  • This is one, everyone can make!!
    You only need 8 square pieces of paper...
    Don't think the video goes to fast... I showed one part in real time (and the other 7 fast, but you must fold them all the same...)

    This was a great tutorial! Some friends and I had a little origami party and sat around my laptop watching this video. Our stars turned out great! :)

    Love it. I've been meaning to make one of these for a long time, you inspired me to actually do it. I used TINY paper, 4cm square - the result is a tiny bit imperfect (I think it will "wear in" as it's used) but beautiful!

    Me gustó muchísimo, fácil, económico. Se lo haré a mis nietitos, seguramente se sorprenderán.

    oh my, this is great and seems so easy. I show crafts at a local nursing home and easy is what I need, they can't work with anything small. This will be great, thanks for the idea.

    Thanks for the tutorial dutchpapergirl! It's simple to make but looks tricky when completed so it really impresses those that don't know anything about origami.

    Just one comment from my side - it's easier to do all the folding (the putting all pieces together part) if you start making it as a ring, not as throwing star. Makes the last part much easier.

  • @jeffshi1345
    @jeffshi1345 12 лет назад

    I've been making them since I was 3 :P
    Around where I'm from (NY), we call them Ninja stars :P
    Some people call the ring a donut :P
    The ring is better for flying and aiming, and you can play a nice game of horseshoes with them, but the star looks much better.
    *Get rich quick scheme* (My friend used to do this)
    1. Make a bunch of these.
    2. Turn into star.
    3. Wrap in a hard foil (paper mache?)
    4. Burn the star
    5. Pour in liquid gold.
    6. Wait for it to dry.
    7. Profit :P

    what a great starter for moving origami! I cant wait to try. These would make great personal birthday cards, party invite cards for a small get together, or happy holiday cards ( the words happy holiday seem to offend some ), all with a surprise message after slide opening!

    Thanks for posting this - I've wanted to make one for a long time, and you inspired me. I made it from tiny paper! 4cm (about 1 5/8") square....the result has a tiny bit of inaccuracy that I think will work its way clear with "use" - but it's beautiful.

    Put the pieces together on a flat surface and when it is done flatten it between two books before trying to transform it so the folds stay put.
    Then it holds together quite nicely as long as you don't pull it too hard :)

  • @dutchpapergirl
    @dutchpapergirl  11 лет назад

    All the pieces are put together in the same way. That's why I onlu showed the first one in realtime and all the other parts fast...

    The term "construction paper" was associated with the material in the early 20th century, although the general process for creating the paper began in the late 19th century when industrialized paper production and synthetic dye technology were combined. Around that time, construction paper was primarily advertised for classroom settings as an effective canvas for supporting multiple drawing mediums. Ain't that beautiful? ;)

  • @02151d14

    I made it with 8 square paper with 3" x 3", it works perfectly, and much easier to transform than using large paper

    The best is to get two A4 sheets of of different colors and cut each A4 to 4 SQUARES AND ON THE THE OTHER ONE EQUALING 8 SQUARES TWO COLORS and make it and throw it in the "frisbee form" and if made right and thrown right it should fly great.

    If you do 12 colors the model will start to easily overlap or seem to become smaller. Causing the whole model to either rip or fall apart.
