I think the styling is beautiful and far better than other similar bikes from other manufacturers. I think it fits it's niche perfectly, nice racy styling yet dialed back for everyday riding versus the pinagale 959 and other track bikes. Personally I love it and will definitely pick one up.
I love it, reminds me alot of an 90ies Honda VFR which hit this sweetspot between Sport and touring pretty perfect for me. For many this seams to sound like compromise, but I don't think so, it's uncompromised in it's focus on street driving fun and useability.
Great video and review, Bike World! Chris did an excellent job. I'm sure Ducati will gain some new buyers with this Supersport. Confusing name and styling is a bit off in my opinion. But none the less, should be a good addition for Ducati.
Awesome review, I really enjoyed the behind the scenes footage, always nice to see what happens behind the scenes. One question though, I'm not sure if I'm blind or not but on some of the bikes only one headlight is on? Why is that
Great review. Seems like it would be a fun bike but I think its a rare miss with Ducati when it comes to the styling...not the best I've seen from them.
I really like what ur saying. Up till the SV650 part . I ride sv1000s . N was watching the 959 . Then this but when u say sv650 ? 🤷🏻♀️ Help me out man .
What a bike , What I Know from DUCATI is that bikes were to much wild , and also must pilots said that in old models from Ducati had a gap in the aceleration answer so when you asked for more velocity the engine gaves the answer late on , and then most of pilot lost lot of precious seconds , but I think that these kind of problems were solved by DUCATI now a day in their bikes.
I think it was a little weird that you told us "we're going to do tracking shots now.." and not just integrating that footage as b-roll through out the bike overview but great video overall.
I'd say this one.... lighter and less intimidating if you''re interested in developing your riding skills and want to get out on a track at some point the supersport bike really does everything!
"So although it's a sports bike, it can be used for touring as well...but it isn't a sports tourer." What? Just throw that out, no explanation, great. It means you have some rigid definition of "sports tourer" in your mind that you think we should abide by. A sports bike with higher bars and integrated bags, etc...sounds like an ideal sports tourer to me.
aluisious it is an ideal sports tourer.... In the presentation Ducati were adamant that this wasn't described as a sports tourer. I guess they didn't want to pigeon hole it... When you compare it to an out and out sports tourer... VFR et al it's pedigree is much closer to a sports bike than a sports touring bike.
Ducati can get a little weird about categorizing their bikes, for sure. They call the Multi (I have a 2015 1200S) "four bikes in one." "Look, it has an Enduro mode." Great...it's an *awful* enduro bike though, you've got to be kidding. I accidentally ended up on 20 miles of sandy road once and I thanked my lucky stars when I got off without dropping $5k of plastic fairings and handguards onto a rock. They should call the Multistrada a sports tourer too...because that's what it is. Either that of a great description I heard once, a "tall-rounder." Get it...all-rounder except it has the enduro inspired riding position, so tall...yeah you got it.
I have one. Just kicking around trading it in on a SS but will need to test ride it first. Bike is expensive for 100HP, no LED lights or steering damper.
I love that..."just kicking around" like an old pair of trainers 😂 I'd argue that this bike doesn't warrant a steering damper. With the bar risers and it's lack of power (compared to the bigger bikes) I found it really stable... It might have been a little different of the track had been 100% dry. Definitely worth a test ride!
If this isn't a sport touring bike what is it? A more comfortable street bike? Don't kid yourself Ducati.... If Honda calls their VFR800 and VFR1200 bikes sport touring bikes and they are similarly aggressive in seating position.... Don't think you squeeze out of this category.

Thanks for the review, this Bike has now entered my shopping list. I was concerned about the small 113hp but sounds like it still does good.
The sound comes across very nicely in this video!

