Spoilers for the end of the game
After that bombing run, the game was lost for Blodir. By the time he could have moved his flagship up to Andy's base, Andy could have made plasma shields to protect his eco, and the one flagship by itself wouldn't have won it for him. Blodir lost his entire base, aside from the gantry, he had no ground forces, the catapult was dead, he had no energy income, no metal income, so no more production, while Andy's reinforcements were streaming down in full force, which would have taken out the gantry and everything else Blodir had left, leaving him only with a single flagship. Nothing the single flagship could have done to shift the outcome of the game.
Really epic game though by both players, was very close multiple times and could have gone either way, but the surprise mass air proved too deadly.

Catapults are so good against snipers or starlights, it was a shame to not see them sooner.
