I agree it's about joey, the line " you had to be supreme " gets me every time, I take it to mean that Corey felt joey felt he was bigger and more important than Corey. Reality is the slipknot sound required both but joey was the better songwriter and was known to be critical of Corey's screams and directing him how to sing. Which I think worked fine when Paul was in the room. When he passed, there was no bridge between the 2 anymore.
