I always interpreted that scene as The Lich being the one who almost rendered The Primordials extinct; I don't know why nor do I have an idea on how I can support that interpretation, but the idea that The Lich caused 3 mass death moments pretty interesting & terrifying.
maybe the lich killed primordials because a world of monsters isnt chaotic. it seems like it would be but in the liches telling, the world was just monsters and nothing else. thats not chaos, thats order. so maybe the lich is sent by golb to kill the primordials of worlds and allow other non-monster things to develop. things like time and space and planets and animals, stuff that is all different and chaotic. perhaps thats the liches real goal, he is meant to prepare a world for golb to consume by killing its order and allowing chaos to flourish. perhaps thats why golb cubified the lich in fionna and cake and why that lich was so despondent. he completed his purpose and there was nothing left for him to do so golb put him on the shelf with the others. all just mad theories ofc.
Exactly, how the heck would (even if he is uber smart with cosmic knowledge) he know what other primordials look like if he's never seen them, there's a decent argument to insist he's seen maybe orgalorg, but coconteppi if I remember correctly chronologically would've never known the lich if the lich only spawned from the comet, vice versa. Coconteppi and Orgalorg pretty much confirm that each beast shown is an accurate memory of what the others looked like in the sea. I also think it could be a good video to dive on into if Hunson abadeer might be a primordial, as in the (non-canon ooo encyclopedia) for some reason it mentions that hunson's earliest memory is eating a sandwich on a mountain in a sea of nothingness before time or things existed.
That would also make sense, after all it would not be hard to believe that a primordial would end up in hell and then consequently be the most powerful thing there and he does fit the aesthetic of a primordial other then being yellow however the main point against this is that you would think he would have been in the flashback. Not all powerful entities are primordials so Hunson could easily simply be merely the most powerful demon and was born along with the universe rather then before it because the universe started off pretty chaotic, also hes kinda weak to be a primordial considering what orgalorg who is a very small one was capable of.
@ I think hunson is more powerful than shown, he strangely makes a sword powerful enough to bind him which in a God context is an impressive feat because it goes back to the axiom of whether or not God can create something so powerful he can’t stop it although I’m sure if he really cared he could’ve found a way to go through his binds but if he did it would’ve probably caused a ton of destruction.
I feel like The Lich was a Primordial in a previous life, then reincarnated as a CC, then eventually became the undead mutant he is now. I mean we don't exactly know if every entity who was a CC has to have been one as their FIRST life, although I do feel like its implied. (Such as even though Gunther the dinosaur has some parallels to Finn, he's not a past life of Finn since Finn doesn't turn into him in Distant Lands.) I mean we know that Primordials can be hurt (Finn cutting Orgalorg in half from the inside) and even killed, or at least MOSTLY killed (as seen with Coconteppi, and I really wanna know what the hell was able to kill such a powerful being). All the named Primordials we've seen so far (a whopping TWO) have been gold with 4 eyes, with the number of eyes probably tying into GOLB somehow, which The Lich has neither. HOWEVER, since The Lich can take over bodies, maybe in his Primordial form he took over the green CC (kinda like how Orgalorg wanted to absorb its power, maybe Primordials are drawn to CCs.) since CCs are sentient.
i agree with most of what you said here like the implication that catalyst comets are the first life of the comet as they always reincarnate as themselfs and not anything else, and how the lich looks nothing like the other primordials that we have seen which just makes me believe that the lich is not a primordial and just the incarnation of the greem CC and his knowledge of the primordial can be explained by his age and him being a scholar of golb, which feels like less of a stretch then to say he is a primordial. and him rising above them doesnt make much sense as he is shown as sweet p
He very well could have had 4 eyes, but all of the other primordials in the sea of monsters have varying amounts of eyes. Also, we do know that when the mushroom bomb went off and his essence was released, he possessed a dead human body.