Great review! Nicely done!
I love the retractable windscreen
Nice review.. A blessed relief from Triumphs too

CarlismHD all the bikes have a DRL by law.... Think some of the other riders had switched on the normal headlight too!
Great review. Seems like it would be a fun bike but I think its a rare miss with Ducati when it comes to the styling...not the best I've seen from them.
Waiting for your ride review Jaret when they come out (I enjoyed your 1299 review). Good luck with the move.
Speed Shift57 haha oh right on. I will definitely do a first ride and review when I get my hands on one. 👍
Cheers!
Jaret Campisi hey Jaret! Yeah I think my 2014 Honda interceptor 800 v4 sounds a lot better than this engine😉👍🏻
C Stephenson I'd have to agree. Although I do think the v4 engine in general is the best sounding engine ever made. Haha
does the paint have clear coat?
Is it unsafe during the rain? I live in an area where 3-4 months of almost daily rain :/
It was great in the rain Marcos.
it's an Italian VFR what's not to like..this would have suited me so well a few years ago.
I really like what ur saying. Up till the SV650 part . I ride sv1000s . N was watching the 959 . Then this but when u say sv650 ? 🤷🏻♀️ Help me out man .
that wobbly brake reservoir tho.. 5:23
The sound. OMG
Fire Blade890 sounds like a scooter lol
gelul12 you must be tone def.
I've just bought an S to replace my F800GT...gets delivered 04 Jan 19...it's going to be a long 3 weeks.

i want a bike with sound of Hayabusa and design of Ducati super sport any suggestions
Toufique Molla
they are called Mv Agusta
I think it was a little weird that you told us "we're going to do tracking shots now.." and not just integrating that footage as b-roll through out the bike overview but great video overall.
Jeff Jenkins I think it's about trying to show you a little behind the scenes of what goes on during these launches!
Oh ya dont get me wrong i love tracking shots i just thought it was a bit weird to say hey tracking shots then do tracking shots lol
Ya that makes sense to give a bit of behind the scenes.
videobomb at 6:14. LOL!
Ducati please add 30 bhp, and make the mirrors and windscreen better, and please add a black one
Chris which one is easier to ride/handle for a beginner ? this one or the multi Strada 950 ?
I'd say this one.... lighter and less intimidating if you''re interested in developing your riding skills and want to get out on a track at some point the supersport bike really does everything!

just cause you can doesn't make it a sport tourer. would you consider the ninja650 and the likes a sport tourer?
Put a couple Givi cases on a Ninja650 and tell me why that's not a sport tourer.
Put a couple of Givi cases on a 1199 and tell my why that's not a sport tourer.
The weather at the start of this vid looks like a typical day in Northern Ireland, even in summer! 🙄
Would you go for this over a 959?
Speed Shift57 me? I'd say no.... I'd love a 959

"Titanium Nitrate", it's actually Titanium Nitride, and all that means is "it has a gold colored coating".
Another 10 or 15 hp would have significantly increased marketability.
The new one is better looking.
so road friendly
Very!
Lol @ "Marzoochi forks"
DucatiSalesGuy my bad!!
Lovely looking bike apart from the screen, side profile looks okay but front on profile is just god awful in my opinion.
first comment😄😄
bijay pradhan "bijay"? is that like a BJ?
Mr J haha kind of
could have more bhp imo this is kinda low
gelul12 ye I'll second that! But that said... There's enough to have fun without being too intimidating for newer riders
True but newer riders dont buy bikes that are 16k :p
gelul12 touchè
nice bike for 12 grand.
too expensive for what it is.
Mr J yeh.. looks cheap and under powered
gelul12 yeah, because you can tell power just by looking at it right? 🤦♂️
100ish bhp isnt alot and the torque figure isnt that amazing either. especially comming from ducati.

How much are Ducati paying you for this rubbish? It's not a great bike it's another cut down entry into the Ducati world like like the scrambler.
FireTwo people love the scrambler...
FireTwo stfu
Yeah right. Same spec as a 916 with a quickshifter and better brakes. Rubbish.
