In regards to the washing machine data usage, I really hope Asus fixes their bad data usage statistics. I have had times where it reports 35PB (yes petabytes) of traffic in a single second which makes the graph completely unreadable because of the automatic scale size.
if anything i imagine that apple allowing side loading there will bring some talent to jail breaking to figure out how to make it possible here. new code means potential new vulnerabilities
100mb of data... for an iot device, is still WAYYYYYYYYY too much data. If it has remote monitoring / activation of stuff, sure? But still, that's ridiculous.
I can't imagine the sideloading exclusivity will last very long once all the doom and gloom apple pretended would happen doesn't and our legislators push them into it.
If I remember correctly, there was credible speculation that suggests that Apple will likely rely on the GPS chip instead of IP address to determine your location. Not impossible to safely spoof but much harder. That could also potentially cause other problems - ex if you spoof into the EU then turn it off to resume normal life, will your app still get updates? Will you have to re-spoof periodically to manually check for updates? Ultimately we'll just have to see how it all shakes out. -N
No you'd literally have to change the country your phone is "housed" in which you do when traveling in the settings. The side effect is this will stop your phone working or rack up roaming charges. Apple is...very aware of where you are.
I thought it was already shown that a lot of apple services evade the vpn anyway? And even then i'm sure there's multiple checks in place to prevent it. Could go by gps, ip, serial number, location of where the apple ID was registered, etc.
