Having the benefit of just recently finding and binging this series. In an episode from a couple yrs ago, they actually talk about if any players get a perfect score. They bring up Chris in that episode but have obviously long forgotten.
………Unless there are some GUTS episodes the guys have watched and not put on their guts playlist, then yes, THIS IS THE GREATEST PLAYER EVER ON GUTS!!! With 1925 being the absolute most a player can score, it has been done 3 times. This episode, the JANA episode and the MIKE episode. I went back and checked and like I thought, both Jana and Mike both shared 1st place points in one event each. Making CHRIS the only player to ever win every event OUTRIGHT. So YES……Chris is the greatest contestant ever. Also, there were 7-8 players that finished with the second best score of 1825.
New format looks promising, but if it doesn't work out... Allow me to propose another scoring system that puts more emphasis on individual event wins. In game scoring: 1 point for every round individual win while player is under your control (4 pts handed out per episode) 2 pts for an individual player Agrocrag win. End of episode scoring: 1st place gets 3 pts and 3rd pick next episode, 2nd gets 1 pt, 3rd gets 0 pts and first pick next episode. So that means if a person picks a competitor that sweeps the entire competition in an episode then they will have earned 9pts but have third pick. That's pretty unlikely though, since it is rare for one kid to sweep. And it opens up a opportunity for strategic play such as earning three wins and a likely first place finish in an episode, the trading away before the crag.
REQUEST: When you choose the thumbnail for the episode, can you be careful not to expose the winner? For example, in this episode it says, "The most impressive GUTS contestant ever?", and the winner is shown in the thumbnail. Why should it matter?! Because my two kids and I play along at home. Details... - We draft immediately after J, J, & JZ complete their draft. - We have the same trade deadline as J, J, & JZ. - We like to stay warm, so we wear red, blue, and purple blankets to identify our picks. So it's definitely possible that the thumbnail can influence our draft, and it has so far in a couple of episodes. If it's all the same to y'all at Jomboy Media, keeping that hint out of the thumbnail makes playing along at home more viable.
Again... no matter how you slice it... the 4-2-0 scoring gives exactly the same results as the earlier 3-2-1 scoring. The point numbers will be different, but there is no greater penalty for finishing last this season compared with last season. But in the end, this is still some of the most entertaining content I've ever watched...
Purple was a big disappointment, one of the worst tactical players we've seen. Going for full strength spikes in volleyball rather than controlled tap backs, going high in the elastic jungle, waiting for her pitch in baseball, and missing two actuators on the Crag. She was never going to beat Red but she should have sailed to a second place finish.
Love to see Jake gets some positive vibes from one of his contestants after the bizarre luck from season 1 and the Crag Brag going so disastrously. Joezack getting fleeced at the trade deadline is tough to watch.
Hey just wanted to say my game group plays along and we have our own scoring and stuff. This series is a lot of fun and some of the best non-sports stuff you’ve done!
Joez gave into peer pressure. But wild that you trade away guaranteed Mickey Mantle for IKF and then for the chance at Alfonso Soriano, keep in mind, the CHANCE at that. I mean.... wtf.
Hindsight is 20/20, but in the moment I liked the trade. Process was solid, you're choosing between: -A surefire 4 points, but nothing else -Likely 2 points, plus two future pick swaps to increase your odds of getting 2 or 4 points on the future So the potential payoff of the trade nets you a max of 10, points instead of just 4. It was just too much upside value to pass up imo Where it really went wrong is that purple just collapsed down the stretch, but that woulda been hard to see coming
Sure, at the time Chris' revolutionary bunting style seemed to be the way to win the baseball event. But modern analytics would argue that Stacey's approach of being more selective and taking pitches with no bunting is the better play in the long run
Making trades for 1/4 of the season on game one is a disaster of an idea. What’s gonna be left to trade in the future? There needs to be other things added to the mix to make trades more interesting. Picks don’t matter if you’re down 4-0 points.
I’m sorry Joez/Zack, but I’m currently going back through all the Guts! videos getting an all time leaderboard for each event, and trading Chris away wasn’t just a bad move, the kid per this episode and every single one before it, even the not season specific episodes, like just the Jimmy/Jake videos, he broke the record for Wild Pitch by 4, Boogie Down, and Basic Training by 4 seconds, plus he is tied for second in Spike It with 3 (record being 4). Chris to this point so far is the single best Guts! contestant. Nobody else has 3 first place marks. Yes, you could have an episode where an event is a 1st/2nd/3rd result and not timed or points, and a few other caveats but Chris played the games he was dealt and brought it.
