- During his testimony on Wednesday, Johnny Depp testified how his relationship with Amber Heard affected his substance abuse issues. Depp stated that he needed something to distance his heart from Heard's verbal attacks. In his own words, "I had to have something to maintain me."

I can totally relate to what he is saying. Having been in a relationship with a narcissist, I found myself drinking to escape the constant mental torture. In previous testimony, he says that when they first met, she was "too good to be true", this is the lovebombing stage of a relationship with a person with NPD, followed by endless mind games that have you questioning everything about yourself. I can empathize and I hope he wins this case and she ends up in jail. Justice for Johnny.

That’s because they ARE too good to be true. The mind games, the psychological projection, the lies, the mood changes like waiting for the other shoe to fall off, all the traits of a narcissist, I experienced with him at his home in another country, the most bizarre 2 weeks I have ever lived. It opened my mind, I went on to learn everything about narcissism and psychopathy.

Nowadays he is so busy in defending himself from his ex wife in the court of the law and no big movie production company offers him a job. He said that he is starting to look for a small production company to make a movie.

If she truly loved him and thought he had a problem, she would’ve gotten sober with him. She didn’t care about him.
When he said she insisted on giving him a glass of wine every evening after work as soon as he came home, as a counselor my first thought was that this is a classic with alcoholics that try to normalise their problem by making others drink with them.
I think that Johnny is recreating his parents' relationship: a passive placating father and a volatile and abusive mother. Johnny was dicknapped by Amber's beauty and ignored the red flags and it is likely that his father did the same. I wouldn't be surprised if Johnny unconsciously sought female therapists so that he could charm them out of challenging him. People often think that therapy solves everything, but if you don't get the right therapist who will really make you work, you can spend years talking and solving nothing.

When Johnny smirks and smiles during testimony, he's so used to violence, all he can do is either laugh it off or cry or get angry. Sad to be in this situation.
It wasn’t his drinking or drug use that was the problem, it was the fact that she didn’t have control. This is a man in his 50s who’s a huge celeb, clearly has partied, done drugs and drunk with it not effecting his career or relationships. 50 years is a long time and with all of his relationships and media coverage, for not one person to come forward before this woman, it really is a weak argument.

Been listening to this trial with tears streaming down my face and all I want to do is protect him and give him such a big hug...He never wanted to be like his abusive mother, was never going to be the parent she was to his kids, was so generous with people who came into his life expecting nothing in return, suffering drug addictions and alcoholism that Amber weaponized against him. I just want to hug him. Hope this trial brings better people to him and he's surrounded by the love and care he deserves.

I don't understand her facial expressions.. she starred at him the same way the teacher would stare at his student who is performing (and checks if everything goes according to plan) - then she suddenly smiles after 2 bottles of wine have been mentioned, then she gave him a look full of hate. Narcissists hate their victims because they believe the victims owns/posses something they believe they are entitled to.

If nothing else, the Depp/Heard Trial has given the world a new and painful awareness of the value of Film Editors.
He didn't have a chance staying sober with her. She's just cruel. To say that she and her free-loading friends and family took advantage of him would be a huge understatement. I hope Mr. Depp now understands that being around others who have no regard for his sobriety, including those who are drinking, is not worth it.
He described being addicted to opioids perfectly … I was on them 13 years .. you have to experience it to describe like he did

Johnny, you have highlighted a large issue at about 23 minutes in: MEN, listen to your children and ask questions about their step mother. Regardless if this was or wasn't the case with Depp kids being left to endure a step mother like many are, please know that the stats of your child dying at the hands of a step parent ARE ASTRONOMICAL and women can get away with so much, still today. Ask them if they were threatened, or if your life or a dog etc has been threatened if they tell. Hopefully you will have this discussion before they face it BUT WOMEN, AND I AM ONE, thankfully 55+, but women who have abusive childhoods are to be watched. If they are talking to it from the start, time to move on.

This isn’t every step parent and need to remove the stigma of being a step parent the actions of a few are not all I’m a step parent and have never hurt my step child and I know lots of step parents it’s comments like this that hurt relationships between step parents and children. This case is an extreme but I can be said of parents generally too parents can be just as abusive doesn’t mean all are .

I watched Rum Diary for the first time and wow she used to be gorgeous. As far as the public hearing all their secrets...maybe this will help people to stop idolizing actors.
