*Darn Toughs* are better. They are made in the USA and have an unconditional guarantee. Icebreaker only has a "lifetime " warranty and you need proof of purchase, and owning and wearing their socks doesn't count as proof.
Why is it so hard to find a decent sock nowadays. 10 years ago I bought about 20 pairs of Berkley and Jensen everyday socks that were black with grey bottoms. Those were the greatest socks ever. It was $8 for 8 pairs. Around 2014 those socks were discontinued and replaced by the thpical thin, stretchy and slippery material that is prevelant today. Now i have to spend $20+ a pair for an equivelant sock.
Icebreaker clothing is very expensive. But I do like thier socks because made with merino wool keeps feet warm in the winter and in the summer wicks away moisture. Also won't stink for a few days.

I have worn both and I have to say that the icebreaker have a better fit with the sided construction. They are perfect!