The main issue is that he would have had to have been something before the CC otherwise how could he have had such a developed motive and personality, if hes a rock for who knows how long and dormant for 66 million years that at most leaves it a couple centuries after the war to do the scholarly activities before billy killed it but it was actively trying to take over the world then. I think that it is similar to how pep but was taken over by Coconteppi but because of the fact that it wasnt the original body it displayed characteristics atypical to primordial, I would bet money that the Lich has been trying to end the universe since its inception and if thats true then it would have had to have been something before the CC and that original form however it looked was probably killed because things in the universe dont want it to end and stuff so it incarnated into a CC somehow. I do not know if the Lich is a primordial though it would explain a lot but the CC could not have been its original form, whatever it was before was probably far more powerful then the modern incarnation as it had not only all its powers and more but a body that wasnt made of tissue paper.
@Exqauilibur this is actually a really good point but i do still think that the major issue is him becoming a CC but whereelse could he have studied golb if he was at all times attempting to extinguish all life in the universe, i think that this could have happened durring the time between the striking of the comet to ooo and from when the mushroom bomb went off, he could have been dormant like he was in prismos time room and when he is dormant he can plan and think, who is to say he could not study golb in this time, i still believe this is less of a stretch than him being something before the comet since the comet reincarnates as itself every time, but just to believe that before the bomb wentoff he had the capacity to learn seems a bit more believable and i dont think anything said in the show disproves it.

Like cocontepi (or however you spell his name) is literally the protogener to all magic. And orgalorg being a world eater? Hell i bet there was primordials that embodied things like time, light, life even maybe.
If they were primordials, shouldn't they both have already been able to access the memories of the sea of monsters? I could see Warren possibly having been a primordial but idk about Jake, lol
I do hope I'm not coming off as a dick in this video, I just found it odd and found the idea he wasn't a little strange given the messages sent. What do you think? Think I'm overthinking?
He can be a primordial and still be the lst scholar of golb, the litch might predate the universe but golb is outside yet apart of all realities as the fundamental manifestation of entropy. Being a primordial doesn’t mean that you’re the top of the cake. Just look at orgalorg, after he got his shit rocked by a 16 year old, he gave up on being an interstellar tyrant hell bent on consuming a catalyst comet and eventually just became ice thing. I don’t think the litch being reincarnated primordial means he couldn’t be defined by his devotion to golb, nor that primordials are inherently ceaseless in their goals (we see orgalorg change his mind but also kokantepi just straight up died so I feel the litch loosing motivation and being wiped out by golbetty makes sense either way)
Well to be fair orgalorg more accurately was struck down by the god of mars (I really don’t feel like trying to spell his name because I forgot which grods are which) which drastically affected his power.
I wonder since he acts like a robot who has 1 task to do is to destroy the whole universe,if you don't try to stop him and wasnt fin for example...would he actually be neutral towards you?since he has bigger plans on killing everyone the most efficient way which was by wishing for everyone to die in that one episode...how about helping him get to that goal even tho its kinda dumb would he become your ally?
I wonder if GOLB can create primordials or at least bring them into existence since one of the monsters he creates also looks like one of the monsters shown in the vision there too
I think I recall watching a video saying the Lich preceded the primordials and that caused my confusion. This is the double edged sword of visual storytelling. It can be a strong tool for world building. But it can also backfire and cause confusion depending on the subjective interpretations and overall media literacy of the show’s viewers. Sometimes, you just need the writers to explicitly confirm what they were trying to get across.
One thing I'm curious about is how were the primordials still alive after the age of nothing assuming infinite time passed unless they were still there but dormant somehow?
I think he could be something similar to them at the very least if he isn't one himself. Maybe a being that didn't have an actual form, just existing until the CC ended up giving him one.
I gotta ask, do you have any interest in covering the King Worm? I just looked back at his episode recently and its definitely one of the more interesting ones.
Something I've been wandering is the exact scale of the "Before there was nothing" statement. Does it refer only to our main line universe (which i'm going to refer as "prime") or to the entire multiverse as a whole? Because if its the later that would mean that each primordial is a unique creature with no counterparts in other universes. Imagine a twin universe to prime, where everything is suppose to happen exactly like in it, that would be imposible, because stuff like the Orgalorg saga can't happen since he is in prime. But we know this scenario isn't true because the Lich does have diferent iterations across the multiverse. Maybe a solution to this is that whatever happened to his original primordial self was so bad that it shatered him across the multiverse in the form of infinite comets.
