Mor is short for Moder, Far is short for Fader, Mormor is short for Moders Moder, Faster is short for Faders Syster, etc

Å isn't really river, if you're pedantic. It's more brook or stream. Flod or älv is river.

Isn't Fyrisån a river? At least in the spring.

@@herrbonk3635 It's all a bit floating (pun intended) with the definitions. For me å is a smaller thing but maybe stream and brook isn't covering all the åar. It's the same with words for settlements. Is a stad a town or city?

@@herrbonk3635 After checking som translation-sites and geology-sites, it seems like å can be both river and stream, but river can be å, flod or älv. So it's more of a difference between languages where the line (which isn't precisely defined in either language) is drawn. ❤️

      Now you are very wrong.
Like for instance the rivers of Halland (Ätran,Viskan,Nissan, Lagan) are all considered an å.
So is Lidan in Västergötland but sometimes referred as Älv .
The truth is much more complicated than this.

When he said "Cock in my throat", he was referring to a Rooster, you can hear him saying it but I think you spoke over him when he said it.
There's another similar phrase like "Jag skulle inte göra det ens för 5 öre" which is "Inte ens för allt smör i Småland" which directly translated is "Not even for all the butter in Småland".
Småland is one of the 25 provinces in Sweden, located in the southeast of Sweden on the other side of the Öland island. During history, a stereotype of someone from Småland is that mostly because back in time, it was mostly a agricultural province and the butter was usually high quality and because of the high quality, the butter was a good export supply for the rest of the country.
In this case, it kinda have the opposite saying, like "I wouldn't do it for a million bucks". The saying means that no offer is good enough for me to do it.

There is also another stereotype about Småland, namely that they are very stingy, so stingy in fact that as the saying goes "they scream in anger as they sh*t" - as that would mean they gave something away for free :D

Att ha skitit i det blå skåpet. Having crapped in the blue cupboard.
Is from the time when blue paint was expensive and only the finest cupboard was painted blue. So shitting in the nicest cupboard is not good at all.

This is kind of bull, or at least not very historically informed.
Honom and henne were orignally just for dative objects, not for accusative objects.
That's why people tend to say han and hon as accusative object.
Because the change in writing didn't really manage to change the spoken language.

The worst Swedish word ever is "hen". A woke disaster.

Stop trying to say words if you can't get even close.
Since you're brit of course you do and then think you're master in Swedish.
