It is hard to find quality youtube videos on Amazing origami models. I struck gold finding this video! very good! Thank you so much I like all you videos ~zopzzy
I love this kind of modular origami. The folding is so simple and the final product is amazing. plus you can have your kids help you with each piece. :D
thanks for the video, I just made mine, with 32 blk, 20 flourescent green and 20 flourescent orange, it looks amazing under dim lights, process time I'd say about 8 hrs from start to finish, only the assembly is a bit confusing, for the top and base I had to fold the tabs and insert in the pockets, I think it looks better and feels stronger, IMO, again, thanks for sharing, it's a nice project, from Mexico, keep it up Dutch!
thank you for sharing this video as well as your 'Modular Origami' video. i'm going to tinker with this type of origami a bit and see what other kind of constructs can be realized ;) namaste.
this is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool that i used all of my characters
All I could think about during this was 90s RPGs, it sounds like a track from Grandia : D which is really exciting. And then the tower inside reminded me of starfox : P
While it's not a starter project, me and several others have managed to finish it, following the video instructions. So I guess, dutchpapergirl didn't do too badly.
As far as I know, Origami is to make a representation of something out of a square paper, without cuts. This is cut, so I'm not sure it's still origami, but it sure is crafty.
Hello My Origami Amigo I really Like this Origami twisted Tower and was hoping you could Make the Video Tutorial But an Extended Longer version so it Helps us people out who are getting stuck.. Hope you can make another video of this but much longer version Thks in Advance...
To improve it you shouldn't have had still pics with text, you should have filmed you doing the whole process; I agree it was a bit too confusing. but I really like the project- looks so cool!
I AM NOT SURE. But she scrolled her fingers across a mountain fold, couldn't it be only parallel to that one? I'd have to do the module and see it for myself, but I'm really not in the mood xD
Hello, Helpful Video ! I managed to get it working! I'm wondering if you could help me, I would like to make a version of the tower ( eventually a much bigger one ) but I would like it to not be cylindrical but conical, i.e its wider at one end. But not actually going into a point, like a cone with its top chopped off if that makes sense. I'm wondering if this would be possible, if so, how ?! and if it would still move in the same way ? Please help !! thank you !
There are two types, Tower (T) and Outside (O) (Outiside = Top & Bottom) So, as you see there are no green at the bottom and top are; only made of 4 red & 4 yellow respectively. So, these are the numbers: - 32 Green (T) - 12 Red (T) - 8 Red (O) - 12 Yellow (T) - 8 Yellow (O) + ______________________ 32 Green, 20 Red, 20 Yellow = 72 Modules Any other question, feel free to ask. I made this one with 15x15 cm
Loved it. Thanks! Just wondering - where do you keep all of your paper projects? I know they must take a lot of space. Do you take them apart or do you put them all on shelves and display them?
@lazyhazycrazy We have a large attic... i do not take them apart; that would be heartbreaking to me.Sometimes I give it away. And I always display something....
Hi, Would this type of collapsible structures be possible to translate into tent-folding? I am thinking about being able to transport whole tents for catastrophic sites, to fast be able to erect the structures instantly. For creating cheap and quick shelter for people in the event of natural disasters or war-refugee-camps ? Or do you have knowledge of other types of "folds" and combinations that would be even better for such a purpose? Please contact me for discussing this!!! :D
Amazing! Very nice model!
Love this video, Man this brings me back. Cant believe this video has been out for over 11 years

looks like transforming ninja star from top
+Connor Cormier in the bottom as well lol

I didn't get lost. Then again I've been folding origami for about 2 years. By the way really cool. I look forward to folding it.
My dear dutchpapergirl: This is the answer for a radial parking zone, an amazing concept in engineering.
:D
thank you for sharing this video as well as your 'Modular Origami' video. i'm going to tinker with this type of origami a bit and see what other kind of constructs can be realized ;) namaste.
Thats cool!. I will try it at home. Thank you for the tutorial.😘

