The check in clerk said it was fine and put me on a flight leaving in 2 hours, big relief. But, that meant I had to go through "additional security." So I was lead to this section off to the side of the normal security check point line. It was me and this young French couple just standing there waiting in full view of everyone in the normal security line. Just awkward eye contact all around since there was little else to look at. After a short while we were told to come up to this bigger x-ray machine. I believe this was the controversial one that through its scan process makes the person appear naked to the security team. It also required us to stand in a starfish pose so the machine to briefly blow air into our clothing to make sure we weren't hiding anything. The TSA people also dug through our luggage. Just a lot of extra checking. I didn't think of it at the time but in an odd way I did basically skip ahead and get through security a lot faster than had I been in the normal line. Only reason I show up around the 2 hours early is the TSA checkpoint can drag, and you’ll be surprised how much time passes waiting in that line followed by walking to the opposite end of the airport for your plane. Lol
0:37 30-45 minutes before? BAD. BAD MARK. And TSA always gets blamed for it, but it's because multiple airlines stack their flights. For example: Delta, American Airlines, Southwest, and Allegiant ALL decide they want to have a flight at 12 pm. THAT IS NOT TSA'S FAULT, IT'S THE AIRLINES NOT COORDINATING WELL
And then we get slammed with 500+ people who are probably already upset with checking their bags, waiting in line, and become the scapegoat for blame because we have to screen everyone
I agree with you, but what it sounds like based on his "I hope I make my flight back" comment is he had a commitment that ended in extremely close proximity to his flight taking off. And the "20 people in line" comment sounds like it was at a time where it's not heavy traffic on flights and he probably knew that. Idk full context, there's probably some in the episode, but it sounds like it was an extremely calculated scheduling thing where it was like "I should have just enough time for this".
@@PhantomFandoms That's very true, I agree with you. I just had to get a gut reaction out with my comment, because I hear it all the time! "My flight is boarding in 10 minutes!" "Well, what time did you get here?" It's a daily thing. If you do enough research, you can find times to travel where there's very light passenger traffic. Those peak hours are a beast.
45 minutes before the flight?! 😱😱😱 I'm like Wade - two hours MINIMUM. Especially for a really big airport!! Boarding starts 30 minutes before a flight, and getting through security is way more often long and slow than it's not. And then you have to make your way through the airport to the gate! I've never been to LAX (that I remember), but DFW... Atlanta... O'Hare... JFK... all the big airports take time to get through. 😫 I mean, obviously not in THIS case, but he's talking like 45 minutes is normal for him...

Look at it this way Mark. He got to take a break from the general public, which isn't always nice, to take his time to take you to your plane. I can bet it was nice for him.
It’s always strange when you see something that others never get to see. I worked for a company that does mobile machining and I got to work on military equipment and Inside a hydroelectric power plant on a giant rotor from a generator.
I've seen people cut the way you did. It was the "Is he a special person? Was he pulled aside previously and questioned? Does it matter?" All this to say, cutting doesn't really matter to me when it's the airlines doing it. If you requested it, sounds good! I love how embarrassed you were though (I would be too). So funny!
I don't think he's actually that rich? I feel like having a private jet and maintaining it, and then hiring a pilot for it probably costs A LOT. I don't think that's a RUclipsr/OnlyFans creator type of money 😅
This story was wild from start to finish. You followed some random dude to the backrooms and then went inside his car on the tarmac!? Did you know you were being kidnapped?? I thought it would be one of those buggies they use to tow the bags but an actual car!? I cant even. I hope this gets animated.
I had a similar experience at universal studios. My family had this American express vip pass thing. You get a tour guide and get to walk around sets but you get some pass to skip all queues on the rides. When we were shown how to use them the guide walked us to the biggest ride there went to the disabled queue and pushed past people in wheelchairs and very ill children getting us the front....as English people we felt very uncomfortable skipping queues let alone pushing what felt like make a wish kids out the way

5:11 But did it have a bowtie for maximum fanciness?
I worked at an airport and all we got was governors, presidents and Judge Judy.
3:11 i call it the npc stare, a rude name for it? probably. accurate? i think so
What got me the most was the tip at the end.
Thinking of protecting Marks identity is hilarious, seen as he is so open to fans, and always seen as nice.
I mean, many celebrities are but like…
And to think. There are people who just expect everyone in the world to treat them like this.
Welcome to Planet Earth, ladies and gentlemen.
Darn, you distracted me again
45 minutes before the flight?! 😱😱😱 I'm like Wade - two hours MINIMUM. Especially for a really big airport!! Boarding starts 30 minutes before a flight, and getting through security is way more often long and slow than it's not. And then you have to make your way through the airport to the gate! I've never been to LAX (that I remember), but DFW... Atlanta... O'Hare... JFK... all the big airports take time to get through. 😫 I mean, obviously not in THIS case, but he's talking like 45 minutes is normal for him...
Was silently laughing at the thumbnail of this video 😂😂😂😂
Can't wait for this to be animated, hoping anyway
i need this one animated
"I'm nobody, I'm not even that good a youtube"
_The preceding was said by Markiplier, a man who, was on the way home from making a _*_movie,_*_ and currently has an amazon TV series_
That feeling of importance when you don’t want it, is one of the worst things
Lol Wade with that "Damn LA traffic." 😅😅
"Damn LA traffic"
Golden line from Wade
Our king mark deserves nothing less. 🫡
Amen
The thumbnails for these clips always throw me off because I want them to be an animation, so that being said, PLEASE make this story and animation!
Mark: "Maybe a couple people will recognise me" / “I'm not even that good of a RUclipsr”
Meanwhile his 36M+ subscribers: bruh -_-'
Look at it this way Mark. He got to take a break from the general public, which isn't always nice, to take his time to take you to your plane. I can bet it was nice for him.
I want to point that the next time will be a movie director so that shit going to be wild
This isn't even normal concierge service, this is just a prank that Spotify playlist on everyone.
This would be me if I were at all note worthy, just having a mental break down and apologizing incessantly 😂
I started watching this WHILE SITTING AT LAX! Wish me a safe flight 😅
I'd happily get fired just so mark can save a few minutes
?????
It’s always strange when you see something that others never get to see. I worked for a company that does mobile machining and I got to work on military equipment and Inside a hydroelectric power plant on a giant rotor from a generator.
I've seen people cut the way you did. It was the "Is he a special person? Was he pulled aside previously and questioned? Does it matter?" All this to say, cutting doesn't really matter to me when it's the airlines doing it. If you requested it, sounds good! I love how embarrassed you were though (I would be too). So funny!
I like that he keeps insists he’s not bullshitting like we wouldn’t believe him
When you've already listened to every episode so you watch clips on YT
Mark is so humble. But to that end, I am surprised markiplier doesn't have his own private jet.
I don't think he's actually that rich? I feel like having a private jet and maintaining it, and then hiring a pilot for it probably costs A LOT. I don't think that's a RUclipsr/OnlyFans creator type of money 😅
I think it's a question about priorities, he probably could afford a plane, if he didn't do charity or big projects like Space
This story was wild from start to finish. You followed some random dude to the backrooms and then went inside his car on the tarmac!? Did you know you were being kidnapped?? I thought it would be one of those buggies they use to tow the bags but an actual car!? I cant even. I hope this gets animated.
Someone on a band trip at my high school had the exact experience of seeing Mickey without his head smoking.
