You know, for a fictional restaurant, Los Pollos Hermanos has some really good ads. They actually make their chicken seem delicious.
With spicy new sauce called Blue Magic!
binging with babish did a recreation(I think with the recipe the showrunners provided) and it did look amazingly delicious.
It is delicious, i go there with my gf every sunday but my only complaint is that one day I found a blue crystal on my order. Dont know what it was tho.
That's why this scene works so much

Their working for Trump now, and don't have to hide their law breaking anymore.
I am glad they show how they make their own silica gel packets to absorb the extra moisture of the sauce. Very cutting edge.
And they even wear protective gear to perfectly preserve it. Such a nice thing to do.
I dare say, they really sell the whole process to me. Just the way they do it makes it all look so…addicting.

The more I watch this sequence the more I understand why Mike hated Walt so much for destroying this distribution system!
He even said: it all ran like clockwork. After seeing this scene he meant it in a very literal sense.
Especially with all the bloodshed that went into setting this up (Werner, Lalo, Howard, etc.).

I love the fact that Gus have created a legitimate fried chicken business only as a cover up.
I mean it's something that would already take a life time to achieve and sustain but he does that on the side, just to relax when he's not selling drugs.

It's as much a Gus thing to do as it was a Mike thing to do when Mike showed up for his Madrigal security job and did it right.

@@ertihug4897 You'd be surprised. Fast food commercials (ANY food commercial) is remarkably expensive to produce. The budget for a whole Breaking Bad episode or three may go into just one commercial. But they managed to replicate it quite well here for a small fraction of the budget.

@@Rimanda he has poisoned a child, committed several murders (more than gus), is responsible for the death of 2 DEA agents and what not. Gus is also a villian but walt isnt far behind, on one end gus is cold and calculated whereas walt is ruthless

did people notice the sounds were in time to the music as if to indicate the whole business is a well oiled machine. that kind of detail is why this show will always be one of the greatest things ever produced. That attention to detail is simply outstanding.

IIrc there were several events where some fast food places actually imitated Los Pollos Hermanos to promote new seasons of Breaking Bad or Better Call Sau.

There's a restaurant in Phuket, Thailand called Los Pollos Hermanos. I think it closed though because of the pandemic, but the sign is still up.

I know. Visited the filming location for the restaurant in New Mexico. It was really cool being in there but unfortunately serves pretty subpar tacos instead of delicious chicken.
Well, in my country they opened a Pollos Hermanos restaurant for the fans
1:47 I just realized the reason why they pass it through the curtain instead of just giving it to the shipment guy is so that he doesnt know which barrel has the blue in it, and is thus one less loose end in case the cops ever stop him.
The curtain is there for food safety, or at least, the appearance of such. The sauce is actually real, they might even still use the sauce after moving the product, so they have to generally keep it as clean as possible. It reaches its location and is then removed, and then truck goes on to actually deliver the sauce. The reason being is they can't exactly create twice the amount of sauce production without raising suspicion if someone were to ever look closer, and that would also be an extra expense. The trucks have to appear normal, so they have to actually distribute the sauce in case anyone is investigating them.

He carried on the name in memory, and as a reminder. He was flying the revenge flag all along in front of Hector's face while pretending it was for his Uncles.

Could've been better by dropping all the chicken first then rain the salt then the salt turns blue then all the blue just falls on that basket and there boom transition but instead it was only a fade which is all they could do back then because of limited editing but still looked cool at the time so it works

The visual work of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul is just mesmerizing to watch. The way the hammer hits on the bucket top lines up with the percussion in the music, man. I love BCS but If they ever made a Los Pollos Hermanos prequel on Gustavo and how he made his chicken empire it would go nuts.

That salt to crystal transition was brilliant, the visuals here are absolutely amazing.
This scene represented how good everything could've been. All Walt (and Jesse) had to do was cook and not get in over their heads and they could've made as much as they ever wanted, just like Mike said. Who knows what could've happened, Walt mixed with Gus and Lydia would've been absolutely unstoppable, and if it weren't for the Hank - book scene they likely would've never been caught.

I really hope this is a joke comment and not just an oblivious assumption.
Gus was trying to replace Walter with Gale because he knew Gale would be obedient but Walt was power hungry. He would have killed Walter once Gale learnt his recipe, which is why Walt ordered Jesse to kill Gale first. Even if Gus was willing to keep Walter around, it would have still been perilous for Walt’s family, as seen when Gus literally states that he is willing to kill his infant daughter. So no, Mike was wrong, it wouldn’t have ended up good even if Walt kept his head down, either Walt or his family would be dead.
Edit: Even if Walt didn’t run over the 2 drug dealers, and Gus didn’t think of him as a threat, that would still result in Jesse’s death, since it was a two-against-one gunfight. So there was still never an option for Walt and Jesse to “keep their heads down” and continue working for Gus. Either one of them would end up dead.

As a chicken myself who has witnessed this, I can confirm we do very often get filled with this highly addictive blue rock candy.

I’m kinda surprised that Los Pollos Hermanos hasn’t been made into an actual restaurant chain. Bubba Gump from Forest Gump was made into a restaurant chain, Los Pollos Hermanos could easily be made a actual thing.

I have absolutely no clue what it is, but Walt's slight head tilt as he moves the containers to that music is just... oddly pleasing and satisfying.

I’ve always been impressed with Gus’ ability to have this many people on his payroll all of whom know his secret identity and keeping it a secret for this long. I mean, even the low level mooks that drive his trucks and pack his product know the truth.
It helped that he had a reputation and the cartels behind him.
Not just the restaurant, but the laundry service as well.
The crystal rain transition and the hammer sync is just perfect

I remember there was a pollería (chicken shop) in my neighborhood, and around 2012 they changed their name and image to that of "Los Pollos Hermanos" it was shut down in 2 weeks.