I need you guys to pay attention to the 2 helpers at the top of the volleyball event helping blue and red because they would hit a jump 5 every time and it’s hilarious

My wife and I play along with our own draft. Could you try to avoid spoilers in the title, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
Again... no matter how you slice it... the 4-2-0 scoring gives exactly the same results as the earlier 3-2-1 scoring. The point numbers will be different, but there is no greater penalty for finishing last this season compared with last season.
But in the end, this is still some of the most entertaining content I've ever watched...
I can't be the first, but I'll be the next to point out that the 4-2-0 points format is functionally identical to the 3-2-1 format
We're 20 episodes in and they still haven't learned to add 175, don't even bother lol. Maybe 4-2-0 is just a nod to kushy dreams
22:53 "He sends him on his f**king way!!" 🤣🤣🤣
That made me laugh so hard I actually rewound it twice to rewatch it.
Forget GeoGuesser. This is a Guts channel now.
So glad y'all immediately started season two. When's Global Guts getting cracked open?
Joez gave into peer pressure. But wild that you trade away guaranteed Mickey Mantle for IKF and then for the chance at Alfonso Soriano, keep in mind, the CHANCE at that. I mean.... wtf.
Best series on RUclips
My day immediately gets better as soon as I hear “do da do duh do ya have it?”
Red has “On to Cincinnati” vibes
yes dear was my fav show back in the day
Just wish they would talk about the Guts spotters dancing at the beginning.
I can't believe JoeZack gave up this stud. I feel like this will be like trading the Babe to the Yankees
An all-time blunder
Purple looked like Prince Fielder at the Home Run Derby
Jake is incredibly great at pausing at the start so all 3 contestants are a simple click from each other
Hindsight is 20/20, but in the moment I liked the trade. Process was solid, you're choosing between:
-A surefire 4 points, but nothing else
-Likely 2 points, plus two future pick swaps to increase your odds of getting 2 or 4 points on the future
So the potential payoff of the trade nets you a max of 10, points instead of just 4. It was just too much upside value to pass up imo
Where it really went wrong is that purple just collapsed down the stretch, but that woulda been hard to see coming
Love the intense trade talks this episode! What a start to season 2
Worst trade in week 1 ever! Take the 4 points and be happy. All aboard the Jake-train in season 2.
A million balls coming at me at once is one hell of a quote
I can’t wait to see JoeZack defend their season 1 championship trophy
Can't wait to see how they'll get mind f*kd out of it😂
Sure, at the time Chris' revolutionary bunting style seemed to be the way to win the baseball event. But modern analytics would argue that Stacey's approach of being more selective and taking pitches with no bunting is the better play in the long run
I wish RUclips had a ❤ button for you, kushy fellas.
Kushy dreams be hitting Joez early
For next season a perfect run should be worth 6 points. Give the lock 1st places something to sweat
Making trades for 1/4 of the season on game one is a disaster of an idea. What’s gonna be left to trade in the future? There needs to be other things added to the mix to make trades more interesting. Picks don’t matter if you’re down 4-0 points.
Joez has never heard the phrase "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush."
Ill be honest i have regrets something in my soul was telling me to never let go of him… its a learning lesson
“My guy is 27” HAS ME ROLLLLLIN
Gotta take the guaranteed points right now. Jozack with one of the worst trade's in Guts history.
How long until we got people climbing the Warehouse Craig?
GM Jake with the trade of a lifetime. Season 2 off to a great start for our captain
No way they just traded away the best athlete to appear on guts. Zack needs to go on administrative leave for talking Joez into trading
Joez is so sad at the end lol. Buyers remorse
Trading away a guaranteed 1st place to start the season?? Make it make sense
My dream is to have this draft format with Baggage.
Watchin' Playing' Guts is always an immediate view from me.
What’s a worse insult, going high on the elastic jungle or missing an actuator on the crag?
Going high
Going high
is no one talking about this PERFECT score?!
The only way that trade negotiation starts from Joezack is "you want this kid we get to swap with you anytime we want for the rest of the season"
Gotta stop putting the winner in the thumbnail !!! Talk about a spoiler 😅
Trading away a sure first place for the chance to maybe get a first place is incredibly dumb.
The most mad I've ever been at somebody trading a player away
Chris was raised by experience, not sensitivity.
