    Well my first weapons mounted light was a surefire 6p light I mounted on my ar15 carbine. And even though it was only 60 or 65 lumens it put out a fair amount of light for building searches and it was OK for outside use. It had a dimpled reflector that helped with light out put. And after I retired as a federal law enforcement officer. I really never gave any thoughts about installing one on my own ar15. And about three years ago I began checking for a weapons light to fit on my ar9 carbine, which is my primary home defensive weapon. And I bought the streamlight protac HLX to mount on it. And not only was I amazed by the light output. That I got another one for my ar15 carbine. And to be honest I'm happy with my decision. And I was so impressed I got and mounted one on my glock 19 and another one on my glock 23 and a third on my sig320c. And as far the debate between the two lights. Consider it a non issue. And just a bunch of necessary noise. Both lights are equal in preformance and quality from what I've noticed. And basically you get everything you need to mount your light to your weapon. The only thing I got extra was the cloud light control mount. And it is the best system to light cable and protect it. And it just looks better. And it worked so well I mounted the same set up on my ar15 carbine. And I had mounted a streamlight compact weapons mounted light on my glock 23. But soon after I upgraded to a tlr8a light on my glock 19 and added another of the tlr8 a to my glock19. And to my sig320c. And as far as the surefire and streamlight debate goes it's nothing but noise to me. And I could care less. And my setup works great for my needs. And as for the great debate over weapons lights, I'm not interested in what's trendy or popular, I'm interested in the preformance for my needs.

    great comparison. it almost looked like the x300 put out more even surrounding light which might help with situational awareness in a really dark setting. that being said, ill probably go with the streamlight because i like the quick attachment setup and the price point. i would like to see a video comparing their durability but im not police or military so i probably wont be rolling around in the dirt with it or wrestling around with a perp. ill mostly use it for home defense. maybe ill take some night shooting classes in the future. either way, good video man. liked and subbed.

    Great video dude. I have two pieces of feedback though. The first one is serious and the second one is still kinda serious but I’m just busting your chops.
    1: when talking about the switch on the TLR you said “this has the ability to strobe and I accidentally strobe all the time” of something to that effect. I wish had elaborated more on what caused the accidental strobe and also how you activate it when you’re doing it intentionally.
    2: when installing the surefire you could always hold the gun with your support hand that way you can see what you’re doing 😂 just a thought

    • @YourFavoriteLibertarian
      @YourFavoriteLibertarian  2 года назад

      1. I've made a video on how to disable strobe
      ruclips.net/video/SQMO6WYgweE/видео.html
      and talk about how to activate it as well. But what I saw and what happened to me a couple times in the last last low light class I took was...when I'd draw and try to activate constant on, I wouldn't push the switch all the way up, then I'd push it up again to get it all the way in position. That was recognized as a double tap by the light and gave me constant strobe.
      Somehow I was paired up with the only other guy with the tlr-1 hl and the way he was drawing and the position of his holster produced constant strobe pretty much every time he drew. I think his outside the waist band holster was too close to his belt or coat. So every time he would draw, his switches would catch the belt or fabric on the way out. I wish we would have know how to disable strobe then.
      2. Fair point. Lol

    My TLR-1 HL battery tray broke rendering the light useless after 6 years of very light usage. I sent it to Streamlight for repair and bought a X300U-A brand new as a replacement. Well I'm returning the Surefire because the constant-on switch was defective and only turned on the light by rotating in one direction. Not what I expected from Surefire. So both lights suck I guess...

      @YourFavoriteLibertarian  8 месяцев назад +1

      Man! Some guys have all the luck! lol. I've had some serious issues with Surefire dual fuel lights and their customer service was really bad. I pretty much use Streamlight exclusively with the exception of longer distance lights. I have 1 Modlite OKW for longer range illumination but unfortunately, I can't recommend their pistol light as they have had issues as well. Sounds like you'll just need to hope that some new lights come out this shot show that work.

      @@weaponeer8582 I'm in the same school of thought as @Weaponeer unless someone can explain the advantage of only shooting 1 round instead of several at that range.
