I usually don't comment, but I JUST had to say, that that trucker is VERY dangerous! It's obvious he didn't check his load enroute, his brake lights are on the mirror frames, and he had to idle the tractor up to build air I assume. Wonder when he had a DOT inspection, if ever! Very scary that he operates that crap on the roads we're on!

As someone who used to haul heavy plant machinery and oversized loads this was a shit show. Here in Scotland that trailer would never have passed inspection with the rotten floor. Crazy thing is these guys share the road with us and our families. Scary
I too have done years of recovery work. We took pride in our kit. If anything was damaged. We fixed. We would never turn out with faulty trailers missing ramps. Then to load up and not have the bus fully supported. The driver knew all this before he turned up. Hes just a jungle trucky out for money. Giving the recovery trade a real bad name.
Scott, whoever owns that bus is one lucky person. First that his unit didn't fall off or all the way through that trailer and two because you were there to get it off safely and will repair it the right way! The bus owner should buy a lottery ticket and share the proceeds with the BGM! Happy New Year!

This a perfect example of why you refuse to use any truck that shows up for the pickup with their name and numbers written on a piece of paper and taped to the side of the truck.
The paper with the fmcsa and dot numbers is actually pretty common for owner operators who run under multiple authorities, the home window air conditioner installed in a hole hacked in the rear sleeper wall is much more troubling.
How that truck got though the scales with the trailer like that is beyond me. Either way it is a good thing it arrived intact. Hopefully that poor tire up front wasn't damaged internally but if it was these videos provide video proof of how it arrived before even touching it at all. It is good that the truck driver used his truck to offload. Hopefully the trek up the hill will go without issue. a great video Scott...I hope you and yours had a great Christmas.

I'm amazed that the cops did not pull him over and fine the operator for a trailer like that? Where I live this kind of setup and trailer would be considered dangerous and if the cops happen to pull ya over. They would not allow you to move with the trailer like that at all. All the cargo would needs to be put on another trailer that is road worthy. EU laws on trailers are way more enforced than in the states.

Bad wood seems to be an issue that a lot of these older trailers have. Had a guy show up to haul a boat on a trailer and he said he usually hauled containers and this was his first boat. I think they sent him as a punishment. We got it loaded and unloaded with no problems, but that trailer was pretty sketchy

I drove OTR for 21 years. That has to the shoddiest trailer and securement I've ever seen! Had it not been for the holidays I'm sure that truck and trailer would have been stopped and put out of service. Owners need to research trailering before signing with the low bidder. Someone's going to be killed when a bus comes off one of these fly by night operators rigs.

As a commercial truck driver , NEVER HIRE the lowest $. I saw that this truck was a new truck with a paper sign with his Name, and DOT numbers. Get references when hiring a truck.

I noticed the window air conditioner in the back of the cab. I doubt that it was a factory accessory.

Bouncing for 700 plus miles and over a few days. Steer tires are very important to not abuse
Those tires are also very expensive. My dump truck uses the same size. I priced new ones at a $1,000 apiece.

Never trust a truck driver that has a window air conditioner install in the back of their cab. I can't imagine what D.O.T. would have done to this guy had they caught him.
