    What a remarkable family! The love and respect that they have for each other is heartwarming! Just when I give up on humanity a new episode comes out and I regain hope! Everyone should strive for the mindset that this family has? Kudos to your family and continue raising your children the right way! Fantastic!!

    In the US Coast Guard, at least in my day, when a deck hand passed all of his skills, he was awarded a Marlin Spike, which anyone working with lines needs. Just a hint.

    Lots of safety you say. Observed here, yes. Still waiting for man overboard drill. Say 15 seconds after a thump and splash. Who's missing? Where?(people pointing?) Navy adults practice this.

    Every time I watch your video, it puts a smile on my face. I love watching your family thrive. Your children are so loving,helpful,caring,smart, and funny. You should be proud they are all wonderful children. Im sure they have their moments like all children.I wish I had done this with my children. Now, they are grown with children of their own.
    God bless❤

    Half price pizzas on that night....funny! I just feel the joy and happiness of well-adjusted healthy minds of a beautiful family that work together as one. Dad and Mum you are amazing. All pitch in and do the jobs but make sure there's always time out for surfing and kite flying etc. Going through a sad time at the moment but you guys lift my spirits. Thank you, much love Naughty Nana Jude from Australia xxoo

    I don't know how it goes in Australia, but in the U.S., 5th grade is 11 year olds and 6th is 12 year olds. How old is Archie?

    • @sailingwithsix
      @sailingwithsix  13 часов назад +1

      I think the grades are similar. He was 10 when this was filmed. 😊

    How does Archie keep his hair in those dreads? He obviously washes them, but they remain like that. HOW?!

    If you pulled the spinnaker all the way to the top like it’s designed to be, the sail would be more stable, and produce more power.

    • @sailingwithsix
      @sailingwithsix  12 часов назад

      We've played around with it a bit and it definitely likes being above the superstructure but letting it out a little from the top lets it balloon a bit more too. This was flying in less than 5 knots of breeze so I think we were doing pretty well 😉

    My kids used Kahn Academy in their public schooling (Texas USA). Here in the US most students turn 11 in or just after 5th grade.

    The education curriculum my children followed both at their various land-based schools (Kenya, US & Spain) and during their 18 months sailing, is the same one the six of my grandsons (🇦🇺🇨🇦) use at their schools and aim to use when my oldest takes them on their circumnavigation starting next July. It is the junior and senior International Baccalaureate Programme. The great advantage I have found in this course is that it may be followed by pupils who have to move internationally because of their parents' careers, without having to change curriculum. The remote learning options also provide peer-grade interaction with students in the same time zone, which prepares them for regular classes again once the trip or sojourn is over. Tell your ankle-biters that, of my grandsons, 10 like languages best, two English, two sciences, and one each maths and music. Almost all of them groan at the idea of studying geomorphology from Yr 6 onwards. 😅

    • @sailingwithsix
      @sailingwithsix  12 часов назад

      😀 Interesting. I will look in to that programme. 10 like languages! Your family must find learning languages easier than most. We've found Spanish to be easier than French and Bahasa Indonesia has been particularly challenging.

    Hey there, I found out recently that Fiji is Kelly Slaters favourite Country for surfing, he spends a lot of time there as he enjoys the lifestyle,he also owns a house in Australia, I think it may be in Sydney! How cool would it be to meet him on a surf break, I think he’d love watching your kids in action..they are so fabulous in all their water sports.

    Good policy, yes, giving children incentives to study independently. Naturally they're doing well. Bells running the boat independently as well... upon making a little miscalculation, we see her mannerisms soo similar to dad's. Taking smart precautions with the boat maintenance, as usual. Problem is, you've gotten so good at it that there isn't a lot of excitement? But play time on the reef is still a blast. Friendly people here in Fiji. You're too modest to mention the part you took in the 2021 Sea Mercy mission, bringing aid to remote Fijian villages during the lockdowns.

    I’ve been watching your channel for a few months now. It’s so refreshing. You pack so much content in, i watch 2 or 3 times. But it’s not just good content, you avoid making garbage content like some channels.
    Garbage is gimmicks like “whoever can stay in the pool the longest wins $1000”. It’s all BS. Or being in Disneyland for a week straight 10x a year. And then theres mentioning or having a birthday 4 days a week. They literally stretch some of their kids birthdays out for weeks at a time because they don’t have anything good or real to actually film.
    Thank you!

    Always wondered.... what's the reasoning for the open section in the middle of "Big Red" ??? Also, how is Pips leg doing since her last removal surgery? Assuming all is good and the bone is growing stronger and stronger, yes?

    • @sailingwithsix
      @sailingwithsix  13 часов назад +1

      Pip is all better like brand new 😀
      And the idea of the kite in the centre of the parasailor is to help with lift. Thats about as technical as my understanding is.
