    I've learnt more about DAZ in this 23 minutes video than during the whole week I've spent watching the official DAZ tutorials which somehow don't go to the point or offer a very short and too simple explanations about how to actually use it. And the tip about middle mouse button made me hit the thumps up button instantly (I hope I could send more than just one :D ). THANK YOU!!

      In a few weeks I’ll be releasing a continuation where I show how to use a DAZ/Blender plugin and import the posed model (including rig and textures) into Blender really easily, and from there you can continue to refine the pose/change the textures, light your character, etc. -- just in case you want to expand on this technique and work in Blender, which admittedly is much easier and the user experience is much friendlier. 😄

    I've played around with Daz as an artist tool for years, though I think I'm making the jump to fully 3d art now. To that end, I've been trying to learn more about the features I've been neglecting over the years, and looking through RUclips for tutorials to help with my education. I realize that you primarily use Blender (which I'm hoping to start learning as well), but your explanation of how to implement Daz was very well done. Thank you for sharing this video. I would also really love to see a video on how to set up an entire scene in DAZ Studio. I’ve only seen videos on how to pose individual characters but I haven’t seen any tutorials on how to create an entire scene with props & multiple characters. For someone who might want to use DAZ Studio to create a comic or graphic novel, it’s very important to learn how to set up a full scene with multiple characters interacting together. It helps to know how to manipulate the camera angle & lighting conditions in different ways. Also, learning shortcuts to get things done is very important because there are many scenes in a story and it’s not feasible to spend too long on posing the characters and setting up each 3D scene.

    Hey, just started watching the video. Thank you. I am a new artist, and been lately using 3D models that I draw over cuz I struggle furiously with anatomy. I am in parallel slowly studying anatomy (this is just a hobby for me, I work as acountant, so my time is limited for it). Knowing professional artists don't frown upon the usage of 3D tools (for either reference or drawing on top) is a nice thing as I am an extremely insecure person who is always finding an excuse to tell itself it's not worthy of the art I do.

    There are huge amounts of pose libraries in daz studio. So first of all I get a similar pose and apply it the whole figure. Then I fit the parts the figure to the desired result. It's simplify process very much.

    • @andrewbird8624
      @andrewbird8624 3 года назад +1

      @@POLYCOSM Shweeeet! You're ace. No animation just yet, just stills in Daz, Blender and PShop. Imagine trying to quickly conform a hand to grab another character: Do you use collision objects then pose the hand? 🤘🏽

    • @POLYCOSM
      @POLYCOSM  3 года назад

      Ahhh, I see! I don’t use any collisions, just manual posing ☺️

    • @andrewbird8624
      @andrewbird8624 3 года назад +1

      @@POLYCOSMManual labour! I've managed a little deformation with collisions; someone grabbing another persons arm and the skin deforming, but it's a little unwieldy. Works though, but I fear pshop pos-production is quicker to get the effect:) Many thanks again P!

      Thanks, Gentry! 😄 Omercan and I have been playing around with the idea of creating a «Making Of» series where we show our full illustration-processes. So in my case; showing how I do the set dressing for a scene, character posing, lighting in Blender and then the final paintover. But before then, I need to touch on a few areas in Blender such as how to add clothing, how to create cinematic renders, etc. But we will in due time! 😄💪
