graphical polish? Everything just looked subtly improved, but my time away meant it could have just been wishful thinking. The napalm strike and thermite grenade are fantastic additions to the Divers arsenal. 2024 has been a truly phenomenal year for game releases, so selecting one to be GOTY is a serious ask…but I called it back in February that that this was (already) mine and it’s nice to see that pushing into October and some serious launches in the interim, this is still the case. It absolutely nails the sense that you’re ALWAYS having constant fun and that you’re creating skin-of-the-teeth moments dynamically and organically all the time until the very last moment of Pelican extraction. H2 is an absolute masterpiece.
Tried it this morning before I left to work and it all felt amazing. I got to try out several weapons just from picking them off my fallen comrades and they all felt so good to use. I run without support weapons or backpacks, so picking up other people's weapons when they fall and bringing it back to them feels amazing now because there is variety for me based on my teams load out and knowing I'll survive to bring it back to them makes them happy too.
I get not running backpacks cause a lot of support weapons have mandatory backpacks. However. You don’t use support weapons? At all…? Man that’s at least 25%-33% of what you end up using to kill stuff with (assuming the base kit weapons and non-support stratagems take up a REALLY large portion of that). Also, I’m not really toxic, I’m a bit demanding on boosters, but I’ve only had to kick my team once in my entire helldiving career cause they were that bad, and I only have done what I’m about to say once. It was last Sunday believe it or not. But my team and I were handling a stratagem jammer, I die and my teammate gets it, he reinforces me… my amr is gone, the dude took it. I understand needing it in the heat of the moment when I was dead and your handling a stratagem jammer of all things, but he just kept on running and ignoring me when I was asking him for it with voice chat. So, I had to tk him because I would’ve been waiting over 7 MINUTES without a support weapon. All I’m saying is, eventually you’ll encounter people who get agitated due to the support weapon scavenging antics 😂. TLDR: I get not bringing backpacks, but at least take a support weapon, they’re an immeasurable help and they allow you to mow down enemies and you then select a primary to fill in the gaps and they are such a large aspect of the game that to not bring them yourself is likely handicapping your overall fun in the long run (Ik fun ain’t technically quantifiable or nothin, that’s just my take)

@@bradychapman5645 no worries. 😂 I just like doing team play things and I usually try to cover my team mates back by keeping low cool down offensive stratagems because I like to run and gun a lot. I usually take the risk of finding a weapon or backpack that randomly spawn within the map and it has played very favorably. Just this morning I found an arc thrower and a supply backpack. So it made me feel extremely powerful because now we had more ammo from me and I still had all 4 slots dedicated to clearing heavies and chaff. I usually bring stuff like 500kg, Orbital Precision Strike, Orbital Airburst Strike and Gas. It usually helps a lot when we start to get overwhelmed and most of my stratagems have extremely short cool downs to make sure I'm ready to assist my team mates with the extra fire power.
You can kill bile titans with 2 railgun shots over 95% charge to the head, and you can kill impalers with 2 thermites to the back leg. Have fun with this information, IO certainly have.
Can't wait to go back to using my old beloved build for bugs. Medical medium armor Blitzer, grenade pistol, fire grenade. Airstrike, napalm barrage (previously was Gatling barrage), flamethrower, rover guard dog. Super fun build it should be viable again!
My advice, try the orbital airburst, its radius is a bit more concise and less spread out than the eagle cluster, however, it has higher armor pen (4 to be specific), completely ERADICATES bile spewers, which are like low armor value bullet sponges normally. Additionally, it can kill chargers now considering their armor values have been changed, and also, because three Airburst strikes come down in the same spot, each subsequent one being a couple seconds after the previous, the next wave of bugs walk straight into it when it rain downs the shrapnel. My final point, orbital ab shrapnel, besides all the other benefits I mentioned, it has a short cooldown, and it just does straight up more damage than the cluster, if you don’t believe me on how good its damage is, the og eruptor shrapnel that was used was orbital airburst shrapnel. TLDR: Consider running the orbital airburst for a variety of reasons over the eagle cluster (though I will say the cluster has the benefit of a wider radius and multiple uses prior to cooldown)
I think the next buffs should be to the 380mm and 120mm barrages where they just fire triple the rounds at triple the fire rate to keep up with the napalm barrage
The orb napalm barage with the upgrades i have found has an average 50m minimum safe distance from beacon as for the 120 and 380 are average of 60 m. The napalm will be viable on bots due to its large DOT zone on negating a zone from chaff bots
I'm convinced that fire and gas don't work properly for me. When I throw those on breaches, I get 10-15 kills instead of 40 regardless of what enemy types are coming through the breach. The gatling does 30-40 regularly under the same circumstances.
Question: How stable is this build? There were two main reasons my friends and I stopped playing. 1) The game was becoming less fun with each patch and round of nerfs. 2) Each patch caused more and more of us to have more catastrophic CTD's and even one bluescreen. It looks like #1 has been improved here. How about #2?
Update removed so much of the frustration in the game. It does make it a little bit easier but the patrol system (may it burn in hell for eternity) still is going to swarm you infinitely it's just viable to actually fight them now
The thermite grenade can very much 1 shot any heavy enemy, i tried it on every one of them, as long as you stick it to their heads it's a 1 shot kill. Insanely powerful

Make sure it's not the shift key on your keyboard messing up causing you to stop running. The amount of running you do means the key is depressed a LOT. (if shift is the key you use to run)

Shield backpack is currently bugged. The Terminids melee doesn't register as a hit when its on. Enjoy while it lasts!
The alt tab is probably what caused the permanent run state issue. That happens to me in all sorts of games, and alt tab is always the culprit.
The shield is bugged for melee damage. You should have lost your shield several times. But balance changes in general look amazing.

Sm2 currently has worse connection issues for matchmaking but still fun to melee and run a smaller map or linear operations.

If you've seen Joozies you know you can actually parry bug melee attacks with well timed melees of your own
when they lunge, melee, its never said its a parry but pretty much does the same thing, cancels out an attack and stuns them

That sprint thing is because you were climbing steep terrain in case you forgot. Unless you have muscle enhancement booster.
shield gen is bugged (you are immune to melee damage). Confirmed by devs (top priority to fix)
I'm convinced that fire and gas don't work properly for me. When I throw those on breaches, I get 10-15 kills instead of 40 regardless of what enemy types are coming through the breach. The gatling does 30-40 regularly under the same circumstances.

Question: How stable is this build? There were two main reasons my friends and I stopped playing. 1) The game was becoming less fun with each patch and round of nerfs. 2) Each patch caused more and more of us to have more catastrophic CTD's and even one bluescreen. It looks like #1 has been improved here. How about #2?
Update removed so much of the frustration in the game. It does make it a little bit easier but the patrol system (may it burn in hell for eternity) still is going to swarm you infinitely it's just viable to actually fight them now
The thermite grenade can very much 1 shot any heavy enemy, i tried it on every one of them, as long as you stick it to their heads it's a 1 shot kill. Insanely powerful
Everything seems so much more fun now like it should be. I haven’t played in over a month because of how useless the weapons felt. And the new barrage is great, I mean an orbital barrage should be a big ass series of explosions controlling the enemy! That’s the point right?!

Been playing so much SM2. With no FOV slider in that game helldivers 2 feels like im zooming in light armor

Make sure it's not the shift key on your keyboard messing up causing you to stop running. The amount of running you do means the key is depressed a LOT. (if shift is the key you use to run)
Shield Generator seems to be bugged at the moment, enemy melee doesn't register as damage.

I remember 3 shots to the leg, swap to breaker half a mag +-1,2 shots dumped and done.