Aight so here's how i've always imagined it. like you said a while back it is VERY related to Gnosticism in my mind. The Lich remembers his "perfect" unbound self, his "monstrous origins" as it were. But the body he has now is that of a dead, PROTO-giant way, not to be confused w/ the irradiated and scientifically enhanced to an extent that is indistinguishable from magic- way the NEO-giants are. So the reason Sweet pea is a baboos isn't cuz the Lich just has poo-brain like that, He's LITERALLY a baby again. Hence why he's able to naturally live for centuries, and is larger than anything every made or achieved AFTER the Green catalyst comet, the "prison ship" of the evil- primordial energy that was the lich, who wanted existence to stop cuz he was used to the original sense of reality. GOLB being a manifestation of the cessation of the infinite, a completely foreign concept to these Primordials, extant, cancerously living eternal beings of vibes. And so he was effectively plucked from the nothing for wanting absolute entropy- not even chaos
Litch could’ve be the black sheep of the primordials who was able to rise above the rest because he was smarter than the rest who were like feral animals only listening to instincts
I've always viewed the lich as a second generation being. First generation beings are those of Chaos(Golb, orgalorg, ect). Second generation beings are those of Focused Intention(Great powers of the universe: Lich, Prismo, Cosmic owl). Third generation beings are those of Justice(Ancient Psychic Tandem War Elephant, Citadel Guardians). Fourth generation is balance(Elementals, vampires, ect). and Fifth generation being normal humans. Just because the Lich knows a lot about the first generation of beings doesn't make him a Primordial. He is someone who looks up to and wants to emulate those beings.
I may be misunderstanding how catalyst comets work but in my opinion, I think the lich isn’t a primordial and the reason why the lich has memories of the age of monsters is because as a catalyst comet he can travel to anywhere, in any timeline because catalyst comets aren’t restricted by time like past present and future just like the purple comet So the green catalyst comet before becoming an actual comet probably just travelled to the age of monsters before time and came back is all. And these comets are sentient so the reason other comets probably didn’t see the same thing like the blue comet is probably cause they don’t care. I like the green catalyst comet that desires knowledge and evil just like the lich
Something I noticed is that everyone who makes a Lich video takes everything he says at face value. I believe the Lich lies to make himself look cooler then he is. He's just a Gold wannabe
The Lich can peer into the era of nothing. One possible explanation for this is that the Lich is a Primordial. This is not the only Possible explanation in a world of fiction where anything can happen. Your interpretation is valid, so is everyone else's.
There’s still a difference in the validity because if he just randomly knows what they look like and is not one that creates a consistency problem because he shouldn’t randomly just know what the entire sea (or a portion) accurately looks like to scare people with if he’s not one. Randomly finding out data like this for someone who isn’t a primordial shouldn’t benefit him at all in any grand scheme.
I still dont think he is primodial because in adventure time land of the dead when the lich being reveal we get to see his incarnation now we can say its what finn remember of but the thing is we did see his comet incarnation finn have never see this incarnation showing this scene is for the audience since we the only one did see him as a comet if he is primordial it will be more sense showing him as one in this scene now this doesn't mean he has nothing to do with the primordial given how teach you scene happen I believe what happen is not that he is primordial he is the one ending them given his purpose and vast magical capability it stand to reason he did try to end all life before it even start by ending all primordial usually this should create time paradox but since in adventure time everything happen at the same time this cause this time paradox turn void
I think the lich is an unreliable narrator who is not above lying, exaggerating, downplaying, and omitting information to endorse his arguments. I don't think he is a primordial, but something different. something that probably ended the primordials though
The lich was not a primordial. He was personally created by golb as golb wanted someone to teach and worship him. This happened before time so he his older than time but not a primordial. Golb created his scholars. The others did not make it to see time. The lich did. But being born of golb "a chaotic being" could not take when order (time and space) came to be. He made it his one mission to end all life.
Even if he was created by Golb The definition of primordial is existing before existence And being one of golbs scholars doesn’t mean he was exactly created by golb
@themarshian5124 it's implied lore. That's what we are discussing. Lore. In this instance the "primordials" are the celestial monsters that agreed on what the universe should look like. Being called that because they existed before time. But just because the lich existed before time doesn't mean he's directly one of them. Implied lore.
