The most unrealistic part about this is the fact that the president isn't 102 years old but instead closer to an actual average American.

Well I got news for you, liberals are taking over Texas.
Those are the only states that WANT to secede...as in the movie, Florida considered it. Texas was the Republic of Texas and when permitted by Polk, had to BUY our way in.
The tone of this trailer is ridiculously off the mark

Otherwise this divided country, love, life, and freedom are lost in hell. Gone forever. Make your choices carefully. The future of this nation and your future depend on it.
I think being polite is just the beggning. America has great issues adressing minorities needs, support the war in other countries, debt, drug-addiction, corruption, and govermental lobbying causing ambiental damage insde and outside the country.

I watched it yesterday, and oh, it really shook me to my core. I believe we should take any rupture of democratic society seriously. The fabric of our society is indeed fragile. Learning about thinkers like John Locke, Thomas Hobbes, Rousseau, and others who explored living in society and the creation of states should be a fundamental part of education. We must protect our states and work together for a better world where everyone has the opportunity to contribute to knowledge and prosperity for all humanity. Otherwise, we'll learn the hard way, as recent events have shown us. It's about creating one world for all of us.

Watched the film without seeing any of the trailers. I enjoyed it and was very confused as to why people were hating on it. After seeing this trailer I can understand why. Good film, I just think it wasn't marketed correctly and that's what's responsible for the amount of dislike. Even some of the movie posters on social media are being generated by AI and show cities that aren't even in the film like Los Angeles and Chicago. I think whatever company was responsible for distributing the film and running marketing really messed up the perception of the film.
What were they fighting about?
People and critics are missing the an important thing about this film that apart from the polarization of the country, Garland is also criticizing the media.
I haven't watched the movie yet, but from what I have seen him say in interviews he's doing it in a pretty nonsensical way. Garland complains that the different media outlets are biased in different directions and that this contributes to the polarization of society, but the reality is more that some media outlets have become straightforward propaganda to such an extent that, at least to their core audience, they make relatively sane reporting appear as 'propaganda' for the opposite side. This is a conscious, planned effort to win in the battle of ideas that makes complete sense when you cannot win in any fair battle because your ideas are only meant to mislead and fool people.
In other words, what Garland is saying is actually very short-sighted. It would be like seeing two people argue about whether tobacco is bad for your health and claiming that, because one person says it is bad based on scientific research and the other person says it isn't bad merely because they represent the tobacco industry, both sides are 'biased' and contribute to extreme polarization. In reality, one person is 'biased' towards the truth, and the other person is simply lying out of dishonest personal interest.

@@VincentAlfonso I mean... there's less action than the trailers imply, yes, but it's not exactly "light" on the action or brutality lol. It goes hard. And in IMAX, especially. The fact that the first 2/3rds are more of an intimate road movie punctuated with big bursts of action only makes it better.

Civil War is a movie with not much of a plot it is about the Horror and Mayhem of a Civil War in modern time. It is not a movie who try to romance war or entertain the viewer. It is not a movie about Politics of who is wright or wrong. It is a movie about Camera lenses in the fog of war.

(Look up Alex Garland talking about romanticizing violence in war films, that's actually partly what this is about. The trailers take full advantage of that, but that's...undoubtedly a suspect thing according to the film).
Too bad, guess it will scare people into their cages and not motivate them to resist.
@@heretics25 Okay, I'll consider seeing it then. Thanks
People seriously missed the point of the movie.
Not explaining the causes of the war, not telling you who is on what side, etc. That IS the point. The whole film is about war reporters covering an absolutely hellish war in our home country. We don't need to know how it started or who is who in a particular scene. We just need to know that war is brutal, unrelenting hell and innocent people get caught in it.
Complaining about it is complaining that the movie didn't tell you how to feel and admitting you can't have a reaction to things on screen without prompting.
Facts. Like watching attack on titan without the plot
I disagree. There should have been a back story and not just shootings and dead people. The movie reminded me of the Bosnian war and Sarajevo in particular. We know how that war started and why.
@@cecarblanco9933 it's not about the backstory or the why, though. It doesn't matter. What matters is the war is happening and people are being affected.

What's the name of the song playing in the background
I really wanna know this too. I like the song, but I can't find anything online. Maybe it was just created for the trailer.

Great i-v with CW director Alex Garland on Pod Save America ep. 18/19 April '24
People outside NA will like this movie more I feel like
Some Americans salivate over this exact scenario occurring. Where they can "overthrow the tyrannical government".
@@bengeorge9063 If they can even get off their couches
For sure. No sensible American will take this far-fetched piece of drivel seriously.
Yeah, far right grifters are gonna go happy to the cinema and came out as confused as a 5yo girl coming out of Barbie
@@federicomarintuc Barbie was falsely advertised I think more of a trap, there was no politics or patriarchy talk in any of the trailers/teasers
When the trailer starts with so many laudative quotes, you know it wont be good.
Yet it’s rated over 8/10 on IMDb by fans. So
Did you actually watch the film?
I would like to hear the full soundtrack of this movie
Amazing action on the verge of engaging, pleasant music
OOOOOOOOOOO!! A24 THE BEST!!
its just a studio, they didnt make the movie
@@damiaankortenhorst4497I think they know that.
@@damiaankortenhorst4497 but they funded the movie. so technically they did make the movie
A Wise man one said There is no smoke without a fire!
But that’s not actually true lol. Rubber “burning” creates smoke but not fire. Or friction causing heat can create smoke without a flame but yeah I get the lointn
i hope they make seriuosly vibe like londons fallen, or angel fallen
Rest of the World - "we cant wait" 😂
They better play "Civil War" by Gun N Roses during the end Credits

i couldn't understand one word of that music during trailer was that music ?
@@jasonmiller4046 yeah it all comes down to the listener. Because music cant tell if its good or bad, it's just alittle subjective😜 but iam sure you learned that in school
There was some good stuff though, great track by Sturgill Simpson
A one-minute trailer is just right for me; anything longer feels like it's giving away too much.
thats why i prefer teasers
It's coming it's only a matter of time
Totally agree 👍🏽

If it ever happened, it's FL and TX vs the Federal Government
and Oklahoma and the Dakotas, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana etc
@@rusbel75 and Tennessee
Then y’all would lose easily lol.
The federal government slaps both those states until they cry on a daily basis. FL and TX would just raise a white flag the second they get an actual threat. They are nothing but cowards hiding behind their pea-shooters.
@@rusbel75 All of which are turning blue. Only TX and FL are still red, but that is changing fast. Both of those states are ion the verge of going blue too.
Omg they got Kirsten Dunst! I just watched Bring It On a week ago! Good to see her back
She has a dad bod
God damn. She's looking rough. Thought that was Amy Schumer.

The second Civil War. It's thrilling! It's fun! Come on young people, what are you waiting for?
What a bizarre tone.
I've heard the movie itself is good and not like the trailer. I agree that this trailer comes off in an odd way.
i hoped there would be more things explored in the plot such as other nations intervening or small extremist groups such as neo-nazis or communists
I just saw this movie. All the best parts seem to be in the trailer
fully agree, awful film
Like other movies with a24, the shooting is very high quality, the actors can't be praised, the scenario of the movie is very interesting
Press not in front of green screens???? Oh come now!😂
I just saw it and did not watch any trailers beforehand. It scared the crap out of me. Very intense.