this is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool that i used all of my characters
The view of inside the tunnel are really cool.
You need a lot of patience and time but it´s worth it: at the end, you´ve got a fascinating construction.
OMG! I totally MUST fold this model!! My next weekend project :D
yipeeeeee!i made 1 and even longer!thanks for the tutorial.....more to come pls.
All I could think about during this was 90s RPGs, it sounds like a track from Grandia : D which is really exciting. And then the tower inside reminded me of starfox : P
this looks very neat
When you twist it, it looks like a ninja star!!
looks really pretty
muy muy bonito.y muy curioso---very very nice.and very curious
@firtha06 This is kids folding paper, so it is thicker than ordinary origami paper.
Fold them really neatly around each other!
I'll prob do this when I go and get some more origami paper! lol, lookin forward to it :P
Nice I made this with some old flyers. Reduce, Reuse,Recycle!!
I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO MAKE THIS FOR SO LONG THANK YOU SO MUCH :D
While it's not a starter project, me and several others have managed to finish it, following the video instructions. So I guess, dutchpapergirl didn't do too badly.
Oh wow, that is neat!
Wow, you've got the patient thingy xD Nice work!
Assembly was a nightmare, but I did it! I'm so happy now :) Thanks for yet another great tutorial.
Groetjes en bedankt.
This is just amazing!
Wait, am sorry I guess I didn't know you were famous since I've never seen any of your videos, but now that I know. Good Job!
@warriorsrock123 T parts are the parts in the tower. The O parts are the parts at both ends! (16 in total)
@akadanny i think you must use 8 parts in a circle, so you can just make 2 circles...
wow the twisted tower is awsome
Хорошая модель, эффектная.
awesome origami
As far as I know, Origami is to make a representation of something out of a square paper, without cuts. This is cut, so I'm not sure it's still origami, but it sure is crafty.
I suggest making the single strip curlicue by Anne Brill.
It's a nice model
Hello My Origami Amigo I really Like this Origami twisted Tower and was hoping you could Make the Video Tutorial But an Extended Longer version so it Helps us people out who are getting stuck..
Hope you can make another video of this but much longer version Thks in Advance...
awesome!
too bad I origami papers are
rare in my country T_T good vid btw
@jingkang468 yep!
To improve it you shouldn't have had still pics with text, you should have filmed you doing the whole process; I agree it was a bit too confusing. but I really like the project- looks so cool!
hi, very scientific , great !!!!
On the other hand... more earnings for me... :)
I can't understand the final fold of the "O" module, at 6:57. Is that an arbitrary fold or does it have a refference point on the back? Thanks
I AM NOT SURE. But she scrolled her fingers across a mountain fold, couldn't it be only parallel to that one?
I'd have to do the module and see it for myself, but I'm really not in the mood xD
She make it in 10 minutes ..and it took me about 10 days!!!! Ha! I did it at last.. har har harrrr....
I REALLY LIKE IT
I still think it is amazing!
Really cool
Yes, ordinary origami paper is way to thin. I used kids folding paper... Because it's cheaper, it's thicker.
Yep, I made one with same colors and exact measures as you say.
Made a video response =)
Look at (and read) 3:40
In the end, it's arbitrary, because you can go on, adding rings, until you're fed up.
;)
lol i just made a few transforming shurikens and did 9 usnits for each instead of 8 and it worked for this.
now that is awesome
I wasn't expecting that near 0:40
folding paper for kids then?
Oh dear. I'm going to need a lot more paper and a lot more patience for this one. Challenge accepted.
Hey, bad thing is I don't have that much Origami paper because if I did
I would've made it and by the way you should be famous!(Suscribed)
Thanks for the tip!
@TheOrigamiLord good question... I do not know the answer just yet, because I used double colored paper...
@Alphasys This is called modular origami
Reminds me of the Flower tower model by Chris Palmer :)
I can see what you mean.
I want to make that one as well ... I saw he made a tuto
Made it.... :-)
Awesome
@solange4004 Gracias!
Good for using as an abat-jour. :D
@makaylafeeney No, because then it can not move anymore!!!!

Any other question, feel free to ask. I made this one with 15x15 cm
@akadanny so how many pieces of paper in total do i use????
@ROBLOXOrigami Note that every ring has a certain amount of pieces!!!
THanks for the comment :)
This paper is ordinary kids folding paper. I try to buy my maper the ric\ght size, because it is a precise work and a lot of work to cut it.
@saadhityavikram That would be really azaming!!!
awesome
the top of the tower looks like a transforming ninja star ahah
You can do as much layers as you want? or is it obligatory to do this number of layers?
how did you closed the bottom? red and yellow ? or is it green to green?
Loved it. Thanks!
Just wondering - where do you keep all of your paper projects? I know they must take a lot of space. Do you take them apart or do you put them all on shelves and display them?
Cool
@lazyhazycrazy We have a large attic... i do not take them apart; that would be heartbreaking to me.Sometimes I give it away. And I always display something....
i try tto do the bottom first but either way the bottom is falling apart!
How is this module called? and what other shapes besides the durian can you make with it? Thank you for all the great videos!
I would like to ask how to connect the O part with the T part.
I love your soundtracks, could you tell me what songs you use?
@dutchpapergirl but am i able to do it with 18 squares of paper instead of 36, would it be smaller???
amazing
good night @dutchpapergirl one question I can put more levels or so is ideal, I really like your videos
Do I need 36 full-squares or 36 half-squares(18 full-squares)?
@KlaasStortebeker Goed gedaan!
Yes the assembly is a bit of a nightmare...
Ikr. I was gonna say that but you already said it xD.
What would improve the vid?
this looks diifficult. i need to put all my origami powers. TO MAX!!!
but can it still be origami paper?
that is all the paper I have and I am looking forward
to making it....

Will this work with any size square?
O parts are for the bottomm and top, T parts are for the rest (Floors of the tower you might ssay)
use paer that is a bit stronger