How? That's as far back as the vision was shown. If we're going by what the vid said, the Lich only remembers up until the point of primordials, which is saying that he was one of them. He was created along with them. He can't go far back, because he didn't exist until the others.
The lich might have been the end of the sea of monsters given his usual role of exterminating all life

He is someone who looks up to and wants to emulate those beings.
it's kinda well accepted that lich was there to see the primordials
Do you think the Catalyst Comets came from the nothingness after the primordials? Maybe that's related to the lich going from primordial to comet?
0:33 let him cook
What the music used in the background, it's really nice?
because he looks like sweatp and the lich in that rising from the primordial scene that is what makes it unclear
If the Lich was one of them then who was Golb?, the first one or creator of this primordial soup of abominations?
daily uploads is rad
I may be misunderstanding how catalyst comets work but in my opinion, I think the lich isn’t a primordial and the reason why the lich has memories of the age of monsters is because as a catalyst comet he can travel to anywhere, in any timeline because catalyst comets aren’t restricted by time like past present and future just like the purple comet
So the green catalyst comet before becoming an actual comet probably just travelled to the age of monsters before time and came back is all. And these comets are sentient so the reason other comets probably didn’t see the same thing like the blue comet is probably cause they don’t care. I like the green catalyst comet that desires knowledge and evil just like the lich
I think lich is a primordeal
Bur for comet I always assumed he did loophole abuse like vecna
We got to eat well this week lol
So basically like Sauron? Not an OG but more of a prodigy
Something I noticed is that everyone who makes a Lich video takes everything he says at face value. I believe the Lich lies to make himself look cooler then he is. He's just a Gold wannabe
Oh. The age of nothingness was caused by the lich (probably)
I see you also like slay the princess
I just hope they fix lich next season
If Lich was primirdial, then the lich wouldn't have to be servent to Golb,
Please make a theory about the black-eyed girls
If he's a primordial, then how is he a comer
the bigger question is, is finn a primordial or was his first life the commet
First vid of 2025
Yaaaaayyyy
(I think)
Who’s oorgalorg son?
Make a vídeo about Ben 10 generator rex heroes united
Extra Nice 💛
Hell yeah finally someone gets it
I still dont think he is primodial because in adventure time land of the dead when the lich being reveal we get to see his incarnation now we can say its what finn remember of but the thing is we did see his comet incarnation finn have never see this incarnation showing this scene is for the audience since we the only one did see him as a comet if he is primordial it will be more sense showing him as one in this scene now this doesn't mean he has nothing to do with the primordial given how teach you scene happen I believe what happen is not that he is primordial he is the one ending them given his purpose and vast magical capability it stand to reason he did try to end all life before it even start by ending all primordial usually this should create time paradox but since in adventure time everything happen at the same time this cause this time paradox turn void
I think the lich is an unreliable narrator who is not above lying, exaggerating, downplaying, and omitting information to endorse his arguments. I don't think he is a primordial, but something different. something that probably ended the primordials though
He could be but we’re going off of what he also showed the king of OOO.
First
The lich was not a primordial.
Even if he was created by Golb The definition of primordial is existing before existence
And being one of golbs scholars doesn’t mean he was exactly created by golb
@themarshian5124 it's implied lore. That's what we are discussing. Lore. In this instance the "primordials" are the celestial monsters that agreed on what the universe should look like. Being called that because they existed before time. But just because the lich existed before time doesn't mean he's directly one of them. Implied lore.
Didn't the lich exist before the primordials did?
Why do you think that?
How? That's as far back as the vision was shown. If we're going by what the vid said, the Lich only remembers up until the point of primordials, which is saying that he was one of them. He was created along with them. He can't go far back, because he didn't exist until the others.
well, you don't simply exist before primordials, after you reach primordial nothing exists before you because you exist before everything
Golb might be the one who existed before given his own unique plane of existence
@@Samortez what about Prismo's boss?
Tbh did not know this was a debate I thought it was extremely clear even as a kid
